Dear Scorpions,
I don’t know if this message will ever find its way to you – but in case it does, I just want to say this from my heart.
I was just a little girl when I first heard Wind of Change. It was around the time when my country was finally breaking free from behind the Iron Curtain. I didn’t understand politics, but I felt the winds shifting – and your song gave it a voice I could understand, even as a child. It made me believe, deep inside, that the world could truly become a better place.
That feeling stayed with me. And maybe it sounds silly, but ever since those days… I’ve worn a cap like Klaus’s. It became a quiet symbol of something I felt deeply and couldn’t explain – just something that stayed with me, like the song.
And when you changed the lyrics of Wind of Change because of the war in Ukraine… I was stunned. Not just by the strength of the message, but by the size of the heart behind it. That moment was wow – so full of courage, compassion, and integrity.
Your music has never been “just music” to me. Send Me an Angel is still a prayer I carry in my heart. And when I heard Humanity – I was stunned again. You gave voice to something I’ve always felt, but never believed anyone would listen to if I said it. But you are listened to by millions. And when you stood up and sang it out loud… it gave me a feeling I’ll never forget.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the world – by injustice, suffering, and the things I see around me and in my work. But your music has always reminded me that I’m not alone in feeling this. That someone else out there sees, feels, and dares to sing about it.

Liebe Scorpions, ich habe gerade beim Joggen "Savage Amusement" durchgehört und muss einfach sagen, das ist ein von vorne bis hinten fantastisches Album, von dem ihr bei eurem Jubiläumskonzert in Hannover gerne mal ein Stückchen spielen dürft. Für mich hat es eine besondere Bewandtnis, denn es war 1988 mein erster Zugang zu härterer Musik. Unabhängig davon, das Album hat keinen Überhit, dafür aber ist jedes einzelne Lied stark. I once met Rudolf and Klaus as they entered the AFN building in Frankfurt. All I could say was, "Hey, I know you" as I ran off for assistance. Always liked you guys. Thank MTV. Also thanks for keeping things auf English. My favorite is with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Have you always written with an orchestra in mind? The best. Keep rockin'!
