Review of April 3, 2022 concert: I have been going to concerts since I was 13, which was a LONG time ago! I have seen bands of all genres and Scorpions was always on my list but it just never worked out with my schedule. After getting my tickets in 2019 for the spring of 2020, the concert was rescheduled twice because of Covid. I was one of those who held on to my tickets, trusting TicketMaster to still honor them, praying that the Scorpions would be able to return to Las Vegas, and knowing I would work it out to get there if they did. It was more than worth the wait! I had been in the Zappos event center before, so I already knew it was awesome. SkidRow was better than I expected as far as the music. The new lead singer does have a great rock voice, tho between songs he seemed a little ‘too high’ for my taste. (Good thing I wasn’t playing a drinking game for every time he dropped the f-bomb in each sentence.) Once the Scorpions started playing, the entire packed house stood up, started rocking, and never stopped during the entire set and encore. It was classic Scorpions sound throughout, including their new songs from Rock Believer! The voice of Klaus, the musicianship of Rudolf, Matthias, Pawel, and Mikkey continue to be phenomenal and completely age-defying. Rudolf keeps the house jamming, Matthias goes into a magical place as he closes his eyes and the sound from his guitar draws you into his world while you ride along in a musical wave like no one else can produce with a guitar, Pawel isn’t just your usual bass player with his solo piece having more rhythm and jive than most, and then you have...

Most of the time drum solos are when everyone leaves the auditorium to use the rest room, get a drink, etc. But, not with Mikkey playing like he does and even after an unusual amount of drum solo time, you are so impressed with his skills and rhythm, you find yourself wanting more. As if all of that wasn’t enough, you have the sweet and yet strong voice of Klaus who makes the Scorpions be unique, inspiring, electrifying, and exhilarating. This is a MUST SEE concert!! If you can find a ticket…buy it and get yourself to Planet Hollywood’s Zappos theater for one of the best shows you will ever see!!
