It's funny - I wrote several reviews last year with all the Scorps shows I went to. I had a very long flight home to start thinking what to write about Athens and I'm not sure if a review is possible for me. There are just so many little details that happened each and every moment I stepped out the door of the hotel or opened my big mouth (okay mostly when I opened my big mouth - I was pretty good at inserting my foot into it!)
For now, what I can say there were highs and lows, the highs included the Scorpions of course but equally as high being with friends I've met before, strangers who are now friends and even some new frenemies!
On the way home I kept on wondering if it was all a dream. I kept on saying to myself - "NO WAY! I said that to who? What was I thinking?"
All I know is that the experience was absolutely amazing and without a longwinded review which you guys are used to me doing by now - I can't thank everyone enough who was there with me for making this such an amazing experience. Lets see if I can list them!
Scorpions & friends of course.
Worldly Friends - Delphine, Curry, Nadia, Nada, Tatiana (X2), Beate, Enya, Bibi, Marinos, Susan, a couple of Russians who I don't know their names eeep! All those folks from the UK/Scotland, Finland and all the other countries who were represented that I was privileged to of met.
Huge hugs to all my new Greek friends - Antonis, Sakis, Chris, Mary oh and about 15 to 20 more whom I wish I had contact info for. You guys rock and I am glad it was an acoustic show because I don't think I would of survived the front center at the barrier for the last show. Also big applause for such a fun party too. I wish I had stayed until the sun came up - but the looks on everyone's faces the next day many did.
Many thanks to everyone who was there and those who supported all of us who couldn't be there in person. We are a team.
