So, unfortunately I won't participate, because I'm not what you call a "fan" anymore, so it wouldn't feel right. It started because of the behaviour of other fans. I began to dislike for example how some people talk about certain artists as if they were "Gods", even call them so (I mean, what would you say about Beethoven then?). I don't think it's a right thing to do, making someone feel that they are blindly followed by a "die hard" group. It's not good for the 'receiver' and I'm sure the fan doesn't gain 100% respect either, in most cases. Even people who criticize f.i. the case "same old setlist at every show", still travel to see them several times per year. I don't judge what they do, because certainly they have their reasons. But I don't want to belong to that group in that way = be a fan. (I feel like that in general, not only about Scorpions) I have also been like that and I understand it, but now it doesn't fulfil me anymore. Furthermore, some of Scorpions' latest choices don't honor their art, and I can't support that.. So I prefer to listen to the pure art, on their albums, than follow the actual people and spend even more money. Like Beth said, the music will always be touching.
But I'm still on the forum because of the company, all the nice people I have met here.
Similar case to Galya I guess.
You stole my thoughts through telepathy
I think that's why I've been away from this forum for about 3 years. I had my life to deal with. The worst thing when you meet a fan is when you want to talk about a lot of things but sometimes they only know to talk about the Scorpions.
