I`ve been facebook fan of the festival from 2012 (when Metallica was headliners), so I`m quite updated for any news and so... But nope, I am travelling abroad only for Scorps... May be, some day... when I win the lottery, I could give some money for following Metallica too

Well its all about the money these days. I have been told the band was offered an amazing Tour package for the summer of 2013 in North America. Both bands were going to play 90 minute sets but the Scorpions would go on first since they were not as big as the other band in the States. And the Scorps said NO!!! either they closed the show or they would not do the tour. So no tour in 2013 here in America..

Maybe 2014 but don't hold your breathe...

Plus check this link on all the bands playing at the download festival this year..besides Maiden,Motorhead,UFO and Buckcherry all other bands suck...

Download is a METAL festival, classic rock is a minority interest there generally speaking. There are great bands playing though. Open your mind. I go every year. It's my favourite weekend of the year. Except maybe one weekend in November 2011 at the Forest National in Belgium. That was awesome!

This summer they are playing Thomas (FOS DADDY) private party...We should all be there..the guy is a party animal..

Damn I am not corrupt and my house isn't large enough for everyone ..
We need to have it somewhere close by and with lots of space .. and we'll need security as well as find a host that's corrupt like the mafia

I will enjoy it. I don't ever know the music of half the bands on the line up but there is always great stuff that surprises you. Still if you go with a negative attitude then nothing will make you enjoy it. I'll check out the bands above, thanks for the tips.
I've never seen Slipknot and they aren't really top of my list to see but if the scorpions aren't going and nobody else decent is announced I might have to see them. Their 2009 set looks good in teh videos. Headlining 2nd really would have put the Scorpions back on the map in Britain, introducing them to a new generation who really don't know who they are.

agreed about the Scorps comment above..they should never turn down an opportunity to play in front of 30-40,000 people on a 2nd stage..especially in a country where they are not popular anymore...The Scorpions and Amend must of forgotten that back in 2005 the band had to open for Judas Priest on a UK arena tour. It's a shame the egos have gotten bigger in 8 years. Playing a Metal or Hard Rock festival is a great opportunity to get more fans on your side. Now that the band has announced that playing in your country will cost you big bucks alot of the casual fans won't even listen to them anymore. What a shame...
