Hello again!

Happy New Year to all!

It's lovely to read all these reviews, to view Gianluca's film from HRC again with the amazing Scorps trio :). It literally puts me back there. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, I know I should also take time to let you know how I felt there and I promise I will. But first I must find the time to do it. Imagine, I did not even dowload the pictures from my phone to post them on facebook, to let my friends know what they are missing by not being part of this great "family" and to let you all, my "brothers and sisters", re-live some of the incredible moments.

Shame on me!

Hello again,

I promised, I must keep my promise, so here is my (not so) short review.

It all started in Bruxelles, in November 2011. Going to that concert and to the FOS meeting one night before the show was one of the best decisions I took in the last years. So, when the idea came up to repeat all that in München, I decided I had to be part of it again. Unfortunately, it was not that easy to arrange everything, so by the time I was 100% sure I can be in München in October the show was sold out. “Bad luck”, I thought, but I decided I would not give up this dream: I must be in München. For the show, but mostly to meet those great people again.
So I started to keep an eye on the Internet, searching and searching for one ticket for a pretty reasonable price. I knew I would never find one for the original 65 €, but 100 € was realistic. And then I found one. And grabbed it. For 90 €. You can not believe how good I felt when it happened. And it got better the day I had the ticket in my hands. Incredible!

But then, another shock! The show can not be held in October, because of the construction works at the venue. It already seemed to be that this whole situation was doomed. Especially after reading that some could not change their reservations and had to miss the show and the FOS meeting. All the good spirit was gone, I even thought of selling my ticket. A Scorpions show – even if it was advertised as being the last one in Germany (I am sure it wont’t be) – was a good reason to travel to München. But I have seen the show and the only thing that would drive me to see it again was the FOS meeting. My disappointment at that time was really big, but it went away – thanks to all of you. When I saw that, despite the show being postponed, the idea of the meeting was still standing, I put aside all my bad feelings and took another great decision: I would go to München.

Then he waiting started. A looooooong time, but you again made it shorter. Especially with all the details related to the FOS meeting. So, when I got in the car to drive to München, it felt like the Bruxelles meeting was only a few days ago. I got to München on Saturday, in the afternoon, and spent the evening together with my wife and the friends we were living at. On Saturday, we went to visit some Christmas Markets, but believe me I could not focus on anything else but the meeting at the Hard Rock Cafe. Later in the afternoon, we went at the Hofbräuhaus, to have a real Bavarian dinner and then, off to the HRC. (As the place is so big, I do not wonder now that I did not see the other FOS members in there).

Once I got inside the Hard Rock Cafe, I saw the line in front of the room and instantly knew “that’s the place”. I will not insist on how the meeting was, I will only say this: SUPERB! Thank you. Joanne, Delphine - you did a fantastic job! And everyone else who was involved! Thank you for a great evening!
Meeting those nice people from Bruxelles again, meeting new ones as nice, the Italian+Hungarian show (BTW I’m starting drum lessons this week, next time, I’m in if you will be still looking for a drummer  ) with the Pyramid, the gift bags, the superb FOS scarf – all was exceptional. Unfortunately, time was so short and, as Curry noted before, there was not enough to speak to all. But I am sure we will repeat this and catch up. 100% sure!

And then… Monday. MJ Guitars or not? I decided to go. My plan included then taking the subway to the Olympiapark and hoping that the queue won’t be that long. I got at MJ Guitars there kind of late, it was pretty crowded, but I decided to stay. Matthias was already there, talking to everyone approaching him, being as kind as he always is. Then, Pawel and James arrived. I got the chance to take some pictures with all three of them and then spent half an hour outside the shop, watching the show through the window - it was too hot in there. Nevertheless, I could hear the show very good from outside and I got an A+ view of James :)

During all this, my plan to take the subway suddenly changed, after talking to Markus. He offered to drive me to the venue. Ut then again the plan changed. As I was hungry, I went to McDonald’s around the corner, together with the UK gang – Phil, Ashlie and Maureen – then we all took a cab. The drive to the Olympiahalle seemed soooo long. And it was really long. But at the end, after the driver dropped us off, I did not care anymore. We went to one of the entrances, where – to my surprise – there was almost no queue. Just familiar faces – you know, those really nice people I told you about already :)

We did not wait long, then the gates opened. Unfortunately for me, one of the security guys thought my camera was more than just a “simple” one and decided to take it away from me. So, I had to wait until he gave me a piece of paper with a number on it, so I could get it back after the show. Only if he knew that my phone has a better camera… :D After this was over, I literally ran into the Olympiahalle. I found the way downstairs pretty easy and – surprise – there were a lot of good places still up for grabs. And I got the best one, thanks to Emilie and Diego. They spotted me and offered me the free space next to them. Thanks! So, I had nothing to do but enjoy time with these two great young people and wait for the show. We spent the entire time talking about Scorpions and mostly about what was going to happen. We felt it was going to be a special night. Topic number 1 were the numerous cameras around us – way more than usual. Will they film another DVD? What are the cameras for? We had no idea at that time, but we knew something was going on. Then, we spotted a set list and tried to get our hands on it. Unfortunately, a security guy grabbed it and wouldn’t give it to us only after the show. :D

The time went by real fast and then Eisbrecher came on stage. To be honest, despite the fact that I like Rammstein, I did not really enjoy this band. I don’t know why, they just did not convince me. And at the end, when the front man was running around to sing along the audience, I must admit I prayed he won’t come to me. I had more luck than Adriano in Oberhausen… :)

And then… the moment we have all been waiting for. “Ladies and gentlemen…Children of all ages… Would you please welcome… The Scorpions!!!” I felt it was going to be an awesome show from the beginning. I felt the guys were giving it all, to make it a great show. And it turned out to be excellent. Full of nice surprises – first finding out the real reason for all those cameras (the film which will come out next year), then the setlist with We’ll Burn The Sky, dedicated to the FOS, Hit Between The Eyes, Is There Anybody There and all the other great songs. It really was an incredible evening. The show was fantastic, I would dare to say that it was one of the best I have ever seen (still battling for 1st place with the one in my home town Cluj – but that’s my home town, so there might be other reasons for that show being my favourite :) ).

But all the good things come to an end sometime… And so did the show. The smoke went down, the guys left the stage and I wanted to spend some more time with those really nice people I mentioned numerous times before. Unfortunately, I had to get back my camera first and then, when I came back, I couldn’t find anyone. Too bad… But I know one thing: it is not the last chance to spend time after a concert with the FOS.

I enjoyed your review Vasi.
I feel sorry for missing the meeting each other, but ok, next time. :)

Yep, it was really hot in Matthias' store.
I was with Ildikó Mérai/my friend, till the beggining of the minishow, we changed the places between outside, and inside.
When we had too hot, went outside, when we started to freeze, went inside.

I bet, Scorpsfans made a good business for that Mcdonalts on that after noon, because we also et there after the Matthias event.

Ok, it was an unforgettable weekend of 2012. :D

Curry, I shall hold my hands up and say that the videos were all Phillip's work, I'm useless with cameras, so I leave it to the experts! If you want to look at more of his stuff on youtube, just look for bigphillkelly, he has a lot of Scorpions videos plus other bands we have seen.

Vasi, it was such a shame we missed you at the end of the show, as you know we did come and look for you but we came out the other end of the hall and missed you :( , but hopefully it won't be the last time we see you all :D
