The Scorpions landed at #38 on the top 50 grossing tours of 2012. The band made a reported 32.7 million dollars on touring in 2012. That might be another factor in the band deciding not to retire.

I knew they were doing well but im actually surprised that they made that much in 2012 alone. I bet Amend is getting the last laugh at all the haters here. And i bet the lions share was made outside the US. We are no longer the end all be all for music success in the world. Props to the guys AND their management !

Now they need to rest after they give us a video/music ( with WWL ) box set !

I would say many euros and rublos I saw that Van Halen are on 15th position,but how many dates they did? Actually I don't remember many dates on their last tour

Great point .. Van Halen postponed most of their shows and Eddie got ill in the summer .
Further postponing shows !! Even though tickets were like $150 a piece how did they make 15

Great point .. Van Halen postponed most of their shows and Eddie got ill in the summer .

the reason VH landed at #15 is that the dates from March-June were sold out and played in front of 15,000-20,000 a night....could you imagine if they would not of cancelled the 30 dates this past summer. they would of been in the top 10..
