a Munich review...from far away!....

well as I suppose, many of you are wondering what would a feed about Munich show include, coming from a fan that did not make it to the Munich show.

First of all, I will TRY not go through this in details again, since most of you know the story…but for those who don’t, that’s it in general…in brief, I had bought a ticket since February (of course most of us got it from ebay or some other websites as the concert was sold out so fast). i have picked Munich because it is a city that I have always wanted to visit, and make so many dreams come true there and then I learned that many FOSers will be there so that’s the dream show! I faced some difficulties and had some headaches in order to get the ticket as the seller only shipped inside germany but I managed to have the ticket in my hands here in Lebanon after all. I started to plan this trip which had to start one week before the show and which, beside the sightseeing of Berlin, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna, also included the Oktoberfest and a live Bundesliga football game for my favourite Bayern Muenchen at the arena of my dreams, the Allianz Arena…I was so lucky that a game was taking place during this time in Munich…well all this added to a Scorpions show and FOS gathering, this all seemed like the dream trip! I was so excited! And have been dreaming about it along with my FOS friends almost everyday…

The procedure to get a visa to the EU is a bit long here, so I had to provide all the needed documents and then take an appointment like 2 months prior to my visit to the german embassy, that was my only last obstacle before I can confirm my presence In Munich…but gladly, I finally managed to get a visa and that was on a lovely morning end of July…in the evening of the same day, I read the news about the Olympiahalle not being ready for this show. well no need to say how this fell on me, my dream was just braking into pieces and I felt such an agony and disappointment, it was like: this cant be true, its definitely a nightmare im waking up from soon!

But then it was confirmed that the show is postponed til December and here’s when I knew I will have to miss the show and the FOS gathering, because I had everything booked and my visa wouldn’t be valid til December….i cannot forget the support I received from all the FOSers at that time, everyone was sympathizing with me, many people offered to help, and I was so touched during this period by things they were offering me, it was like everyone felt me, and of course many others who, like me, went through the same thing.

well that was it, until I read on MJ’s page that he will hold a show for us at MJ guitars, the fans that will be in Munich in October and those who couldn’t alter their ticket to make it on December…in the middle of my sadness and frustration, these news got be excited all over again…visiting MJ guitars while MJ is there and then things went even better when I learned that many of my FOS friends would still go to Munich in October…yeyyy!

Munich, October 2012

My vacation in Germany and Austria was so excellent and it was already the time for MJ guitars show! one day before the show, I finally met Adry, with whom I am good friend and was looking forward to finally meet in person. And, as Adry and me have lot of common interests, we had 3 awesome days visiting our favourite places in Munich, such as the Allianz Arena…the night before the show, we met Emilie and Diego and all of us had dinner at the HB Haus with a typical Bavarian style, very tasty food and one of the best beers in Germany and the world I would say. That night was a LOOOT of fun, it was amazing how we were talking, laughing and joking as if we knew each other for a long time…well FOS family is magical!! We had an awesome time and were looking forward for the next day….

We went to MJ guitars so early, and I must say we were a bunch of very lucky persons on that day! we thought lets go take a look there when it is still empty and then we go for lunch and come back for the show…but for our amazing luck, Matthias shows up early too, just when we’re there with very few others!!!!…we had enough time to chat, laugh, take photos and autographs with him…then we went for lunch and came back for a rocking mini show and then got some plecs as souvenirs and left MJ guitars with wonderful memories and emotions.. Matthias was more than nice and charming, I already shared my feeds of that visit… what touched me so much at MJ was lot of familiar faces/names either from the forum or Facebook…it was awesome to see people recognizing you there…i was so happy to meet Delphine, Dasha and many others that I know from FB too! The crowd there was just lovely and MJ was impressed to see people coming from all over world, including Lebanon…a lebanese friend of mine met Matthias in Oberhausen and told him: my friend was at MJ guitars in October..and Matthias replied: oh yes and she had to miss the show because she cant come in december! sie war sehr nett! and that means: "she was very nice"! isn't it amazing to know he remembered me! and how nice of him to say that! :)

This unforgettable day ended with another dinner at HB (it was my 3rd, during that trip :D)..it was so nice, once again, more laughs, chats, Scorpions and forum talks, sharing stories of our cultures and countries, it was awesome and this is when we recognized it was the end of this dream of 3 days and it was time to say goodbye or “a bientot” ! well it was so sad to leave all those good friends, I really wished we lived closer to each other and could meet more often and we almost speak everyday now and cherish the good memories of Munich.

Munich, December 2012

the date is on the door and we are following the updates of all the FOS getting ready to travel from all over the world on facebook, on the forum, the preparation, the gathering at HRC Munich…the feeling was weird, I was so happy to read those and feel their excitement and of course regretting not being able to be there in that very special show….each time a new fan confirms his presence in Munich was making me feel sorry to have to miss meeting him/her…

so, during these pre show times, I was once checking the munich topic and saw photos of the scarves shared by my dear sis, Curry…I loved how they looked, the design and the idea was so good, and I was going through the names and countries, until I read: Nada Lebanon….wait a minute!!! Am I hallucinating? No no I have to go through another photo….let’s see…oh yes that’s Nada! My name is there!!! You cannot imagine the feeling that took over me when seeing this…I was strongly touched, this beautiful surprise made me speechless! Then I grabbed my phone to text Curry and thank her….i knew later that I wasn’t supposed to see this before I hold it in my hands…she had planned to send it to me and not say a word about it before that…how sweet is that? But of course, I told her that a surprise is a surprise no matter how it came and under which circumstances, I was just so overwhelmed, so happy!

HRC FOS gathering

It is December 16 and many of us are in front of their computers to follow the livestream and the news from gathering, we were sharing our thoughts on the FB group created by Adriana, getting the updates and sharing them…I was in touch with many of the guys there, through sms, until I receive a call from Adry and I got the chance to speak to him, Emilie and Diego who went out of the HRC that was too noisy in order to talk to me, say hi, make me feel the moment live from our favourite city facing our favourite restaurant, the HB…the guys didn’t stop telling me how much I am missed there and that what we had in October was so special and wont be forgotten (Diego, your words were so sweet!!), I appreciated their call and urged them to get inside, away from the cold, and especially for them not to miss any potential surprise at the HRC (they were expecting some of the boys, maybe James or Pawel)…after waiting for few minutes, all connected to livestream, finally a video of 10 minutes shows up where Joanne is going through all the guests and doing an excellent job!!! Joanne, hat off and thank you! We just LOOOVED what you did…and due to technical problem the 2nd movie would not work! We were all wondering what was wrong but I must say what we saw earlier was more than enough in giving us an idea about what was goin on and speaking about it between us, on the livestream itself or on FB..we were naming you guys, this is Curry!! Ohh look at Delphine! It showed how happy you were and Joanne made sure to let us see the giftbags and especially to let each one of the fans say something ! It wasn’t easy for me to go to bed that night, I was waiting for more videos and news!

The Show

Of course, it is the night of the show and I couldn’t stop thinking about it that night, thinking of the guys queuing up so early for the show, picturing the Olympiapark/Olympiahalle, that I visited in October as well…I was thinking of what my friends will be doing by now… and then I receive an sms from Elie, he’s a Lebanese friend of mine who now lives in Hannover and was in Munich for the show. Elie is also a huge FOSer and this is how we became friends in the first place since in Lebanon we live close to each other… I have already told him about few of my friends and I said when you see Italian, Bulgarian, Russian, Spanish, French, etc… flags all together, these are my friends, go meet them and say hi!

And few minutes before the show begins, Elie told me that he can recognize my friends, he had seen Curry and Adriano, but they were on different sides of the catwalk so Elie, who had the Lebanese flag with him, sent it with a small piece of paper where he wrote: “I am Nada’s friend”, he sent them with the security guard to Curry and Adriano, who let him know that they understands what he wants and that they will throw the flag with the others on stage…Elie told me about all this by sms, updating me from the venue.. and then I receive a funny wonderful sms from Adry saying:”I have your flag, don’t worry, ill take care of it” ;) (funny because he sounded like the mafia guys :D ) knowing that the Lebanese flag was there made me happy and also the way it got to my friends, it was impressing to know how small the world is and how in such a huge place, connections could be made so easily with ppl from all over the world, it is the magic of the FOS, again!!

Few minutes after the show begins, I receive a call from Nadia, and all I hear is the guys singing “We’ll burn the sky”….i could listen to the songs for 4 minutes, singing along, closing my eyes that were full of tears!!!! Yes it made me cry, how wouldn’t it! One of my favourite songs sang live by my favourite band and my amazing friends are there, shoulder to shoulder…singing, and making me live this moment! Nadia didnt say anything, because of course I wouldn’t hear her and also, because no words can be said at this time, the song and the emotions said it all! I hung up, full of emotions, thinking how blessed I am to have such caring and thoughtful friends who never stopped to amaze me until I receive another call few minutes later, I knew later it was Curry, because it wasn’t her phone but I google the code to know which country it was and made sure it was Curry…when I picked up the phone I heard: NADAAAA HELLO NADAAAAAAAA and then Send me an Angel song before she hung up….well… no more words can describe the moment… just when I thought things couldn’t get any better during those 2 nights, I was even getting more surprised…how awesome can you guys be?

Well the show has ended and the FOSers went back home, each one to his country sharing their beautiful stories, and they can barely get back to reality after these unforgettable moments…they are sharing lots of videos and photos....they actually took us to Munich! Elie also told me that he has my scarf!! Thanks Currrry once again!
I have to say a million thanks to all of you and believe we’ll be somewhere soon shoulder to shoulder, living beautiful moments…

This review is to show how much this family is a true one and how caring its members are…believe me, the FOSers who went to Munich wished that each one of us was there and they took us all in spirit with them….but if they gave me a special treat, its only because I have lived the Munich dream with them throughout the past months and they were trying to make it up for me…and yesss they succeeded!

To all those who couldn’t make it to Munich, especially Elton, who also had tickets but was unlucky to make it as well, keep hoping because I know some other beautiful occasion will unify the family of Spiders once again…we make a wonderful United Rock Nations that has marked the world!! The best is yet to come my friends, cross your fingers!

Thank you Scorpions, thank you FOSers/Friends!
Cheeeers!

P.S Sorry for the longgggggg review, i just couldn't stop writing, i hope you don't get bored...I felt like writing my diaries (which I never did before)...if you manage to read til the end then hey, you're a true survivor!! :D

awww...Nada...that's a review of a REAL DIE_HARD FAN! who, even being away from the show, lives its spirit, the emotions and the atmosphere...fantastic! Thanks for writing it my friend! :)
And thanks for describing your october's journey - coz I missed it in all senses ( I mean, I didn't go there in oct and I missed all your revirews :( ) - but now it was my second chance to read it :) Hey! still I'm happy that you managed to see Matt and some of fosers in october :)
And as for the december part...yeah I witnessed those historical moments when your friend Elie ( yeah now I won't forget his name!!!!) passed Lebanese flag to Adry and Curry ( ok, I only guessed what happened coz it was so noisiy that I couldn't hear even Gabi, who was standing next to me....) Then, that moment of your glory, when Klaus toll the flag on the stage, and, unlike other flags, he looked it in details, and I think he understood that it was a Lebanese one ( i hope  ), then the scarf with your name on Klaus' schoulders!!! yeah I can say that you were there with us on that show!!!!!! and I'm happy that you could be there in spirit, and even hear 2 small parts of it :)
Btw,
Leb Yellow Butterfly wrote: Nadia didnt say anything,

actually I did  - when you picked up the phone I screamed :Enjoy it!!!!
and in the end - " I love you sister, talk to you later"
But of course these words just got lost in the screaming of the crowd and in the song..... So I though so, that you didn't hear me, but actually it doesn't matter at all :)
So once again thanks for this "different" review Nada! you rock! And I hope someday we'll sing "we'll burn the sky" standing shoulder to shoulder in the front of T  :)
Best wishes, Nadya

It's great to be here, to see you all!

...'Coz you're engraved deep in my heart....:romance-heartbeating:

WOWWW... That`s something everybody have to read! :o :D :D So touching review, from a fan, who (physically) missed the show! But yes, emotionally, you were with us! Your spirit was there, rocking and stinging with the FAMILY OF SPIDERS! Well said about the magic of FOS... It is a magic! We`re really a huge, loving and caring family!

 Yeah, you shouldn`t have seen them earlier, but.. I am glad you liked it sis, even not being the surprise I`ve wanted! :) And you deserved to be there, of course! You were with us, would somebody deny it? :P

Leb Yellow Butterfly wrote:... until I receive a call from Adry and I got the chance to speak to him, Emilie and Diego

Well, I also told Adry that I wanna talk with you, but seems it was too loud inside and he didn`t understand me!

Hahah, it was a funny moment, cuz the security gave us something, and I hadn`t noticed at the first time it was a flag, so I was looking with a surprised face and told the guy "HEY, there must be mistake, this is not for us". But when we saw the flag + the note from Elie, we understood it WAS for us! And yes, Lebanese flag was next to Russian, Bulgarian, Canadian and Italian one! Very front row 8)

 Yeah, it was my work/office mobile, which eventually turned that had roaming, wow.. But when I called you, you seemed so surprised, I mean like "Who the hell are you" surprised.. But then, when you sent me the sms, I`ve understood that it was 'cause my mobile number was unfamiliar to you.

Gabi, when I saw you in the livestream, I wrote to the others: that's Gabi! you have no idea how much I finally wanted to meet you after all this time of knowing u from the forum and even hearing ur voice on Skype... thank you honey and...next time, yes! (I can almost promise!! as I told you last time hehehe)

Nadia, it was cool to read that about the phone "conversation" that I never heard  even me, in the middle of the song, was so excited and even though I knew u were not going to hear me as the phone was definitely not on your ear, I said: thank you Nadiaaaaa...i was shouting  I couldnt but send my live thanks but then only a written sms could let my voice reach you :D

Kadra, yeah Adry told me later that you wanted to come and talk to me but it was too loud there that you didnt know they were going outside.. no worries, i'll catch u on the phone after all, eh?? and not at 1:00 am!
as per me being surprised not knowing who was calling, well yes I was a little bit and was trying to guess whom it was during the song, but then I thought let me enjoy the song, i'll know whom later, and then it was my friend Google who knows everything :D , he gave me the answer....searched for the code and....BULGARIA! ok, this is another number with my sis :D

Adriana, I really hope you can get to meet some of us this year, I hope u can finally mke it to Europe and feel the power of FOS even more...it was a pleasure to spend this Munich time virtually with you, when we shared the event with our friends! :)

Ron, your words are always special, spiced up with the best Scorpions quotes and special touch... thank you for the support u've been providing for all this time... will I see you one day in the future?! well the future never dies, does it! ;)

Cheeers my friends!
