I know that over the next few days we'll see many reviews and stories of all of the amazing times that people had while in Germany for the last two concerts of the Final Sting tour. I have my own stories to tell of course but that will be for another day when my brain recovers.
I cannot thank everyone enough for the help, support and enthusiasm about this meeting we had at the Hard Rock Cafe. There are just no words to describe it. There could of been so many things that went wrong and while there were a few problems, in the end I have only heard good things so far. (I expect I'll hear more things in the coming weeks, the good and the bad - I hope it's mostly good!)
This took A LOT of work, from the gift bags to the coordinating to making sure everything ran as smoothly as it could and I could NOT do this by myself, although I guess I sort of tried for awhile hah. So I just wanted to give out some thanks to some folks as well as just thank everyone for their patience for some of the confusion at the Hard Rock Cafe. We went through 3 managers in the time we were there and unfortunately there were some issues with the last one that made things not run as smoothly as it should of. But hey, in the end I think it worked out great and I'm not complaining even a little bit.
For those of you with gift bags, there is a card on the M&Ms with the names of those who have helped and without their support, this just wouldn't of happened. So pass along your thanks to them as well because they deserve it with me barking orders at everyone. (I keep on thinking I must of seemed like a lunatic haha)
Anyways huge KUDOS to (in no real particular order):
Delphine - Mon ami, you rocked. From the badges, to the lotto, to the gifts from MJ Guitars, to being there to support me, the invitations directly to the band and crew and heck for being just amazing and awesome. I could not of done this without you - I would not of survived. I cannot thank you enough.
Susan - Lugging baggage that ways 26 or 28 kilos across Europe is NOT easy my friend. You brought a huge amount of the heavier gifts as well as the ducks! They would of never gotten there without you. Also for reminding to feed me that night - haha if it wasn't for that, I would of never of made it.
Curry - What can I say? The scarves were amazing and seeing Klaus pick one up and looking at it at the concert was simply the best. You listened to me and all of my crazy talks, you encouraged me to continue with the meeting even when I thought about canceling it. You are the rock in all of this.
Nadia - My dear, your energy is amazing and so were your gifts to the bag. You helped so much during the event, running around getting the crowd together and making sure things were running as smoothly as they could.
Beth - for more running around and of course the fuzzy hats distribution to everyone!
Beate - For handing me your beer when I needed one the most.
Cristy, Paula - For donating your time and items to the event. The logo was perfect and those posters went out the door like hot cakes.
I am absolutely positive I am forgetting people like Ben who was my bodyguard for awhile and who tried to trick me but I was wise to his ways (but not very fast hah) and Ricky who brought me a coffee just at the right time as well as bringing in more people that eventually wanted gift bags.
So many people - so many I have probably forgotten to mention but know you are in my heart my dear friends for making this silly idea come alive.
Of course thanks to the Scorpions for giving us the excuse to have a party and the Hard Rock Cafe for lending us a place to set up our party.
I would love to hear your impressions of the party - I myself spent most of the night behind the gift bag counter so I was not able to sit back and enjoy it the same way as everyone else. I would love to hear what you thought or liked/disliked. If you don't want to post it here, please send me an e-mail: joanne.laroche@gmail.com
Also there are a few extra gift bags for those interested, the price will be the same (12 Euros) but I just ask for help with postage costs, which shouldn't be too much I hope.
Anyways, this is becoming one of my longwinded posts but I just wanted to say thank you. Merci. Takk, Blogdarya. Spasibo. This was unbelievable and in my eyes successful.
