Well, I used the word convention because the last thread I made that used Meetup/Gathering no one really seemed to notice it. I love the idea of a huge get together but I understand that my ideas and what reality will probably be are different. That's okay.

I think no matter what there will be a meeting - official or not, but I still have some crazy plans.

The only problem, I think, will appear, is that we can`t find 100 people, who will be serious and reliable enough to give money ahead (so that Joanne can plan everything + do the giftbags). Even if each one of us is with a friend or two, I am counting and counting, and we`ll be not more than 50.

Event in Facebook may work, but may work not too. Cause i`ve seen plenty of events for some show and ppl just click "attend" even though the show may be on Moon and they are from Mars and there is no way they can be there I`m affraid of the false number, we`ll gain there, but Joanne has a plan for that too, so I`ll leave it in her hands. But still, I`m worried if really it will be possible to do it with a hundred ppl..

Gabi, be sure you`ll be surrounded by your closest ones.. I wish I was there too, but if you stay till later than 22:30, may be I can do it

Well, the pub is a must. Joanne`s idea was to find a private place, only for us, before going to a pub. Or may be rent a smaller pub just for us? Or ask MJ to open the store at the evening and give it all to us for partying there

It may not be that much of a fantasy, yeah? What an amazing generous offering for Matthias to offer his store for a fan "convention", wouldn't you say? Sometimes, pubs have special rooms closed off to general public that one can rent. What about checking the pub next door to MJG?
BTW, Herman has told me he has no knowledge of what hotel would be good as he lives in Brighton for most the year. Too bad....I feel Matthias would know. He lives there part time as well. Or Stefan for sure since he lives there full time, or at least he did when he used to communicate with me. Just suggestions.

Okay so now that we've given this a few days to discuss - the good, the bad and the POSITIVE! (heh) it's time to start the gears turning.

First things first - we absolutely need to know how many people would definitely go and then if there are any "I'll try but I don't know" fans as well. Once we get an approximate number - whether it's 10 or 100, then we can plan everything else.

No matter what, we will meet on December 16th (evening) it's just a matter of where and if we get some goodie bags or not. I'm all for the bags personally - I admit it - I absolutely love planning these sorts of things and even if I have to bring an extra checked in bag across the ocean to do it, I would love to do it.

So for now - lets say that this unofficial/official conference/convention/meetup is ON!

I'm going to create a Facebook Event page. So people can say "Yes I'm attending." "Maybe" or "No" then from there my next step is to create a mailing list (e-mail) for all those interested (and that do not participate on Facebook) and we can discuss things further on there and send any announcements out as needed to those interested.

So lets see where this goes, no matter what it's going to Munich, the question is how many people will be there and if those attending get some nice stuff to bring home!

Read your Munich thread....Jim from California who wanted to know some info contacted MJ and he got an answer. Me on the other hand. nothing..... me thinks I have lost a friend cuz of my raging emotions. Oh well, nobody's fault but my own.

Okay the event should be public now and viewable by everyone. This will just be a test for a couple of days, if we get a sudden influx of people signing up or any problems, this event goes back to being invite only.

Awesome Joanne, I will post this on FB and emphasize to JOIN ONLY if ur actually going and want to be on the mailing list. So many, as was said before, just JOIN without really going.
