FOS MEETING in MUNICH! December 16th @ 20:00

Unread postby Scorplady » September 8th, 2012, 3:52 pm

Updated November 11th - Just updating the original post for newcomers that might not feel like reading all through this thread!

When: Sunday, December 16th, 2012
Where: Hard Rock Cafe Munich
What Time: 20:00 - 23:00 (and probably later too!)
Who - Well if you are reading this forum, it might mean you are a fan of the Scorpions so YOU!
:)

With the Final Sting Tour coming to the end (or is it) we are going to have a party in Munich, Germany. It's going to be ROCKING and ROLLING - people from all around the world, fans of this band we all love. Please join us!

Here is some things to note -

1) There is a Facebook Page for the event (Please message me if you want to be invited to it - for now it remains private to get an accurate number of people - I will open it to everyone as we get closer to the event.) Don't use Facebook? No problem, message me with your e-mail address and we can talk about it there.

2) We are offering an amazing (okay I'm biased - but I think it's true) gift bag that is limited to 100 people. There will be at least a dozen items inside, from candy to pens to frisbees to just some crazy stuff (most with a Scorpion theme) - these are available for 10 Euros (paid by Paypal in advance by December 3rd) or 12 Euros at the door. This will also include a lotto ticket.

3) Lotto Ticket - In advance (paid by Paypal by December 3rd) is 4 Euros or 5 Euros at the door. Please remember this is for the lottery ticket only - not the gift bag. We will have SEVERAL items to give away in the lottery, from jewelry to well lets just say other things. The complete list of items will be shown at the meetup and depending how many fans show up you've got a very good chance to win! (Only one lotto ticket per fan is allowed - let play fair now. :) )

4) Don't want a gift bag or lotto ticket? No problem! We still want you there - we will be offering badges to wear around your neck just like an official convention, so we know you are with our group. These badges will be required to wear while at the Hard Rock Cafe. These will be offered at a low price (to be determined, but something close to 1 or 2 Euros).

5) Live Stream Video - We are hoping to live stream some video online. More details to come, but since we are a family - those of you who cannot be with us in Munich should feel like you are with us right? (Just remember the time zone differences!)

6) Food & Drink - These are not included - but I know the Hard Rock Cafe always has a good selection of beers as well as some crazy drinks in a collector's glass and of course plenty of things to eat. So it's okay to arrive hungry or thirsty - the Hard Rock Cafe has a great menu to choose from.

That's pretty much it - come to the Munich Hard Rock Cafe, we will have the "private room" available to us, until it gets too full and then we have reserved tables right next to it, so we can all be together.

More details to follow as we have them settled. If you are interested in joining or you don't know for sure - please let me know. It's important we get an accurate count of everyone - and make sure the gift bags (in you want them) are reserved in your name!

It's going to be such a great time please send me a message if you are interested in joining us! So many countries, so many fans and so many smiles. Plus a Scorpions concert the next night. WOOHOO

I hope to see all of you there.

Yet another amazing idea that I think could be incredible if everyone would be on board!!! I mean the Greek Fan Club has fan parties where James and Pawel and Herman have attended in the past. Brazil gets to party with the boys all the time and like Joanne said, it is their last show of their Final Sting Tour and what better way to end it, then to have an all out balls to the wall FOS party?
Make it happen peeps!! If you all don't get on this, well....then that would truly be a travesty!!

As I`ve already told you, Joanne - another great idea! I just hope the forum members, who will attend Munich show will react somehow - doesn`t matter with yes or no, to this thread, cause, after all, to become a reallity, the idea above needs serious planning.

I am just sorry I most probably can`t join, cause, as I told you too, I am landing in Munich too late in the evening, but if you stay till 23:00, may be I`ll have the chance to come for some minutes and give kisses and hugs to everyone.

My fatalism makes me stop here. I`ve stopped planning anymore, but if you need some help for something - just write me!

P.S. Still thinking about ...you know  And still nothing comes to my mind, sorry.. :(

Yes - we need some kind of reaction. Good or bad. That's why I brought it here first. It will take a lot of planning and organization (but I am good at such things) but we can't do it without having people interested in it first.

Don't worry Curry - I'll do all the planning and it will work out! We just need people to be interested and willing to do this of course. :)

We probably need a list of people going to Munich as well. Invite people who are not necessarily on the forum as well - whoever is a fan that wants to join us, young and old - shy or crazy. :)

I theoreticly love your idea Joanne.
I just don't know when we will arrive to Munich, and I won't be alone.
I will have to suit to my Fosteam's wishes, but will try to convince them to join. :D

Isn't that what Joanne was saying, that after the convention, you all could go to a pub afterward? That the convention is for the whole group including kids and then afterward the adults can go drink somewhere close. I think, personally, that Matthias would be a great one to suggest a hotel and the pub since he loves Munich and parttime lives there. I suggested to Joanne that she email him, I hope she does since she is charge of this.
I can also contact Herman since he also parttime lives there and will be in Munich from the 13th of December til January. I would even almost bet on the fact that he would be at MJG and could even go to the convention. Wouldn't that be fantastic?
Anyway, I sure hope this takes off and that the lack of response on this thread at this time is only due to the fact that it's the weekend!!!
Gabi, I would bet that your friends would love to get to Munich in time to celebrate at the FOS convention, the first and last one to ever take place I would bet. End the tour with a bang AND hopefully party with James and Pawel if they go, maybe Herman and wow if Klaus and the others would show up??? I can just see it now  and for it to be all videotaped and hmmmm how does one stream online? I have suggested several times to Matthias to stream his M&Gs online so that the rest of us from all over the world, can "join" in to celebrate with him and the fans who are there. And yet with all his money, he has never done that. I hope it's not cuz he's cheap!! giggle!! :-P

Ben suggested a pub some time ago, plus we have a promised surprise from him, let`s see.. And yes, Pawel and James to join the meeting or the pub meeting seems possible and it will be more than awesome. But I really can`t imagine that the others will show up (even though I`ll die if I see Klaus and co :o   ). May be if the pub has some private rooms, may be, may be.. 8-)

It's so great to see everyone as excited as I am!

As for getting the guys in the band to join us - if it happens it would be a last minute decision I'm sure. If we do this convention then for sure we'll invite them - all of them of course. I think with it being the end of the year and the tour that there is a chance! (Well I can hope anyways, we'll see them at the concert right up front anyways right?)

As for the pub that Ben suggested - we still need to do that! Maybe there is a hotel near the pub that we can have the conference at, so after we all meet up we can head over to the pub afterwards. And others that don't want to go to the conference can go there and wait for us. :) I'm sure we can figure something out.

The problem is trying to get an accurate number of people who will join and having them RSVP in advance and pay the fee - it will cost money to make the bags of goodies and for the conference room. But like I said, if this is a success - any "profit" that is made - if we make more money than it costs to hold this event, then all of that will go to charity. Especially in December, the charities always need the extra help!

Any ideas on how we can get many people interested who will be going? I mean - I don't know how many people fit into the Olympiahalle but getting 100 fans shouldn't be THAT hard right? :)
