Michael and Dokken

Since things have slowed down a bit, I thought this is an interesting news item i saw on Melodicrock.com Basically said that Don is fed up with things and he's already working on a new project with Michael Schenker. Wondering what that would look like being that also Herman and Francis are said to be working too. Don's always been on that outer circle of the family, having done the backing vocals on the Blackout album, but many are not sure just what he has left of his voice anymore. Should be interesting though.

On that note, did nobody else catch Michael jamming with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony at the Vegas Rock Awards?

Don Dokken? I never rated him too highly as a singer (I know he was ready to record blackout, but happily Klaus made an amazing recovery and smshed the microphone for that album!), but now he seems totally worn out, his voice didn't age well... maybe in studio he could still pull out something decent.

Thanks Tom. I watched it live when it was on that night. Was funny with Michael doing that extended solo and Sammy waiting. well he did tell him "do what you want Michael" LOL

That's very interesting news! I'm intrigued. For those who never heard Don into action: they are a big part of rock music industry. Their material from category MUST HAVE!. Thanks boys for news)

Gearing to see DOKKEN this coming weekend...Not sure of the band member line-up.
Dont know if its DON on Vocals,but I HOPE NOT!
sorry but HE SUX!.....no really he sux!
Look , its like this, if you've had your hay day, awesome,but know when its time to hang it up, and in Don's Case, he should have dusted off the coat hanger a long time ago!

I have seen him a few times (with other acts)..haven't seen him hit the mark once in his vocals during that time.

Some of Dokkens recent cds were good .. with Reb Beach on lead .. But George Lynch made the band work ..
But yes these days Don sounds like .. Kermit the frog with his balls in a vise

yes, nowadays Don not so good like in 80-th, not in shape. But last re-recording (classic stuff) album (The Anthems 2011) sound pretty good even without George Lynch.

Looks like he'll be singing on about 12 tracks from Michaels Thank You records and he plays an example of the song Faith. Interesting. Posting the Youtube video of the interview, tried to link it from the point where talks of this, if it does not work it starts at the 13:08 mark.

The song that Dokken is singing over has been played by the Scorpions, and is called Positive Forward. Here it is, it's an awesome song but was instrumental. Looks like Michael is pulling out some of the old stuff, and re-recording it like the Scorpions have mentioned they will do. Sounds good, but I would much rather have Klaus do the singing, Dokken's voice has taken a turn for the worst He can still hit the notes though, as long as they are in his new limited range
