Nothing will surprise me with the Olympics.....just not sure if he is the right person to carry the final torch.....however Mitt Romney has shown that he has no skills at be a diplomat.....

"He told CNN's Piers Morgan on Thursday evening that the Olympics would be “terrific”, blessed with “great weather” and full of “enthusiasm on the part of the people here in London”.

The previous evening he told NBC that he had seen “disconcerting” signs that made it “hard to know just how well it will turn out” at the London games, prompting a sharp rejoinder from David Cameron.

The Republican challenger also raised eyebrows on Thursday by referring to Ed Miliband with the American-style honorific “Mr Leader” and appearing to breach protocol by disclosing that he had met Sir John Sawers, the Secret Intelligence Service chief. "

Could not find the quote button.....but he is here because he has a horse in the games....

Ohh, I am so proud of my nation!
Hungary got its very first medal, a bronze one yesterday by a girl, I don't know the correct name of the sport in English, sorry.
I don't know if something news have happened since that metal, but I especially pray for our swimmers, waterpolo-team, but for everyone, of course.
And of course, I am supporting every, and each Fosmembers-nation. :D

My fair congrats to Serbia.

I didn't follow the hungarian-danish handball match, dunnno the final result.

I must admit I don't watch the games... I'm not much of a sports person. However, I'm going to London on 10th of August, a couple of days before the Games end. :) I'm not going to see any of the action, just visiting my old roommate who is studying in GB and is doing her practical training in London. I couldn't go any other time this summer, so now I get to see the Olympic London! I've been to London before, and I'm actually enthusiastic about seeing how the city has changed for the Games, even if i don't see the Olympics.

I must add, I don't hate the Games, just don't watch sports in general. I appreciate the spirit of the Olympics, the way it brings nations together, I personally just prefer doing sports to watching them. :D

I totally am with you on this. I do take pride in our country and how many medals we are winning, but I don't watch it nor do I care to. I watch my recorded shows like Bait Car. haha But I still keep up with what is going on, how can I miss it, it's on my favorite local station. So I hear what we've won and stuff and the replay. Rawkkk our country!!
But I heard today that our Olympians get taxed heavily for their medals!!!! That is just wrong so very wrong!!! That is like charging a soldier for his weapon that he is carrying.

Hey just saw this.....that is why Search is essential. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12209

The olympic games are a very very strange event. All of a sudden a whole nation is interested in dressage, ping-pong and rhythmic gymnastics
