FOR 50 YEARS??? WHAT A JOKE! HERE IS WHAT I POSTED TO THE TODAY SHOW FACEBOOK PAGE. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR, IT'S ONE OF OUR BIGGEST DAYTIME TALK SHOWS HERE IN AMERICA, BASED IN NEW YORK!!! THEY GAVE R.S. A SEGMENT ON THE SHOW TODAY HONORING THEM FOR THEIR 50 YEARS AND FRANKLY I AM A TAD BIT INSULTED ON BEHALF OF OUR SCORPS!!

RE: Rolling Stones....I am not impressed with celebrating 50 years of a band that has not remained consistant. They have broken up, gone their own ways, stopped touring, stopped recording...etc. While there IS a band that deserves the accolades; who was formed in 1965, who have NEVER stopped touring, never stopped recording and have never broken up!! As a matter of fact they are on their final tour and was in New York just last Saturday and in D.C. last night, doing their FINAL States show. That band is called SCORPIONS!! Do you remember them? For memory sake: They sing Rock You Like A Hurricane, BUT have continued to put out great albums and songs that are more than just THAT one!! They are not honored whatsoever for THEIR accomplishments and their endeavors and their never ending desire to please the fans, giving them 110% on stage, and doing one of the best damn LIVE shows in rock history!! They are iconic and should be more honored than any other band. Because in reality, they are the ONLY band who has remained together throughout the 70's the 80's the terrible 90's until today! They are now going to go to Europe to finish their Final Sting tour and America has completely dissed them!!! Many rock bands have wanted to follow in their footsteps and many could learn what true bandmate brotherhood is all about, from these guys!! Please address this post and give me some insight if you will as to why there is total disregard for them here?l!!! Rolling Stones? Paaahhhleeease!! Give the RIGHT band their honor and dues!!

That's not the point hun....they are not even together anymore and they get recognition for 50 years? I mean really? How do you get accolades of 50 years when the band isn't even together? Doesn't make sense! But I think this lack of respect for Scorps, is partly cuz of the lack of promo here for our boys!! sigh...

BUT, are they even given that recognition of being an amazing band? nooooo Only amongst other Scorps fans, but certainly not here nationally!!

What do you mean? As far as i know they are still very much together....just new pic on their facebook. I think they definetly deserves all the respect, great music.

And I don't give a crap about the music, the fact they are being honored for 50 years is joke since they aren't even a band anymore!!!!! And the point of this protest is that Scorps have never broken up, had drug issues, or have had huge publicized fights and STILL are not given the recognition they so richly deserve. R.S. deserve more respect than Scorps? I seriously don't think so!!

By the way, I may get pissed off at how they are treating fans sometimes or how they go about doing things, but that's just me being a fan voicing my opinion and not kissing ass like so many do. And if I can't be true to myself by speaking my opinion, then screw this world of so called freedom. I speak my mind when I feel the need to...but when all is said and done, Scorps have given me my life back and I have been blessed and have had rich experiences with the boys. And I thank them for that much at least.

To me, if a band no longer tours or records albums and each has gone their own way doing their own projects, then that band no longer exists IMHO! Does that mean that all those 80's bands that have broken up still exist? To me they don't. I would like to know what others think. Cuz truly, the R.S. are no longer a band to me. just sayin... Oh and about Aerosmith, at one time they no longer existed as a band; in name only. But they stopped touring for awhile and fought amonst each other and now they are back together. So, they are a band ONLY when they are together actually working. But let's get back to what really matters!! The Scorps have NEVER EVER stopped PERIOD!! Forget those other bands, our boys are the ONLY ones who have remained consistant and forever loyal to their fans. Well except for certain issues, but that's the world of rock I guess!!

I'm agree with Cristy,Scorps have just one big "hole" in their discography: Eye To Eye,then they always did great albums,always toured through the world (but ALWAYS with a bad promotion,)they always respected the fans(but not nowadys )personally I think they have collected less than what they had to collect...about drugs issues dear Cristy...this is a part of the game ( if I remember well Hermann Rarebell had problems with alcohol in the past....I hope I didn't wrote a *** ) I will always support this band for what they are:just wonderful musicians

Oh Herman freely admits to his drug and alcohol issues, but what I meant was that most bands had such major drug/alcohol probs that it caused serious riffs inside the band that were widely publicized. I don't know how our boys did it, but they avoided all of that riff raff!! I am so damn proud of them!!
Anyway, if you're on FB, put your comment on there. This is one thing I am not stopping anytime soon.

^Yes they have new album coming in november, but the last one was 2001. Altought they released coveralbum in 2004 with one or two new songs, cant remember.

While I always will list the Scorpions as my #1 band of all time, I can't really put too much heat on the Stones. Yes they have not been touring and doing albums on a regular basis but it is still an accomplishment that they have been around so long. 50 years is an landmark no matter which way you slice it. The Stones I have no issue with, they have earned their right and respect. U2 might be another issue now LOL But lets face it, the music industry has always been a mess. The Scorpions will never get the respect they deserve because they are hard rock. And any hard rock band not named Metallica, Ozzy or Aerosmith is going to get no respect unless Viacom/VH1/MTV covers them. Sad but true. Same with the rock and Roll Hall of Shame. So many great bands other than the Scorpions like Rush and Kiss and even Deep Purple. Can you believe Deep Purple who has still been touring and recording gets no respect? It is what it is Cristy. Hundreds of years from now when they tear down the vaults and they find all this ancient music, they'll say this band the Scorpions was really good while they will wonder why bands like U2 were popular. Just my 2 cents.

I love what you said Drew. However, I am just curious...how can a band get credit for 50 years when they have not done anything for several years and aren't even considered a band anymore other than name alone? I am really truly asking cuz I don't get it! Now yes, give them credit for their past endeavors for sure, but not 50 years when the last several haven't even existed. ?? sigh....and I wonder if Scorps will EVER get the respect they so deserve!! Not here I don't think and that's Amend's fault!! grrrr And I for sure am not one to kiss his ass just to get in backstage or interview or whatever. I am real and I will tell it like it is. Amend has ruined Scorps here in America cuz he didn't want to spend money on promo!! IMHO nuff said.

Bands that used drugs have been always more important than "clean" ones...because the binomial rock-drug is perfect....just think to Kurt Cobain,he was always doped but he still is considered like a wonderful artist...and TV shows still talk of him
