My Scorpions Lego Project!

My Scorpions Lego Project!

We really need a new section for all the Scorpions creations folks make! I swear there was a thread somewhere I can't find it. :(

Last winter, I decided to take up a bit of a challenge for myself. To create something out of legos (yes I'm about 30+ years older than most of the normal lego users but I thought this would be fun and hey winters are long in Canada!). Anyways long story short, my initial plans didn't go so well because well legos weigh a lot more than I expected and I don't have the space or muscles needed for it.

So this is what I ended up with (I uploaded my photos to Facebook and it should allow for public viewing if you have any trouble, let me know). I got sick of running out of legos and it got too expensive (I bought the bricks used but yeah still expensive) so I had to do with what I had. I also had to completely redo it because it was way too heavy, but here is the end result:

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... a47619b312

I don't think it will ever be completely finished, but for now I'm done. Not sure what to do with it though, wishing I could donate it for an auction or to the Scorps of course. But then what would they do with it?

Silly winter project is silly. :) At least I'll know for next winter, that I'll choose something much smaller. :)

Anyways I hope y'all like it.

Glad you like it. Yes, I agree with you there are so many talented folks (or just want to be talented folks like me!) who are fans and who have done such amazing things!

Did the Scorpions play in Bulgaria on their current tour? I tried to include all the countries they have gone on this tour, but there is room to add Bulgaria - I know exactly where too. But it won't be right away there are concerts to go to first! :)

There is a topic like this, I think it was in EE. And some awesome stuff has already been posted, so if we could, instead of opening a new one, find the old one since there are some great things on there and we don't want to cover those up with a new topic. Know what I mean? Like....as you said Inna! But there were others that I would like to see that posed in that topic too. So if anyone can find it.....

I would happily ask to shut down this thread if we can find the other one, it probably should be a sticky thread. I just wanted to share with folks the crazy thing I did, but I do not want to take away from others who have done really beautiful pieces of artwork!

No ur not!! I didn't mean it that way, sorry. As a matter of fact, it is truly amazing what you did. I wish you could finish it and somehow get it to one of the boys. I would bet they would put it in Rudolf's studio where they go a lot!!! But I do wish we could find that one where there was so much stuff posted of ppl's artwork. Like I said, if we could only find it, then we could ask them to be merged, yeah?
But so far art and artwork is not bringing it up.... hmmmm. But also there was one time, someone suggested to Wolfgang if we could have a thread of FAN ARTWORK and he never replied. Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe someone, like you, can start one and see if it could be made a sticky. kay? :P

Hey girl, I opened a thread cuz I didn't feel that other's artwork should be in her specific thread about her project. But if she wants to post her art in that thread too, that would be cool! Don't you think?

I love it!!!! I live in a house with a million lego sets that my boys have built over the years (okay, maybe not quite a million....) so I fully appreciate the time you put into it, and especially your design! Awesome! When you don't want it anymore I'll take it off your hands..... 8) :D

How will you move it if it weighs a ton? :P I still think that it should go into Rudolf's recording studio where the boys recorded some of SITT!!!

Oh it can be moved with some help and probably lots of bubble wrap. I thought of getting a wooden board with some wheels on it so I can move it around here at home. But I'm sorta of thinking of destroying it into a pile of rubble.

Of course if someone has a better use for it, (Makes me laugh thinking it could go in Rudolf's studio - I never even considered such a thing) I would love to see it in a better destination. I think it probably weighs about 60-75lbs, but because it's so cumbersome and the bricks weren't meant for the weight it makes it pretty fragile when moving it around.

But I'll admit demolishing it into a pile of bricks is very tempting. :)
