My turn for a review!
Las Vegas was a strange show for me. This was the first time I have ever been located at the front of the catwalk - I mean really at the front it was so awesome (so if I had my camera - instead of butt shots I would of gotten crotch shots this time around). Anyways...the section I was in was not sold to the general public it wasn't even listed on the venue map. There were 2 rows and the people next to me were there as guests from one of the members in the group...the people next to me didn't know the Scorps very much and the lady next to me who was really nice kept on pointing out if she knew a song or not, turns out she knew 4 of the songs they played. It was weird not being next to another fan up at the front though I will admit.
The filming guy annoyed me to no end, he was always in front of me. There has got to be a better way to film these things, it's bad enough we as fans always have one of those huge security guys in front of us all the time, but cameras are annoying too. But thankfully about 4 or 5 songs into it, he moved off to go somewhere else (he returned later but didn't stay too long).
Rudolf had an amazing amount of energy that night in Vegas, he was dead on. I also think he was laughing at me because everytime he was in front of me I would mock his movements (going side to side). I couldn't help it! I'm usually off to the side of the catwalk, this was new to me too.

I think Pawel was in "Film making mode" as he didn't really connect with the crowd as much as I saw him in LA/SF/Reno. He didn't really come up to the front all that much either. Matthias looked terribly happy though. Klaus looked very healthy but a bit tired compared to the night before (I think they had an early flight?) so I get the feeling he gave it his all for Vegas. James seemed a bit more toned down than the previous night, might be because of the filming or just tired. His smile is infectious though, you can tell he loves what he does.
With my purple flag "From Canada With Love" I did get some attention. The security guy in front of me said I couldn't hang the flag over the barrier but I did anyways and he didn't say anything about it. A Matthias wave as soon as he saw the flag - funny I think it's the first time I received Matthias recognition and I think I'm still in shock. But then again I'm not going crazy after any member of the group, love them all. James always ends up looking my way and either mouths "You again" or sends those little finger hearts my way.
Honestly I didn't notice the sound all that much, but being in front of the catwalk makes a difference for seeing the whole show with everything. I did think that Klaus' voice was really nice though...I think he was laughing at me too, which makes me laugh. Poor guys having to see me going nuts there. It can't be a pretty sight!
I could complain about the set list - because I always want them to swap out a few songs - but the more I hear it (4th time for the NA tour) I think it's got some great momentum and I can see why they keep it the same. I'll still hope that they swap out a song for their Canadian dates next week.
I did get backstage before the show and met up with Klaus again - he must think I'm stalking him or something I felt so embarrassed meeting him again and I didn't know what to say. I could imagine him thinking "Not her again." Always a pleasure to meet him, but I don't want to be "that fan" that becomes annoying or disrespectful. I couldn't even muster the courage to grab a photo of just the both of us. I know for all you Klaus fans, you will find it funny how embarrassed I felt. Love Klaus, but I don't want him to think I'm in love with him or anything.
After the show I headed backstage again - TyotaPatty was there but even though we met earlier we didn't really recognize each other and I think we ended up standing next to each other for 10-15 minutes before it was like "HEY I KNOW YOU!" We hung around awhile with quite the entourage waiting for the guys to show up. (I figured they had already gone away but I was surprised that they were still there.) Ended up meeting up with Rudolf and James from afar, he gave me the same look he gave me on stage "You again eh?" with a strong nod of recognition. We headed out after that, my ride abandoned me and I was promptly told I wasn't allowed to walk back to my hotel alone because it was not safe enough.
I was so tired after that show, I ate a half of a pretzel all day and when I got backstage I was more than depleted of all necessary body requirements. There was water available and I grabbed a packet of sugar to eat so that I could actually walk to the car. I won't do that again, that was dangerous health wise.
Even though I had such bad luck in LA with my camera being stolen, I went to this show in Vegas with my heart on my sleeve so to speak. Ready to just enjoy the music and forget about the troubles I had. Scorpions music does have the ability to heal. I still cry during Holiday - but it can't be helped it is the song we played at my Mom's funeral when they took her casket away (she loved the Scorpions) so it's just a flurry of emotions for me.
As always the Scorpions rocked. I am humbled by their presence and never want it to end!
