Vinyls are really the best. 8) Once my teacher of German gave me a vinyl of Uriah Heep - Return to Fantasy, 1975. What a delight it was to listen.. :D I only have some vinyls with classical music, so that was the first record of rock music I held in my hands.

Yes, my mother tongue is Russian. But I'm.. let's say.. a bit passionate about English. I could never get enough of grammar and prepositions and phrasal verbs and and and..
Don't you be mistaken! One should learn as many languages as possible. Only English is never enough. So I'm learning German now.

I love Nirvana, and I've heard of Alice in Chains and Soundgarden but never listened to them much. Never heard of the other 2. Are they big around there?

I was gonna ask what vinyls were, then I looked it up, it looks exactly like a record. Or what we call a record, maybe you call it that but it's the same thing. (I think....) & Yeah, I would have loved to take German. I've never taken a language class before, so I don't know how hard it will be.

I think that's true for the most part. But what would you consider a classic? 80's and before?

Gripshift-
Those bands are all from Seattle. Heart and Queensryche were bigger in 80's & 90's not so much
now.
Classics are not just from the 80's and before. I'm not far from Boston so bands from
around here are Aerosmith, Boston, Godsmack, Staind. Can't think of any others right now.
Oh no wait New Kids On the Block they're from the Boston area.
But have you heard of any of those bands?

To Scorps27, I've heard of Aerosmith, I have a few of their songs on my Ipod. I either know bands with huge popularity or bands that no one has really ever heard of before. :P Not a very mainstream kind of person, but it's not like I've been living under a rock either, tho it seems like it :)

Sorry, I keep forgeting it.. That was School's Out by Alice Cooper. 8) Oh I love his songs. Never mind the voice, I like the lyrics. They're funny and serious, sexy and innocent. Anything you want. Btw, I made my dad listen to Alice.. and he liked it. :)

My dad listens to country music and old stuff
He's a backwoods kind of guy who is into electronics. Anyone else here love Def Leppard by the way? I do, me me me! :D
As for Alice Cooper, not sure I know the name but I probably know the music. Now that I'm on summer break, I'll only be able to get on once a week, on Sunday. See y'all next week :P have a good time!

Mine mostly prefers blues, but he has no choice but to listen to rock, especially since my mum started listening to Metallica. 8)

Not having internet at home has some benefits for the health I believe. Still I admire you because I'm way too used to surfing the net whenever I like.

And I do like DL too. :)
