Why Tesla? I'd rather see Cindirella or any other band, besides tesla. Not saying they're bad or anything. But couldn't there be a better choice? Just saying.

I say the same about Red Rocks!!!! One of the best outdoor venues in the country and they are having TESLA???? I just find that insulting! Sorry to the Tesla ppl, no offense. I just think they could have and SHOULD have gone with Michael Schenker's group or any younger band that is powerful (Halestorm, etc) and would bring in a younger crowd to show off what Scorps could do, to the other group's fans!!!
I shake my head in amazement. Also I am just disgusted about the promo!! I mean there literally is NOTHING and it's RED ROCKS!!! There are all sorts of commercials about other bands and usually the TV stations are full of who is coming to The Rocks!! But nothing about Scorps. I mean really??? Amend, what is the matter with you?

Whats with all the Tesla hating :?:
They could have Kool and The Gang open for them
Wait their too busy opening for Van Halen right now
Maybe KC and The Sunshine Band would make ppl stop complaining ..
I still think that Lenny Kravitz would have been perfect to open for The Scorps

I haven't seen Tesla before, hoping they'll be good. Ratt opened for Scorps in Atlanta 2010 and I did not like them at all. If I could have picked someone to open it would be Cinderella. Those guys ROCK!

I just saw Van Halen and "Kool and the Gang" LOL! I wasn't expecting much from Kool but, those guys were pretty awesome, and I really did like them. I'd forgotten so many of their songs. Somehow it really was good! Still laughing about it!

Saw Cinderella open for the boys twice in 2010. It was great seeing them again after almost 10 years. Partied with them in 1991 and then partied with them a little while in L.A. 2010. What a difference 10 years makes. Jeff is lookin fine!
I am NOT hating on Tesla, just that with the sort of venue The Rocks is, they could have had a much better opener; whether it's Kravitz, Halestorm, or MICHAEL AND HERMAN AND FRANCIS!!!! :P

I also saw Kool and the Gang open for VH back in March in Washington DC and they had the crowd on their feet for most of their set. I was stunned..I was one of those people that was scratching my head wondering why Kool and the gang!!! and now i know why they were very talented and put on a very good live show..

Sorry but Cinderella sucks and i'm tired of having the Scorps have a band open for them that has not been relevant in 20 years. I have seen TESLA twice opening for Def Leppard in 1988 and headlining in 1992 and both times they were weak. I love their studio material just not a fan of them live in concert.

That is why i wanted Black Country Communion they have released back to back top 30 studio CD's in the billboard charts in 2010-2011. They are amazing live in concert.

I do prefer Queensryche over TESLA and Cinderella...they were less hair metal and more straight ahead HARD ROCK...at my show in Washington DC July 12 no opening act as of right now..still hoping for MSG with Herman but that is a longshot!!!

Queensryche is a band I would love to see more than any other, besides Halestorm. I had a momentary loss of memory, but that is the band that would be amazing to see with Scorps!!
I have always loved Cinderella, and they are trying to make a comeback as much as any 80's band. They put on a great show both times in 2010 that I saw them. Jeff is still a killer guitar player, in some ways, better than.....well never mind.
But more than anything, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Michael and Herman opening for the boys, but after Herman's book....I really doubt they will have him on the same stage. Just my opinion. It's like Herman told me when I said that MSG needs to be the opener, "everything in life has a reason".

Cristy i understand for a farewell tour to grab a band from your era. So a young upcoming band is not right for a farewell tour. But since the Scorps-Queensryche have never done shows together i think that tour would of been very successful. In fact the New York and New Jersey shows with Queensryche are selling well right now. At the RED ROCKS show you can show up late or just meet up with other Scorps fans while Tesla is on stage.

the reason i suggested BCC is that all members are not new musicians they all have a huge history and that is why both Scorps-BCC touring together would of been successful.

Yeah it sux that we can't see Queensryche too!! But usually Red Rocks is announcing it's Summer shows and I haven't heard a damn thing about Scorps!! WTH?
As far as Halestorm tho, I think they would have loved to have opened for Scorps AND ....wait, maybe Scorps wouldn't have wanted this young powerful band to open. Remember when Scorps were young and powerful and the other bands they opened for were not so keen on it cuz Scorps blew them off stage? just sayin....
Anyway, back to Queensryche!! :P

BTW, Halestorm has been around for awhile now, it's just that for whatever reason, as incredible as they are, they haven't come to this part of the country!! ??

I'm going to disagree about Queensryche. I've seen them live years ago and I can't say I was impressed at all. All that screeching we could of been in a bat cave. (Don't get me wrong, I actually like Queensryche, but live was not a good experience.)

Saw Cinderella open for the Scorps in 2010 as well. Why on earth would they tour with the same opening band again? It would be a joke - the farewell to the farewell tour? I though Cinderella did a pretty good job as opening group - but seriously don't they have anything new to play? Or at least they could of done some of their more obscure songs like from Long Cold Winter.

Tesla live is a hit or miss, I've seen both. I really do enjoy their studio work and at least they aren't a hair/glam/make up band from the 80s. Just a jeans/t-shirt head out on stage do your thing type deal.

There are so few current metal bands and they are probably in high demand. I think the Scorps would do better here in North America if they had more than one opening group. Perhaps one more current group, one old school and save the best for last. :)

Oh I wasn't saying that Cinderella should open for them again. It was just an ongoing conversation. But I still would love to hear someone more current open for the boys. However, I am still pissed about them not having MSG tho. I wonder what was up with that? Amend didn't want Herman and MS and Francis on the bill or what? Again, America gets screwed without being kissed!

Uhh how is America getting screwed over? I would take Tesla over the local groups that have been opening for them the last year overseas.

I won't disagree with you, I was hoping it would be MSG too, but I'm not going to cry because it's Tesla. They put on a good show and we at least know who the opening group will be - in some places it's still a mystery!

Look on the bright side of life. *Whistles*

So true!! ha
But if you would ask many of the long time fans dating back to the early 80's and on, they would also say we are getting screwed over. We have been for a long time. We don't get anything like what Europe and Russia do. I don't blame the boys tho, I blame their ever loving managment. just sayin..... And as far as Tesla at THEEE RED ROCKS??!! Yeah I'm crying!!

Save your tears for the last show you get to go to, I know it will be an emotional one for me!

I think there are probably lots of factors to blame. But the end result, we get to see the Scorpions live without a trip over some ocean. I'm happy. :)
