I did not know that.....Ireland are second in their qualifying group and their only lost was to Russia.....who are first in that group.....so why would the Italians be afraid...... :happy-bouncyshadowgreen:

Yeah, I was thinking of you, Nada, during the match.
As for Robben - it was his fatal match, he made some disastrous mistakes.
But BVB played brilliantly and deserved this victory :D

I'm so happy for them! Another game will be against Schalke 04.

Hi Kathy,

because of the coach Giovanni Trapattoni. Already before the draw the italian press and some players said they didn't want to face ireland in the tournament. And after the draw the press (for example the gazzetta dello sport) titled 'we will play against spain and Trap(attoni)"

because I haven't watched the match yet. But what the press said this was a deserved win for the BVB. Now it's nearly sure Dortmund will be german champion. Ok, then Bayern has to win the Champions League.

It seems the feeling is mutual......I forgot about the Republic's coach..... :happy-bouncyshadowgreen:

interesting. Here's what I found about international press comments on eurosport:

„Corriere dello Sport”/ITalien: „Spanien und Trapattoni - was für Fallen für Prandellis Italien.” (=Spain and Trapattoni - what pitfalls for Prandelli's Italy!)

„Tuttosport”/Italien: „Spanien und Trap – das wir hart für Italien.“ (=Spain and Trap - that will be hard for Italy)

„La Repubblica”/Italien: „Nicht nur Spanien, sondern auch noch Trap: Italien zittert.” (not just Spain but also Trap. Italy shivers)
