Sag mal, als man "make sb do sth" meint, sagt man meistens "lassen"?
Is it used more often than "zwingen" in this particular sense? Or is "zwingen" used in completely another situations?

Du kannst zwar 'zwingen' schreiben, aber so richtig passen tut es nicht. 'jmd. zwingen'='to force so'. Im vorliegenden Fall hatten die Anderen (also die Mitschüler) aber noch eine Wahl (=es selber zu machen). Da sie aber eigentlich (<- da ist das Wort!) doch keine Wahl haben (weil sie es nicht können), kannst du auch 'zwingen' benutzen.

it's not as unfair as you think, because the formal you is 'Sie' not 'sie'. There are only two different versions, but that's the same as in english. It's similar to english where you don't know if one or more persons are meant when you say 'you'.

yeah maybe I only need to get used to them, haven't started my courses yet but I am reading a bit of grammar, conjugation, vocab, etc..I didn't go through easier times when I learned arabic or french...

wir sind (we are)
ihr seid (you are)
sie, Sie sind (they, Thou - are)

Ich habe "Sie" als "Thou" von dem alten Englisch übersetzt.

guys I found this joke but I think it fits this topic the most:
