I started remembering the original story behind them, too, because I was preparing myself to give an explanation to a newer forum member who missed our steamy posts back then. Yes, it was about throwing clothes (or other) on stage. I think Hans was saying "not fair!" because he wouldn´t have any bra or tiny slips to throw to get their attention. So, he graciously agreed to throw 'lovekillers' (a most unsexy piece of men´s underswear :!: ) although he - we all, actually - wasn´t so sure about the result
Do you remember Galya, that Hans had a picture of them as his avatar for a while, which made some people very upset , because it showed the 'ingredient' much too clearly - I supposed they WERE sexy, then, in some people´s eyes ...heeehh heeeehhh

Absolutely! And besides, the minute someone (Ben or anyone else) comes up with a suitable trivial question, the lovekillers will be tossed aside

show was named "It Started In Poland" and commemorated events from 1989 (in some east european countries comunism ended that year)

So here´s a little story from that gig we played in June 2009 in Gdansk

It happened at the ship yard and there was a huge stage built cuz there was almost 90000 people expected.
At stage left side there was a 60mter catwalk where there was some kind of red Domino Cubes, each as a symbol to the fromer communist countries in eastern Europe. The idea was that Mr Walesa tips the first domino cube which was symbolising Poland and than cube by cube all the other ones fall down - like domino.
60 mins before this should happen somebody from the polish TV Station came and said I have quickly to move the truck from the stage side, cuz the TV director was afraid of the contrast of colours. Truck is green/yellow and the domino cubes where red and it was already sundown time.
I couldn´t move the truck for there was muddy ground and so it was decided to cover the whole truck with black drapes. It looked like David Copperfield´s magic event when he covered an Oriental Express waggon and let it disappear. The local crew needed endless rolls of black drapes but the truck didn´t disappear at all even I spoke all magic phrases I´ve ever heard. It stayed where it was, just black covered. The TV director was happy his colour contrast was okay after "hiding" the truck so Mr. Walesa could tip the domino cubes with getting standing ovations.

I can see some die-hard fan copying your text and adding it to his/her private encyclopaedia of Scorpions

Thanks for the interesting story, Ben. That is something that only a sCREWpions member could know first hand

Okay, here´s the next question.......

As for the last few have been way too easy to answer, here´s something You cannot just google.....

to what European show did the Scorpions truck have the longest trip to travel in the last five years? It´s not the distance I am asking for it ist the travel time..... The journey was for this show only, that means leaving the Scorpions warehouse in Hannover to the gig and back. Maybe one of Rod Stewart´s top ten hits might be helpful
