Crazy things are happening there in Cluj. The arena holds 30.000 people and 40.000 tickets are sold The press says that the 10.000 tickets are sold on the black market/.

It was fabulous! The best Scorpions show I have ever seen. Full 2 hours and a couple of surprises for the real fans in the setlist!

Just a few hours before I leave Romania to ride back to Germany I´d like to say THANK YOU to all the Romanian fans, the entire local stuff (especially Dorian, Ana-Maria, Florin, Minel, Christian and Gabriel) and the very polite citizens of Cluj for making my almost one week stay here so nice. It was a great show last nite in a phantastic new arena.

Fantastic show on a fantastic arena in an unforgettable night! About the surprises at James solo i thought he's gonna play the full I'm leaving you, is one of my favorite songs! But Always somewhere was also amazing! See you in Geneva...I hope!

ummm...what are the surprises?Just Always somewhere?And surely played in acoustic version I go crazy for the original version...I think "the best is yet to come" should be the last song of all scorps' shows,cos' it represents the perfect scorpions' philosophy full of positive thoughts!!!

Yeah, and that's whay i think we should do something and convince them to continue to sing. it's up to us I know i'm selfish, they are geting old, want to retire and have a nice quiet life with their families, i sure would want the same. But at list from time to time they could organize small tours in the places were, after so many years, they still are so popular. I'm checking now youtube, i already see a lot of concert videos posted and i feel the emotion growing.
The setlist was a bit weird, nothing from Unbreakable, Humanity, Pure Instinct, Face The Heat or Savage Amusement. But 3-4 from Blackout and 3-4 from Love at First Sting and of course Sting in the Tail.
Anyway, all in all, the show was amazing, my wife, not a die hard Scorps fan , was impressed by their great professionalism and especially but Klaus' voice, for his age he is better then ever. That's why i'll say it again, they could go on like this for ten 10 year at list Also Rudolf, as always, is in good shape And of course Kottak - the best entertaining drummer along with big video screening. Very emotional moment during Kottak's drum solo combined with band and albums history played on background.
The audience was great too, the stadium is perfect for events like this and for footbal games of course. Even people still didn't learn to scream "the zooooooooo" i think i was the only one from my area to say it out loud but who heard me! But it was nice to see people lighting the area with so many phone lights.
We should congratulate also the other bands (except Voltaj :p with their kindergarden music and almost naked school girls).
This is my short review and i really hope the best is yet to come

Having promised it, here is my review of the show in Cluj-Napoca.

I must say from the beginning that this was, for me, a dream come true: my favourite band in my home town. I could not even imagine this a few years ago, but thanks to the new stadium, it became real. Despite not living in Cluj anymore, I could not miss this, so I organised all my stuff so that I could be home at the beginning of October.

"Scorpions in Cluj" started for me Friday evening, when I was present at their press conference - my initial job is journalist, so I had no problems with attending it. It was the 3rd pre-concert press conference of the Scorpions that I have attended. Like all the previous ones, there were not many "smart" questions -I would say it is normal, since not a lot of people are familiar with the great history of the band. Klaus and Rudolf were the ones talking most of the time, with short interventions by Matthias - more preocupied by the beauty of the Romanian hostesses - and James. Pawel seemed really tired after the flight... but there was enough time to rest until the show.

I arrived at the stadium about five hours before the concert - I did not want to miss a good place close to the stage - so I had the chance to view the entire show. It started with Grigore Lese and Sensor (drummer's band - the guys use barrels instead of real drums), after that the bands Semnal M and Pacifica were on stage. Voltaj, a band which I personally do not like at all, but which can heat up the atmosphere, were the last ones on stage before "the big moment".

The almost 30 minutes wait before the real show was totally worth. I got a chance to take a rest and also secure a great place - again, thanks to my jorunalism background - I had the chance to stay between the audience and the stage (thanks very very much Ana Maria). I could take pictures only at the beginning, at the first 3 songs, then I stopped and enjoyed the show!

In one word, I can say - AWESOME!

The biggest surprise for me was Always Somewhere. And I say this because at the press conference, one of the questions was refering to this song. Being asked why they do not play it anymore and if they think of playing it in Cluj, Klaus Meine said that he does not think. But left a little window open, ending his answer with "But who knows? You will see".

Whe Holiday started, it was clear for me that the whole audience was "conquered". Then, James did what he knows best - a real show! It was really great, I had the impression that he brought a lot of energy to Romania and that he enjoyed it more than I have seen in other shows. And the audience really loved it.

As for the end... it was obvisous that this part would be the favourite for everzone. Still Loving You, Wind Of Change and Rock You Like a Hurricane are the songs which everyone knows, even if he is not a Scorpions fan, so nothing could go wrong And the finale with When The Smoke Is Going Down... superb!

I have seen 5 Scorpions concerts so far - 1993 and 2004 in Bucharest, 2007 in Sibiu, 2011 in Berlin (with Babelsberg Film Orchestra) and now in Cluj. I can say for sure, the last one was the best. I felt the band enjoyed it really much, the audience was captivated by the Scorpions, the venue was great for such a great show - the Scorpions really deserve to play in front of a crowd of 40.000.

And to make my experience even better, I went home with a pick from Pawel and a drum stick - my first real souvenirs from the Scorpions.

Vasi, thanks for your review! I visited a show in Donetsk, Ukraine some weeks earlier and also stood between the stage and the audience. You can read it in my review. Though I'm not a journalist I've also been 6 times to their pre show press-conferences. So I can understand your feelings

I was at this great concert in Cluj, and here are some photos. I've uploaded all pictures taken by me. Note that i'm not a professional photographer, and some photos are not so great, but nevertheless some of them are really good. Right in the middle of the concert i ran out of batteries, for my disappointment, and right then i managed to get in the first row, not in second, or third as i was earlyer.

The show was greater then the one in Bucharest in summer. Between 40 and 50.000 people attended this concert. It was crazy. I live 700 kilometers of Cluj, and i have driven 11 hours, just to see Scorpions, and it worthed all the effort. I have to make hotel bookings weeks earlyer, and in the day of the concert all pensions and hotels in Cluj were full!!
