Just got back home from Donetsk. These were very cool days and many great things happened. My full review including airport meeting, press-conference, work with sCREWpions, fan meeting, the show and backstage moments will be tomorrow. I need to have a rest!

Just arrived in Cluj Romania ready for the next Scorpions Show. Thanks to all ukrainian fans who made my stay in Donezk so nice, especially to my friend Viktor from Kiev who did a phantastic job at the customs in Yagodin and Porubnie.
Special "NO THANKS" to those cops who charged me 300 Hrivna when leaving town saturday morning. I still do not really know what for I´ve got charged but anyway, shall tose two cops burn in hell some day.
I really hope we´ll be back next year in Ukraine

My review. Part 1

Last year when Scorpions came to Kiev and Odessa I created a special group at vk.com community dedicated to these shows. There I found many fans from Odessa. When we got the news about show in Donetsk we decided to go together. Since july we often met discussing all the questions about our trip. One of the guys even painted a picture for Scorpions which he wanted to present to them personally. That’s why we decided to contact promoters and ask if there’s a possibility of such meeting with the band. So one day they agreed with our proposition and told us to write a special message to Scorpions. Besides the written message we also sent a special video message which we shot together during one of our meetings. Promoters sent it to Peter Amend (Scorpions manager) who had to make a final decision about the meeting. About a week before the show we were informed that the meeting with the band will take place! Few days later the promoters decided to gather more other fans and made an online contest choosing about 30 people.
So at 28th of September we left Odessa by train. We had really fun time on the road and about 6.20 a.m. on the 29th of September we came to Donetsk. It was very cold there and as we had a lot of time till settling in apartments (12.00 a.m.) we stayed in one of the cafes near the train station to drink some hot drinks and eat something. When it was the time to move to our apartments we sat on a trolleybus which took us all over the city. So we had a visual tour of Donetsk which seemed to me a nice city as I was first time there. After reaching the apartments and leaving our stuff there we moved to airport to meet the band.
As we contacted the promoters we had some privilege. So some of our girls were asked to present flowers to Scorpions members. Others were waiting for them at the special meet & greet area in the airport. Again we had a privilege to come to them first. As I said before there about 30 fans who won the online contest. Most of them came from various cities and even countries. At the appointed time one of the promoters appeared with Peter Amend. Later Scorpions appeared in the hall. After some minutes security opened the doors of the M&G area and allowed 2 people to enter. After it another 2 people could enter. But then P.Amend unexpectedly told these 4 people to leave this area explaining that our guys have no time for M&G. After it Scorpions left the airport. That was a real disappointment for all the fans who came there. But promoters promised that planned meeting will take place on the next day.
After the fail of M&G me and 2 other guys from our fan-group were waiting for sCREWpions (funny name of Scorpions crew) at the airport. We had an agreement with the promoters to work with them as the translators between them and local crew. We met the guys and drove to the hotel “Victoria”. We helped them to check in and 2 of our guys left with them the hotel for the venue – “Olimpiyskiy” stadium. I went to “Donbass palace” hotel for the Scorpions press-conference. It took about 30 minutes. I could ask 1 question about tour plans for the next year and a very last show. Rudolf told that next year they plan to visit Russia, USA, Canada, Mexico, South America and Asia. As for the last show they don’t know yet where it will take place. He said that they get many propositions and have to choose the right one. So that means that Wacken show won’t be the very last one. Also they talked about new album “Comeblack”. Btw Pawel wasn’t at the press-conference and he even didn’t came to Donetsk by that time. Also when musicians enter the press-conference hall Matthias recognized me saying “Hi”. Then he showed me air guitar and said (I could read it on his lips) that they will play “Living For Tomorrow” – the song which me and other fans requested at this forum! So I was more than happy to hear it!

Thank you for your part1, it was an excellent report, I enjoyed reading it.
I am so very sorry again for the disappointed fans, but am happy for you to help the screwpions, and to follow the pressconference.
I hope that the band will choose an ideal place for the last show.

Part 2.

After the press-conference I went to our apartments where we had a great party! I slept not so much because of it. Me and Alex woke up the next day about 7.30 a.m. A driver came to us and drove to the hotel “Victoria”. We picked up some sCREWpions – Marcus, Sebastian, Greg and Scorps cameraman. At 9.00 a.m. we were at the venue. Other sCREWpions came later with the 3rd translator – Vlad. Scorpions truck driven by Ben was already on the stadium waiting for unloading equipment. Later we’ve got special passes which gave us an access to all areas on the venue. So we also could be on stage, backstage, at production office and band members’ area. We were there during the whole day watching this process. It was very interesting experience for me.
Also in the morning we’ve got an official confirmation that M&G will be at 6 p.m. at special area in the venue. Again all the fans which were at the airport the day before the show came to this M&G. Finally there was the whole band and everybody could present their gifts, make photos with band members and sign their stuff. M&G was not so long. I think about 10 minutes. But everybody were happy.
Before the Scorps there was an Ukrainian pop-rock band “Skryabin” playing on stage. Their performance was later than it was scheduled so they played just 2 songs just when we were at M&G. When I came to stage I saw many fans in the VIP FAN-ZONE. So it was already impossible to be closer to stage. Than me and my Scorps friend Dima from Kiev realized that we can stay in security area between the stage and fence. By that time there were photo and TV cameras which had to shot during the first 3 songs. P.Amend also came there and told us to leave that area together with photo and video cameramen. But we were lucky that day. When everybody left it we just stayed there until the end of the show and nobody said a word about it.
I won’t stop on every song they played that night. Just some facts about it. Setlist was similar to the tour setlist except “Living For Tomorrow”. Klaus announced it saying that they play it not often but this time it was a fan request. That was a real magic hearing one of my favorite Scorps tracks! And I must say that crowd sang it very loud. But unfortunately in general the crowd wasn’t so loud. There were approximately 11000 people. Not so much for stadium but anyway a good number. Also before the show I saw setlist (later I can show the pic) and the last song was “When The Smoke Is Going Down”. I don’t what happened but they didn’t play it. If I remember well there was a similar situation somewhere this or last year.
At the end of the show Matthias and later Pawel gave us their guitar picks. After the show I was on stage where Peter and Ingo (Rudy’s and Matt’s guitar techs) also presented to me some various guitar picks. So now I have a good collection of them.
Later we came to band members’ area but Scorps left the venue immediately. But we could meet Tanya Sazonova and talk to her some minutes. That day we were too tired so we said good bye to sCREWpions and went to our afterparty!
For me it wasn’t the best show in this tour but surely a very good one. I’m happy that I had a new experience. BIG thanks to the promoters – “Cultural Revolution” agency and especially to Kseniya Tsukareva! BIG thanks to Scorpions for everything! We can’t get enough! Waiting for you in UKRAINE next year!!!

No clue about plans next year my friend, am just thinking for the rest of this year which will be enough shows ahead.
All I can say it wasn´t only me enjoying Ukraine these days, all of the sCREWpions and I guess the band as well had a phantastic time and a lot of fun, so why not coming back next year.
I just have a little personal request: Please maintain the highways and get Your cops to be a little bit more polite and nice. They should try to consider that even truck drivers are human and not their private sponsors

It's a pleasure to hear you enjoyed these days in Donetsk. But I think it's not sCREWpions or band members who choose where to play. I hope that they'll get an invitation from some Ukrainian promoter to play here next year. Kharkov or Dnepropetrovsk is quite possible as they didn't play there during this tour. But it would be great if they can return to Odessa

Going back to Russia in 2012??? COME ON!!! They just made a whole tour in Russia. What the fukc is wrong with them?? Go and play other countries.

Respect for Russia and Russian friends but this is just ridiculous. They just keep saying "its the last show here, the last show there". I dont believe them. Im disappointed in them

Why do you worry so much? I see they play in Belgium some shows. Also a big tour in France last year, this year and next year. I think they have more shows than Russia. And by the way Russian promoter said that next year they'll be in cities which were missed this year. And as I wrote earlier they don't choose where to play. If they receive invitations from local promoters they go wherever they are invited. So if there's no invitation from some countries it's not a Scorpions fault

well, for all huge russia they played less than 10 concerts this year, in little france there r so many dates...so, why not to return in russia to play in the cities missed this tour? For example Nizhnij Novgorod or Ekaterinburg, big cities with more than a million abitants. what's wrong with playing there?

I am confused about the invitation part of this.....I thought booking concerts was part of the managements duties.....meaning I thought it was management that made the phone calls to get the bands booked in most cases.....why would a band who knows many countries wants to see them not make an effort to contact a local promoter to book concerts....
