So you spend half of the day near arena? Sounds good.:) I was a bit surprised when I came and saw only 4 people standing and waiting. And it was already 5 PM. I really expected to see more Scorpions music lovers at that time.

You asked for detailed review, so don't be surprised why it came out so long =) So...

“I have really no words strong enough to describe…” – Scorpions in Vilnius 30.05.2011

That was two days ago. I’m looking now at the clock and think: “Straight two days ago I was standing in the front row, looking at Scorpions and couldn’t believe it is really happening!” It was like yesterday. The dream that came true in one evening. Two hours of pure joy, energy, admiration and tears of happiness. Two hours of polylogue between musicians and each person in the crowd in heart language. So little and so much at once.
I see the everything in my memories so clear: faces, stage, rays of light… I hear so well these sounds like they’re still sound right now. It melted inside my heart and makes me feel inspired and happy. Till now. Really, it was like yesterday…
Would you recall the everything with me?

The morning was rather boring, like each Monday. I had German classes, and I was sitting in the room, looking at my teacher and yawning. I wanted to sleep and I didn’t feel any “holiday inside”. I told to myself: “Dasha, you will see Scorpions this evening. In front of you. You will be parts of the same action – and it will be awesome!” – but it didn’t wake any new emotions.
After the classes I was walking to my hostel, listening to Scorpions in my headphones, but I still couldn’t believe I will hear all these songs live in the evening. That I will see the people who wrote them, who put pieces of their souls into them. For me it was too hard to understand, because it is difficult to imagine something you never saw and felt before.
At the hostel I chose the clothes which I wear when my soul want rock. So I came out wearing black jeans with metal belt and shawl with skulls, black tank top, red jacket which is made in rock-style and, of course, red scorpion on my neck. I took with me huge Belarusian flag which was signed with warm words by the friends from my Motherland and me, of course.
The day was sunny and warm. It was great, because the days before were rainy and cold. I rushed to the bus-stop, to catch the bus to “Siemens-Arena”. It was only about half past eleven – but I didn’t want to sit in my hostel waiting. And, fortunately, Daniel from Russia decided to come early too, so I was promised to have a company. We really met and came to the ticket-office to find out where will be the entrance to the dancefloor – we had “standing tickets”, so we wanted to make the everything clear at once. After that we came to the first gate. We were alone – people didn’t come yet and we had nothing to do.
We spent some time talking about different things, and not once we were almost angry with each other, but the peace was settled when we decided to sing some Scorpions’ songs together. We started with Daniel’s favourite one – “Tease Me Please Me”. That was fun! Then he started another song, and I sang with him together. After some of them we heard the thundering sounds from arena (we were sitting close outside). “Would you please welcome… THE SCORPIONS!!!” –and the sound of flying jets… Wow! It have to be a sound-check – we thought. Then we heard nothing and started to sing again. Some seconds later we heard how windows of the arena started to shake because of the sound of James’ playing. That was funny! =)
But the funniest was that: when we were singing, James played. When we stopped, he stopped playing too. Several times. The sound-check was rather long, and we could hear how the band was playing. In the end they played full instrumental versions of “New Generation” and “Sting in the Tail” (the last one was played two times). Can you imagine our happiness when we realized that we sang three songs with the LIVE accompaniment of SCORPIONS? That was like a dream for us, because we both want to be rockers! I was so happy about it!
Then we made a little pause in our singing. Daniel decided to write on his Russian flag some words. I was a little bored. We wondered where are the people, because in Russian cities the queues were already 5 hours before the beginning of the show. But we were alone in front of the gate. I even had a thought that, perhaps, we both mixed up and the show isn’t today. But soon some people came. For a pity, they didn’t want to talk to us.
My friends wanted to come at 6 p.m., closer to the time of “doors open”, but we couldn’t wait for them already! Later Greta with her brother came – that was so good that we could talk endlessly to someone else but each other! =) People started to come up to the gates. At last! But we noticed that everyone had so sad faces – people in Belarus have the same because of the terrible situation in the country, really! It seemed like they don’t understand where and what for they are coming. Me and Daniel seemed to be the happiest people in the crowd, though we were waiting for 5 hours there!
Then Ruta’s sister Egle came. She was with her friend Ieva. At the same time my friend Bogdana came. Allright! They were happy as we were, so it was great to stand in such a warm company. Me and Daniel couldn’t look at the sad people, so we decided to sing again. The girls played imaginary guitars =)) While we were singing, people looked at us with misunderstanding, especially the guy in “Scorpions” t-shirt. Can you imagine?
When we finished to sing the line “It’s time for a show” – the arena’s workers came out and said to go back to the line. Me and Daniel were the first in the queue, when the fencing was closed. They said we should wait now for some time. And this “some time” was the most difficult part of waiting for me. I became nervous that we will be passed from the another side, that I won’t get to the front row and so on… I was shaking and wanted to cry. Daniel said: “So, we decided that we will be standing in the first row in front of the “tongue”? Why should we change this decision?” I agreed with him, smiled and tried to calm down. So, Dasha… Breath in – breath out. Breath in – breath out…
The workers came and replaced the part of the fencing in front of us. I was standing first with some guy. Some minutes of waiting – and I came inside, scanned the ticked and… run, run, RUN! The scaring stairs, the corridor… Where to run next?! Daniel ran faster, but we missed the necessary gate… Fuuuuuuf – I am standing in the front line to the entrance!
There is a curtain and a nice girl that says she can’t pass us right now, that we should wait for about half of an hour. I ask: “Čia yra stovimas?” (“Is this the dancefloor?”), the girl nods. Heeeeey-how!!! Endlessly I calmed down! I have no doubts that I will be standing at the place I want to stay.
Daniel is near, the girls – too. My roommate Alya came, too, and found us. Near me was standing a girl who is from Lithuania, but she talks in Russian like on mother-tongue. Her name is Vika. She translated us the things which the girl was saying from time to time. She said that the tickets won’t be checked, and when she will open the curtain, we should go. “Run as fast as we can” – that was the real meaning.
You know what? That was the most scaring thing during the whole day! – When the curtain was pulled aside and the crowd ran like crazy!!! They almost made me fall down, but miracle helped me to stand on my feet and to run myself. It was like in somnolence – I see the stage, crazy running crowd or the people… “Tongue” – running, running, running… “BAM” with my hands on the fencing! AAAAAAAH GOD!!!! I AM STANDING AT THE BEST PLACE ! Firsrt row in front of the “tongue”! The place you can see the EVERYTHING from! The band will play right in front of you! God, is it really happening?! I even shouted happily! Great, great, great!!!
In the same second another people took their places near. On the left was Daniel, then Egle and Vika. Bogdana, Alya and Ieva were separated from us, unfortunately. On the right there was a guy Paulius. We talked for a while to each other.
The waiting seemed so long, but it was better to wait standing in the front row that to wait standing outside. I was starring at the drums, looked like the stage was prepared… I was bored a bit, and really couldn’t wait to see the beginning of the show. I had the mood which can’t be compared with the mood I had in the morning!
I took my flag out of the bag, Daniel made the same with his flag, and we hanged them on our necks waiting. Then, shortly before the show, I took it into my hands. And…
At last the light is fading down…
The screen on the back switches on and we see the familiar video and hear “Bang-bang, rock with a gang” – yeah, that’s it!!! “Ladies and gentlemen!”.. We shout of happiness! That is the thing we were waiting for so long time! The drums rise up and we see James there. He raises his hand up. “…THE SCORPIONS” – the jets on the screen fly and we hear the beginning of “Sting in the Tail”.
The whole band in on the stage. I am so happy, SO HAPPY, can someone understand HOW? =))))))) “Save me from myself before I’m going down!” – sing we together as loud as we can! I shake my flag and looking at Matthias – it seemed to me he noticed it and smiled at me! =) I can be wrong, but let me be sure in it, OK? =) Heeeey, the first amazing smile from the best lead-guitarist in the world!
I can say I really was lost for the first time on whom to look! I wanted to look at each of them at the same moment! I looked a bit on Pawel – he was so energetic, he really rocked! =) Matthias was shining of happiness and already sent his amazing smiles to the audience. Klaus came to us and we sang the refrain. Rudi ran to the tongue like a HURRICANE! =) He was radiating such a strong energy – it can make you fall! =) Yeah!!! James was on fire with his drums, higher that anyone, the expression on his face told that he is all in playing.
The song came to the end fast and started with the other – “Make It Real”. Oh yeah!!! “Make it real – not fantasy” – that is one of my motto's! To be there, at the concert of my favorite band that saved me from depression and made me believe, - that was my dream! And I was singing the song with them and understood that THIS DREAM COMES TRUE RIGHT NOW!!! Can it be real? – OF COURSE IT CAN BE!!! =)))))))
Klaus said that they are happy to come back to Vilnius, said “Good evening” in Lithuanian (“Labas vakaras”). We all liked it =) Then Matthias came to the middle of the stage, into the beautiful picture of lights, and started to play “Bad Boys Running Wild”… How beautiful it sounded and looked like! Our first row was crazily happy!!! The same as at the song “The Zoo”! That’s a pity that these two drum-sticks that Klaus threw to us fell between the stage and the fencing, and securities rejected to give them to us. But well, we were TOO lucky without it! =)
At “Coast To Coast” the band, traditionally, was near us. First Rudi, than Matthias, than Klaus and Pawel, and at the end James joined the colleagues. When Rudi and Matthias were playing in front of me – they was just a step away from me! – I was really excited! I could see every detail of their guitars, their faces, the alive emotions, to feel the energy perfectly… Oh my God!!! That was truly awesome!!!
Matthias was closer to me, and that was really enjoyable to look at him! He was just in the place where he belongs – so happy and alive! He was making faces to the people, smiling so happy, and flying in trance with his guitar… And I could see it so close to me! Amazing, people, amazing!
When we saw four guitars in front of us, Klaus was standing right in front of me. He showed on me and smiled! – Like he recognized me, though we were talking to each other only for less than minute at the signing session in Hamburg. I just saw it in his eyes! =)
While they were playing the final part of the song, I was crying of happiness – because I couldn’t believe that I am standing at the concert of Scorpions, and look at them so close, listening to their awesome playing… I can’t tell about this feeling by words!!! These were just pure tears of happiness!
When they finished the song, Klaus smiled and reached his guitar pick right to me! I reached my hand, but the guys I was standing with wanted to take it too, and their arms were longer -) You should see it to understand the moment! – Klaus doesn’t give the pick to them and try to give it to me. After some seconds he gave up, but I don’t actually know who took the pick – that was neither I nor my neighbors. That’s a pity, but I remember that Klaus wanted to give it to me – and that make me smile like an idiot =)))))))))))))))))))
“Loving Your Sunday Morning” – and the energy explodes again!!! I already stopped to cry and was just under the spell of the atmosphere. Even thought it was hard to breath for me, and it was hot like in hell – these are the parts of real rock’n’roll!!!
When Klaus came to us again and thanked everyone for coming, and started to sing “The Best Is Yet To Come”… I was crying again. Smiling and crying. We joined our flags with Daniel and was waving them from one side to another… “I know, you know that we’ve only just begun through the highs and lows… And how can I live without you? You’re such a part of me…” That was the perfect moment… A the end of the song I noticed that Klaus’ eyes are sparkling in unusual way – like there are tears. If it was so – I wouldn’t be surprised. Because that song is so strong, especially when the audience sing together with him. He showed us his heartbeat with his fist… And it seems to me we all had the same heartbeat as he – our hearts sounded in unison.
The acoustic begun. The whole band came to the “tongue” – Rudi and Matthias with their acoustic guitars, Pawel and James joined Klaus. I looked at James. He was sitting and looking at the people in front of him. When he caught my look, he waved me with his hand and sent me an air kiss =))))) I was truly surprised! =)))) And of course smiled back.
Then I looked at Matthias. He was just passing with his eyes our row, and… Well, that was REALLY effective thing! =))) He looked into my eves, then closed them and started to play “Send Me an Angel”… I swear, I almost fell after it! =))))))) Precious moment.
“Here I am… Will you send me an angel?” – we sing all together. I want to cry again, because I love this song so much. I looked how Rudi and Matthias were playing, how Klaus’ eyes were shining… I caught a look from James again, and this second I suddenly wanted to embrace him – don’t know why. The song ended with a very beautiful arpeggio… We all weren’t on the earth, we all were in heaven that moment…
Klaus smiled at me again and reached for my flag. I gave it to him, and he hanged it on himself. I felt the touch from the back – Bogdana was standing not far from me in the second row. “Well done!” – said she and smiled. I nodded and looked at the stage again. Klaus… was standing…. with… our.. flag!!! He was singing the whole “Holiday” with it! I was so happy, you can’t imagine! Tears of happiness again were sparkling on my cheeks…
“Are you ready to rock?” – what is the question? Of course we are! We shouted so loud that Klaus moved away! =) And… here comes “Raised On Rock”! Yeah!!! After the acoustic part we all went crazy rockers again! “This call will always last!!!” I remember that Matthias came to us to play the final solo. How I love this solo, and I saw how Matthias played it in front of me!.. I have no words again!
“Tease Me Please Me” – and Daniel is happy like no one =) I understood him very well. We smiled and were singing this song as loud as it possible! The silhouette of the girl on the screen teases the public =) And Scorps teases us as well =)))))
So energetic song was finished, and after is sounded even more energetic one! – that was “Dynamite”! That was real DYNAMITE!!! It seemed to me that I’m not here… The crazy sound of the guitars, the drums’ beat, Klaus’ singing… “Kick your ass to heaven with rock’n’roll tonight” – you MADE IT, really, for sure!!!
At the end of the song Rudolf was playing in front of us and Pawel came to him. Rudi crossed his guitar’s neck with Pawel’s guitar’s neck and that way started to move him back to the stage =)))) That was so unusual and funny! =)
Everyone, but James, were gone – and “Kottak Attack” begun! It was with the background – the video where James played short stories about the Scorpions’ album covers. The audience was happy. I started to chant “Kottak, Kottak!” and people started to chant with me =))) At the end of the film on background James took the microphone and… was laughing in it for about a minute =))))) Then he said that it is great to come back to Vilnius =) After he made a usual contest “which part is lauder”. He didn’t really liked the left part, then showed that the right part was better, but when he showed on our central part, we shouted so loud that he threw his drum-sticks back and was standing with the face like he was blown with the storm! =))))) Of course, we were excited after his drum-show! James, you kick ass!!! =))))
You can be sure what was after it: from the central part of the stage run the others, and “Blackout” begun! Rudi was looking like always at this song, and he had his special guitar that was producing the smoke. This wave of crazy energy fell on us again! “Blackout!!! I really had a blackout!!!”
And after the sound of broken glass Matthias came to us to make his “Six String Sting”… We all shouted, but we could hear he asked: “Are you ready for this?!” Of course we were ready! And he started to play… I couldn’t take my eyes off him. Because I could see the expression, the run of his fingers on the guitar’s neck, I could feel the energy from him… That was awesome! And when he started to play on high notes, I had a very unusual feeling – like I am the one with these sounds he makes, like I am this playing… Fantastic! I can’t describe this feeling, but it was!
I knew well that after “Six String Sting” there will be “Big City Nights”. And I remembered how I always was excited while watching this moment on DVD’s – when Matthias finishes his solo and starts to play this song. I’m always crazy about the sound of the first chords of “Big City Nights” on live recordings… And here I understand that the finish is soon, and Matthias will play “Big City Night”… And I shout: “Do it!!! Kill me!!! Kill me endlessly!!!” – and he starts to play it… I was all shaking during this moment!!! So, SO exciting!!!
The song with tone of positive!!! “Big city, big city nights!!!” – shout we all… The end of the song was like a little performance – Rudi was running and jumping all the time, Matthias made his guitar insane, James plays with all his might… Wooohow!!!
Then they came to us again, but we knew that they don’t say “Goodbye”, we were sure they will come out again! And, of course, in some minutes (during which we were shouting to invite them back) they come. Matthias says something to his microphone, but we can’t hear him, because we are too happy to see them again!
“Still Loving You” began… It was a very special moment for me, because on the next day there was a date of my first meeting with my beloved guy… This song, which is still being the best ever, is full of sense for me right now. And I was crying all the song. Yes, it seemed to me that I was crying too much during the concert, but is it bad to cry because of happiness and pure emotions?.. The song was played brilliant.
Then Klaus came to us again and said about the story of the next song – of course it was “Wind of Change”. Some people from the crowd started to whistle with Klaus. At the first refrain I’ve put my arms on the shoulders of my neighbors and they did the same. So our row was standing, embracing like this, and we were singing all together… And at the second refrain I took their hands and raised them – so we waved out hands together… It was like a dream for me – to do something like this. I am Belarusian, and I was standing between Lithuanian and Russian, and we together sand “Did you ever think that we could be so close, like brothers?” Precious…
And… here comes “Rock You Like a Hurricane”! The crowd was really rocked, and we jumped all together, singing with Klaus. That was the high note, really! And when Matthias played his famous solo in front of us, I could believe that I’m looking at how HE PLAYS IT!..
Then they all came and made a bow. We wanted them to come out again, but they didn’t… Don’t know why. The lights were turned on, and people started to move to the doors. I didn’t want to go. I was standing and looking at the stage. Paulius said goodbye and came to the exit. I wanted to find the friends and to go out with them. Me and Daniel noticed that the stage workers give the flags and banners away to their owners – there were Lithuanian, Polish, Daniel’s Russian, my Belarusian flags, and some banners. I didn’t like this idea – I’m not already the owner of this flag, I gave it to Klaus and to all Scorpions! I decided not to take it at all. But what do I see? While a man gives away the Lithuanian flag, someone takes mine backstage! =))))))))))))))))) Yeah!!! =)))))))))))))))))))
Egle and Ieva found me. I say: “The concert was… was… was…” and understand that I can’t really say HOW I find the concert, because I have no words to do it! All the words seem to me so little and pale after those emotions…
After me and Daniel bought “Scorpions” t-shirts. We were so excited, that couldn’t stop singing =) People in the street thought that we are drunk. Perhaps we were – we were drunk because of this energy and happiness… The last time I was SO happy, perhaps, only three years ago! I wanted to sing, to smile to everyone… And during the concert I received so much positive, that I thought that THE EVERYTHING WILL BE IN THE BEST WAY, because THERE IS NO ANOTHER WAY!!! And I feel this till now!

That was one of the happiest days in my life. That was like a dream, but so real… I saw every emotion on the faces of Scorpions, I could look into their eyes, could hear how do they play and to sing with them… I counted nine smiles for me from Matthias =) He really made me excited! Such a great guitarist and gorgeous man! Rudolf associates in my head with a real hurricane! – I can’t believe he’s 62! He can’t be! James, Pawel, you are really great musicians! And you are real SCORPIONS!!! Thank you so much!
And especially I want to say thanks to Klaus. Even if I would try, I wouldn’t count all his smiles and air kisses to me! People said after that he gave to me more attention than to anyone else. Klaus, you are our angel. And your smile makes feel better, your kind blue eyes make believe in the best! Thank you just for you are! Now I do understand why Ruta was so upset when she understood that she can’t come and meet you again. You are really an angel, I could see it in your eyes.
After the concert I understood very well why some people go to the 30th show and still can’t get enough. And I’m really happy to understand that in one month and some days I will be at the Scorpions’ concert again! It is unforgettable! I don’t know any other band who can make the audience feel SO at their concert. It seems to me that only Scorpions does.

…I’m finishing my review, and my playlist switches “The Best Is Yet To Come”. Indeed.
THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

Oh Dasha! How beautiful! This moved me because I could feel myself there. My reactions would be the same as yours, dear one. It's okay to cry with happiness...when the heart is so full, it has to spill out somewhere. Tears are the path of least resistance. I don't have enough words to tell you how much I loved reading your review. (((((Dasha))))) Thank you.....

Well Dasha, you just made me feel as tho I was there, that I was such a part, that I heard and saw everything!! That was truly one of the best reviews I have ever had the pleasure to read my darling girl!! I am soooo beyond happy for you. I understand the sadness, it is a psycholgical reaction. The fantasy is over and reality has to sink in. BUT you will remember this for a very long time and you will always remember bits and pieces forever and you will think on them time and time again! Like the singing and James playing to your singing. That sounds like James, he is a great and silly guy!! :P
Once again Dasha, I am sooo very happy and thrilled for you. You deserved this sweetie.
Thx for the travel to the show in my head and heart!!!

RAWK ON!!

Calling this review a fantastic one, would be diminishing. :D

But spending 5 hours waiting!!! Oh my, that's too much!
And I remember going home after their concert in Nsk singing too. :D We sang LFT and Holiday. Strange enough, there was one more song in my head - Dead or Rock by Edguy.

@gretaks, you have me as a friend on myspace. So I guess you should know how I look like.

@Dasha, thx for such emotional review. While reading I came back and lived every moment once again.

The show was amazing. I still can't find (or maybe there is no) words to describe what I felt. Send me an angel turned me to tears, The best is yet to come made my heart beat faster. I never felt so right, I never felt so high. I'm so happy I was there. And no matter it was Mathias guitar solo or it was Kottak's drums, the only thing I can say of each part of the show, that it was the greatest gift, from gorgeous musicans to their music lovers. I will never forget this evening!

We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why can't we live as one

Your review is brilliant Dasha! :) Thank you so much for describing every single detail. It's not bad or negative to cry, you express your emotions naturally how you feel and no one can say when it's good or bad.

I know the feeling when there're only few min left until going inside, these are really the most difficult :)

Though the show is over, you'll remember it for a looooong loooong time and every such experience makes a huge input for who you are and will be! :) thank you very very much! :)

Wonderful review Dasha,I know that it wasn't so easy for you type all the emotions you had that night on a cold keyboard of a desktop but you did it! The tears you cried that night will be taken from angel called Klaus  and remember Klaus' words: "How can we grow old when the soundtrack of our lives is rock n' roll"
Thanx again Dasha!
