The atmosphere must have been great, the crowd was very loud and btw I could hear Hans singing (or shouting) too. Hehehe
I am sure you all had a great show...We are waiting for your reviews!!! Have safe trips home everybody.

here's my little review from the concert in Hannover:
the day began for us with a little sightseeing trip. With us I mean Bean (=Stormrockschenker), Teen, Claudi (Angel68), her husband and me. We decided to go to Rock City (=Schwarmstedt) and have lunch at Rudi's favourite italian 'Gino'. That was really a nice experience. Off course, they immediately recognized us as Scorpions fans and we were welcome. Just like we germans think how the italians are, an open heart for every friend. We got the information we missed Rudi for half an hour but he probably will come back, but he didn't ( :( ).

But - I guess it was Gino himself - was very friendly and showed us some things, for example the espresso cup which Rudi usually uses, the drinking glass which is reserved for Rudi and and and ...
Another little story, he told us that he was hired as cook for this evening in the TUI arena, he grinned a little and said 'maybe we will see us there again!' and we responded 'absolutely, we only need to come backstage', this comment was followed by a laughter.

A little funny thing, in the TV report Rudi said that through this 'gate' Gino Rudi is informed about the things that are going on in Schwarmstedt (sorry, not Hanover, that was a typing mistake). And really, I could see how one of the waiters had a conversation with one of the guests about some activities in Schwarmstedt - this have been really things of minor relevance but for them they were important and it was worth discussing about it. I guess 'gossip' is the right english expression for it.

Afterwards at the venue I met Any and her husband (including new generation, this means their little daughter), Natka, Haley and in the venue we were standing straight at the end of the catwalk. And it was again the same as in Berlin, the people around us realized I'm talking english with them and wanted to know again if I am a kind of tourist guide. And they were again amazed from which countries all the people came. Ok you see Lenita, when the very last concert will really be in Hannover you have to come with this van (and the beer!) and pick up all the friends on your way.

This evening we had three bands, the first one was the winner of a kind of casting show with the name 'germany's best party band'. Let me say it this way: They were not so bad, but somehow I got the feeling they approached their gig to naive. They began with a pop song that went somehow like 'let me entertain you', that was no good choice, they should have known they are standing in front of a rock audience.
If I am not wrong they had the possibilities to entertain us, I counted 4 (=four!!!) guitar players (I'm no musician, I don't know why so many guitars are necessary). The singer said something, they are really nervous and that was something you could feel. Nearly no movement on the stage. The female co-singer made some movements to the music but nearly didn't leave the place where she was standing, the main-singer sometimes let him fall to his knees and the guitar players were just standing there like columns. All this reminded me of what Rudi wrote in his book about Bon Jovi when they were openers for them in the 80s.
The singer tried to make some little jokes from time to time, but the way he presented them was lousy, even the band 'die Flugbegleiter' in Hötensleben were much better.
A little later in the gig the music become a little rockiere, they played a special cover of the Yes classic 'owner of a lonely heart' - sorry big mistake no. 2. If you know a little the taste of a hard rock / metal audience you know only about 10% like this 'sophisticated' late 70s progressive rock. The best number came in the end, it was a song that came out to the Fifa worldcup 2006, a cool song for good mood and to sing along ... and I thought to myself 'oha, they can do it if they want, but why not right from the beginning'.
I see it in a postive way: They have still potential to improve and when they gathered more experience this might become a band with which we can have a lot of fun.

Afterwards came as expected Edguy who were again really amazing. But I guess I made a mistake in the setlist I gave in the Berlin thread, they played also mandrake, a good song played live. It was just a pity they played only 40 minutes long, a little longer would be fine (with some more songs like matrix or the piper never dies 8) )
About Scorpions: Just read what I wrote in the Berlin thread. And if you think you know the new stage setup form little video clips on youtbe - forget it!!! You have to see it live ... really cool.

And maybe you are asking yourself why you can't find so many little jokes here in this post as usual. There was one thing that really made me angry. And this was the security. They were not just unfriendly (at least those who catched my eyes) there was more. But don't know if I write more about it. How some other Scorpions fans who are more often in the TUI Arena told me, that was the security of the arena and no scorps people.

Yes this HAS to happen! We'll force her into it!
The security guys suck really... it makes me remember in Carcassonne last year, those guys were looking down at us with an ironic smile kind of " look at them, they look pretty stupid" And I did not see one of them being respectful... They did not even give water to a woman who was feeling dizy because of the heat (it was around 40°C)
Anyway, I'm happy you had a great time at Gino's... all that stuff makes me hungry

Hi Thay,

yes absolutely, Hannover rocks, but I would say the audience in Berlin was a bit louder / wilder

I've found it:

12 000 Fans celebrate the greatest ambassadors our city, to rock with the title song from their eponymous album. The last home game of the Scorps. After more than 40 years, the giants of rock farewell tour are: whole two and a half years around the world. More than 200 concerts in nearly 40 countries, millions of viewers. Motto: "Get Your Sting And Blackout".

Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs on the gas as if they had just started. Precise as a Swiss watch sit riffs. Light as a feather flies Schenker with his guitar on stage. It sits in my Klaus incomparable voice. Scorpions sound. Yeah. Rock instead of talking.

Brief Introduction: "This is the famous home game! Nice to be back firing. "Then the hits. "Bad Boys Running Wild".

Great! "Send Me an Angel" and "Holiday" as an acoustic set. Klaus Meine very close to the audience, holding the mike in the fan crowd! Break - "Raised on Rock" and "The Good Die Young". Time and again, film clips on the screens, fireworks, flames, Mega-Light Show. Klaus Meine throwing drumsticks into the fan masses. The hall seething.

The absolute hammer is the flying Drumriser. James Kottak takes off with his drum solos. Suddenly jumps out the band - "Blackout". Rudolf Schenker rocks with his head bandaged, as on the record cover.

"Big City Nights" to the furious finale. Encore! "Still Loving You," "Wind of Change" - pure goose bumps!

Finally, the absolute fireworks Cracker: "Rock You Like a Hurricane", the hall trembles under the anthem of the Scorpions. The band bows. Cheering frenzy, the sting is deep in Hanover.

I used Google Traslator (German-English), I think we can understand it very weel, right? and Thanks Hans, once again, for answering my question :)

Hi Hans(B),
I would say since the concert in Essen last year the meeting with all the friends is nearly as important as the concert itself. Together with friends a concert is much more fun.

just one question:

in Hannover sparklers were not allowed. Does anyone have an idea why?

oooooh, there comes something to my mind. When Tobias Sammet announced the obligatory ballad, he asked the audience to take out the cigarette lighters, handys (=cellular phones) or firework-rockets. Sorry Tobias, if you read it, it would have been a pleasure for me to do it, but it was not allowed.

Wow yeah, it was a very very great time in Hanover. Hans it was so nice to meet you, Bean and Teen. Gino makes a real good pizza and it´s a wonderful place.
Like Hans says, the first band wasn´t really good.... sorry guys. I was looking at my seat where the fast-forward button is.
Edguy and Scorpions were AMAZING and they rocked the sold out venue. Yeah 12000 people were on fire. I love the Kottak Attack so much.... James YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
