Scorpions

Hi all

Hi all

Unread postby Guest » May 30th, 2010, 11:55 am

Just thought that it is about time that i joined this web site's forum, and start by saying "Hi".
Just a little about myself, been into the Scorpions since 1982 when i was, erm, much younger (ok, my mid teen's, when i had short Black hair, then through to having very long Black n' Blue hair and finally to the image of today being short erm, Grey hair, Mmmm).
Saw the Scorpions for the first time in 1982 at Hammersmith Odeon, (thanks to my sister having a spare ticket), totally taken by the single at that time which was "No One Like You".
Although i have lived in England most of my life, i am infact Welsh (yeah, i know it's not your fault ! And no, i do not have a Sheep as a Girlfriend, (but if you know of any single ones ???)).
Have played bass guitar more than half my life, and have an unhealthy interest in motorcycles.
Lastly, i would like to say a big THANKYOU to the Scorpions for giving me the scope and a musical direction in my life when i needed it, and although all good things must come to an end, i am still deeply saddened to learn that they are coming to an end.
Hope that i get a chance to say farewell.
All the best, Brathu.

Welcome on the forum Brathu!
Yes, it's so bad news we had in january, but we still have 2 full remaining years to enjoy our Scorps live!
I hope you'll have the chance to meet them again, these are just wonderful moments! I'm Alizee from France... Your comparison with the sheep made me laugh a lot 'cause one day a British friend of mine visited Wales and sent me a postcard with sheeps in a rainy landscape and two poor fellows lost in it with a broken car wondering what's the hell gonna happen to them! Just a joke from her I guess, I hope I'll have the chance to visit your native country one day, so I would not be prejudiced anymore
See you in the forum , have a good Sunday!
Greeting from France
Alizee

Hiya Alizee, you know the worst thing about Sheep is they don't stay on the back of my bike ? Hmmm, you would think they have the sense to work out how to hold on. I have been through France a couple of times (without a Sheep) and i keep wanting to maybe visit through Normandy then back into Paris, maybe one day (but that's another thing).

Diolchiadau Hans, your Welsh is better than mine, havn't really spoken Welsh since i was a child so therefore hardly remmember any, in fact i would say it's worse than mein Deutsch. But i do go back home sometimes. Must say, your Dog does look angry.

Hi Adriana, keeping with the Welsh thing for a moment further, is it true that part of Argentina speaks Welsh as a first language and Spanish as a second ? I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time it my life.

I'm sorry Brathu I don't speak one word of Welsh myself. I looked it up here.
Do you still live in the UK somewhere or did you have to leave the country with the lastest outbreak of the foot and mouth disease  (sorry couldn't resist, but you started with the sheep).

I'm going to have to find some Flemmish arn't i :)
Yeah, i actually live in the South East of England in Kent, which is the nearest county to France.
Surely you mean Foot IN Mouth :D :D :D
I suppose i did set myself up on the Sheep thang, just that the English seem to have something about un-original Welsh/Sheep jokes, so i like to get there first, if you know what i mean.
Regards Brathu.

I can't see a sheep in that avatar. Frankly it's so small I can't see anything in it. Could just as well be a Welsh dragon.
