Song Key changes on the GYSAB Tour *SET LIST SPOILER*

Hi my friends!

Let's discuss the song key on the setlist

(all comparisions with studio versions). It's not in the setlist order but in the youtube clips I found
STING IN THE TAIL: 1/2 step down.

BAD BOYS RUNNING WILD: 1 step down. I personally don't think its detracts from the original power and electricity of the song.

MAKE IT REAL: 1/2 step down. The “standard” live key. But I think they should try the original key, since I believe Klaus can sing it.

HOLIDAY: 1/2 step down. But since it's has been played like that for ages, it sounds natural.

BIG CITY NIGHTS: 1 step down. Same as BBRW

THE GOOD DIE YOUNG: Studio key. It sounds great

STILL LOVING YOU: 1 step down. I know it's been played like that for a long time, but I've never liked it in that key. Also, the tempo is SLOW so the song sounds tired and uninspired :(

THE ZOO: 1 step down. This one sounds really lazy and tired. Not a good choice at all. I don't know why, since I don't think it's that hard to sing. Also, the tempo is slow :( I think they should really give the E tune a try. It sounds so great in the original studio key. 8)

WE'LL BURN THE SKY: 1 step down. I was surprised to hear it in that key, considering it was played only 1/2 down with Uli a couple of years ago. But it still sounds great, and it's a must!

IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE: 1 step down. Another one that I don't know why is played in this key, instead of the original. It's not hard to sing originally

WIND OF CHANGE: 1/2 step down. My bad, this doesn’t sound good at all. Plus Klaus is completely out of tune whistling! :(

ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE: 1/2 step down. But it’s the standard live tune, so it still sounds great

ALWAYS SOMEWHERE: 1/2 step down. It sounds great anyway, and of course, it’s a must!

LOVING YOU SUNDAY MORNING: 1/2 step down. It doesn’t sound good, and it’s one of the songs they could change from the setlist, IMHO

COAST TO COAST: 1 step down. An instrumental played down? I don’t get it. Another one that they could drop and change for something better.

TEASE ME PLEASE ME: 1 step down. Since the riff is killer and it sounds heavier in this key, I think it’s actually a great choice.

BLACKOUT: 1 step down. This doesn’t sound as good as TMPM. The studio version sounds heavier

NO ONE LIKE YOU: 1 step down. But the band does give the song a great rendition. Also, a welcomed new addition to the set, since it wasn’t played in Prague.

SEND ME AN ANGEL: Studio key. sounds wonderful in its original key. It's a nice surprise they're playing it in the key!. I hope they'll keep it for the rest of the tour

I haven't found the rest of the set on youtube to compare. one thing ... Why they drpped Pictured Life? :(
as you can see, most of the songs are played down.

let's discuss this thread my friends :)

It is pretty common these days for bands in this genre to step down. But like you said, klaus's voice is still in top condition, so not sure if it really necessary on many of those songs.

I understand their choice to step down... I'd still like to hear coast to coast like the original...
