Hi Hans,

Thank you for posting your photos!!!
Yea, I can tell the ground is muddy and I can see many puddles, too.
Compare to the Greek shows, it seems nice and cool there though.
The computer message on the wide LTD screen on the stage is funny.

Well I think you did a great job on taking the photos with a Japanese cheap camera.  (Kidding    )
The band members are always moving so it is hard to take clear photos.
Plus the show is usually night time so it is harder to take good photos.
Thank you again for your photos. I enjoyed them so much.

On Saturday morning round about 10:30 am, Petra and me drove from Recklinghausen to the Scorpions concert in Hötensleben.
The sky was gray to deep gray and far and wide no good weather in sight.
It rained occasionally in streams and I thought with the weather the concert will surely be canceled, even when we arrived at 02:00 pm in Oschersleben at our hotel it was raining cats and dogs. ;-)

After we had finished we went down to reception and Petra went to the car to get the record to sign it at the meet and greet...

I stood there at the reception and wanted to order a taxi and then I thought I don't believe my eyes, because James came with his wife and his son Matthew and wanted to check in.

After Petra came back we sat first in the lobby and waited what would happen a few minutes later came Pawel and Michael and checked in.

At that time we wrote a SMS to Christina that we would come later. She was already in Hötensleben. She took a Taxi from Helmstedt Hötensleben, so she didn't had her in Hötensleben.
Christina wrote to us that she is on the way to us. 30 min. later she joined with David in tow in our hotel where we then ate and drank something ... before we drove with Davids car behind the Scorps to Hötensleben.

In Hötensleben arrived, we made our way to the box office where we picked up our passes...

When we were inside Yasmin and I went behind the stage and a few minutes later followed by the people who had a photo pass for the Meet & Greet.

After the Meet & Greet Yasmin and I were still behind the stage.
When we saw James , we showed Yasmins Tattoo to him. Both have the same tattoo in the neck, and he told it to his wife Athena ...

I took a photo of the two and then we went out of the backstage area.

After a few minutes, went Atti and me once again behind the stage where we walked from A to B and back.

Some minutes later Nils Wandrey by the band's Crack'n up' saw me.
And we talked about his band.
I met him years ago in Düsseldorf before the concert.

Crack'n up's, played as support band for the German band, PUR and they were together with , James Kottaks Band KOTTAK on Asia tour.

Atti and I shared our bottle of wine we got behind the stage and waited with David behind the stage that the Scorpions were running onto the stage and we made our way to in the moat between the stage and the first row.

I must say the show as such, I have only a few memories, but I had my fun and that is the most important.

The show was quite okay, there was in the setlist no big surprises, but the show was great as always and the audience was also great, at least the front rows were a blast.

The show ended well after midnight. After the show we had one last beer at the festival ground and then we drove back to the hotel ... our clothes looked bad, the terrain in Hötensleben was a mud landscape because of the weather.

The next morning we ate breakfast at the restaurant with a view of the circuit of Oschersleben.

Then we got back on the way home ... to Recklinghausen Petra and I went back to Denmark where I was Sunday night at 23:45 was again at home.

So a summary, the concert setlist ... nothing special for Die Hard fans like us, the audience was great and I will mourn my shoes.
The shoes did not survived the festival.

Absolutely, the guys are always moving, (which is good  ) so the best camera is usually a good digital with great auto focus and adjustable lighting. But it's okay my friend, you did good!!  We love the photos and thank you!!

Sarah, thank you so much for your review. What a good time the boys give us eh? How did you get behind the Scorps car? :P And how does everyone, well almost everyone, on here who is in Europe get special passes? I don't usually hear that happening here? :?

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your review!
Wow, Nils finally did the opening band (even it was a support with the other band) for the Scorpions!!! 8)
I am so happy to hear that.

I'm glad you could join the M&G event.
We are looking forward to your photos next.

I stayed in the same Hotel as James and Pawel, and when they drove to the venue we just followed them with Davids car...

Gabi organized a Meet and Greet with the Band for some Fans.
When I remember it right were there also some Fans who organized a Meet & Greet in the US, at the last USA Tour...

Well yeah with Azoff, scorpsnews organized some M&G's, but it just seems that almost all the ppl on here in Europe, get backstage or M&G's, but here it's only a few. Just an observation, nothing big deal. :P

BTW Gabi, you deserve big kudos for doing this for the members. YOU get the credit, nobody else, ya hear?

Hi Toshiko

I'm glad to hear that you like my review.
I don't know if I understand what you wrote..
But I think Nils was not the opening band at the concert in Hötensleben. I just saw him backstage.
But it would be great to see him as support act with his own band at a Scorpions Show...
I really enjoy his music.

My pictures plus the pictures of David and Hans will follow.
I'm just waiting for the mail from David with the pictures.

Some pictures of the show in Singen are online on MySpace...

Hugs Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your review, I really enjoyed it.
I am so happy tobe with such as wonderful friends/fans as Christina and Petra are, and I am extremely happy that Christina also could meet the guys again.
If somebody among german fans, she and Petra really deserved this opportunity.
If I had known that Christina also would be there, I would have added her also to the list, but it was too late for me to get to know it, but am happy that Petra and you could help her Sarah.

Thank you for your words Christy, frankly.
I can tel you just my theory: If I am so lucky to help my european fanmates abit, I try to find an opportunity for those, who never have met the guys yet, or just can do it rarely, or in a third chance, if they have done so much for me, and it may be my big thanks and honor for their care and help, and love.
I don't know really what has been happening in the U.S. for years whenewer a Scorpstour is there, there is always the same arguement between fans there that I never have experienced in Europe yet.
Ok, but it is really not my busyness, and not my task to solv the problem.
I will try to do my best for European Fosers till the end of my opportunity to do it.
I hope that I could do something finally for a few Fosers today in Carcassonne also.
I talked with Christine and Andrea by phone about two hours ago, they didn't know anything, they just were waiting.
They had been able to talk with Alex, and they were waiting for the good news.
We will see the final result tomorrow here.

Rudolf-THE WISE ONE,
Matthias-THE COOL ONE,
Pawe-THE SIMPLE ONE,

:D :D :D Cristy, thank you so much for saying you like the photos. But you have to know, something like that must not happen to me - this is maybe another funny story. You have to know making photographs is a part of my job and especially as physicist I know about apertures, exposure time, focus and so on.
As I said I borrowed a sony pocket camera. I looked at it and thought, yes it's nearly the same as at my semi-professional sony camera - so I thought. At the venue I pressed all buttons I could find in order to find some functions, but couldn't find them - I nearly got mad. The result is what you see now - I should have taken a look into the manual. That's what I did afterwards - now I know.

Sometimes you shouldn't be too sure of yourself

Yeah I really HAAATE those point and shoots that have no adjustments!!!!!!! aarrrgggg Mine is almost that way, I have a few but that's all!!!! :x I cannot wait to get a DSLR so I can practice with it inside darkened venues. That way, by next year, I will be ready to take pix of the boys!! :P

Hans, thank you for the pics :D Man, I have seen much worse pictures than yours !!! They are not bad at all. Ok , we cannot see the hair on Matthias´s chest or the symbol on Klaus beret, but we can see the band in action, that is what counts...the atmosphere is there!! :D

Oh well haha Hans, I have already noticed that you and I are the same generation, I mean, we belong the same generation, because I also remember that tvseries very well from my childhood, it was a big success on hungarian TV as well.
My sister and my mom used to laugh at the figures so much, I rather used to enjoy their voices, they also were so funny.
Ok, back to the original topic:
Yes, James is as so fantastic drummer and a shwoman, I also really enjoy his "show" against beeing sightless.
You can enjoy his caracter on stage without seeing also.

I must say it wasn't me who helped Christina, it was Petra.

Yasmin and me were already backstage, when Christina and Petra came backstage.

I got the pictures of David today.

Well finally someone else who thinks like me!!! Last year I was talking about how much Jame, who I call my crazy stickman, was so much like Animal on the Muppet Show!!! I even was going to find an Animal to send to him. BTW if someone actually does that, then they stole my idea!!

@ Sarah: kein Problem, ich habe dir ja extra mehr Bilder geschickt, damit du dir die besten raussuchen kannst. Die Bilder in Essen werden dann besser (ich lese mir vorher dann noch einmal die Bedienungsanleitung durch)

@Cristy: :lol: :lol: :lol:
I was already thinking about making a joke with James and the animal, but after I read your words I'll make something different.
