Anyone hitting up the Detroit show?

The D.T.E. Amphitheatre in Clarkston Michigan, that is

I'm still trying to swing this show myself. After the absolutely outstanding Toronto gig last week, I'm just desperately eager to make it to another show or two. And the D.T.E. is such a great venue to see a concert at, particularly when it's by an amazing Rock band like the Scorpions.

I'm going; unfortunately, alone. This was going to be our end-of-summer trip but my daughter got an RA position at the very last second and had to go back to college a week earlier than planned. She begged and pleaded but they wouldn't give her 3 stinking days. At such late notice nobody else can get off work.

I'll kick myself forever if I miss this so I'm going anyway. I hope to see some familiar Chicago faces and I've been to enough to know that at a Scorpions concert you're never really alone.

That's too bad about your daughter. I'm sorry. Don't you just hate when real life gets in the way of a good time?

I'd happily stand in for her if I could just manage to get to the venue myself. That's pretty much the only thing I hate about the D.T.E. - without a car, it's nigh unto impossible to get to (in the middle of nowhere with no train or bus access).

Barb, you're right about never being alone at a Scorpions concert.....so just go and have a great time! I think I read on http://www.scorpsnews.com that there are some Chicago people going to that show....you may want to check that out. I wish I could go, but being that it's on a Thursday and I have kids in school, it can't happen. (Too bad.....I'd recognize you from the VIP passes at the 2004 Chicago concert.) And I'm sorry that your daughter can't go...but congrats to her on getting an RA position. I'm looking on the bright side.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes there's always next time Gabi, hopefully next year. That Chicago 04 show was amazing. I'd probably recognize you too if I saw you, at the time I just felt like I had to be dreaming.

I made it here, you weren't kidding about the "middle of nowhere." I did check out scorpsnews.com and ironically there was someone looking for a single ticket which is what I have but I couldn't post because it won't let you register.
