My Gaia-Oporto review!

Unread postby Amparillo » July 19th, 2009, 3:29 pm

Marina, her boyfriend Pedro, Diego and me arrive to the hotel in Gaia at 5 pm.
After leaving our things at the hotel, we went to the venue to get the tickets in the box office. In this moment, we made a call to get a backstage passes and tell us that there is no problem but in this moment can't be, a little later call back again to this person.

Then, we went to the hotel to rest, and after, come back to the venue.
When arrives to the venue and before to enter, we called to us contact, but he didn't reply. We have been wating to can talk with he but was imposible and as it was too late, we decided to enter. When our contact, replied us calls, told us that no passes for anyone in Gaia and Singen.

We try to be near to the stage but was imposible. There were too many people!!!
The show was great! the sound was nice, and klaus' voice was amazing, much better than other years!!! :P

1. Intro + Coming Home – The band kick out the stage with their brilliant entrance. Lot’s a lot’s of flash photos and people taking videos and a huge press in front of the stage. This first song the band almost makes poses to the photographers. The Intro of Hurricane 2000 is fúcking excellent.

2. Loving You Sunday Morning – a Classic. Love the Matthias solo.

3. Is There Anybody There? – For me the best surprise from the concert. I just loved this song, because it was the first time that I hear it as a rock version. Perfect combination between the guitars, drums and Klaus voice.

4. Make It Real – I love this song live

5. The Zoo – Long live Glam ROCK !!! always good live song !!

6. Coast To Coast – no words… the band at their Top

7. Send Me An Angel - the crowd love this song and singing along with Klaus

8. Holiday – the crowd went wild with de second part of the song. Perfect!!!

9. 321 – ARE YOU READY TO ROCK ? asked Klaus and the crowd feel insane

10. Tease Me, Please Me – I’m tired of this song live…but the audience liked….

11. Bad Boys Running Wild – I love this song and I almost feel disappointed when I saw that they don’t play it at the beginning. But at the middle of the concert, a GOOD SURPRISE and I must tell you. Good choice by the band to change this song for the middle of the setlist. It’s kinda different from the others concert

12. Kottak Attack – no words… james is fúcking crazy and had the crowd at their hand… cool solo

13. Blackout – a true classic that turns the crowd wild..

14. Big City Nights – another classic that people enjoyed

------------------------------

15. Still Loving You
16. Wind Of Change
17. Rock You Like A Hurricane

The crowd went crazy with the last 3 songs. Everyone sing those ones. Perfect!

About our boys:

Klaus Meine – how can Klaus still put perfect voice during the lives shows ??? it’s incredible. For me and I’ve already saw 9 Scorpions concerts… it was the best concert of Klaus voice.. Pure magic!!

Rudolf Schenker – is the soul of Scorpions.. no doubt!!! Great stage running, cool jumps and a tremendous charisma in front of the audience…

Matthias Jabs – Great lead guitar through the whole concert. he was very happy and smiling to the audience and making crazy faces. The girls of course loved him… lol

James Kottak – the Animal in stage. The crowd loved and went wild with their performance! Just awesome!!

Pawel Maciwoda – For me is the best bass and stage performance bass of Scorpions history. He is great!

Official Numbers from the festival: 25.000 people at the Scorpions concert – sold out.

At the final of the concert many people makes this kind of comments:

- They exceed my expectations
- they are great
- never though that they so much energy
- the best concert of the festival
- the drummer is fúcking nuts
- etc...

The portuguese press reviews are the best. They say almost the newspapers "Hurricane in Portugal - Scorpions at the Top - Brilliant performence from the Germans"

Awesome photos and video:
