So , my review about my russian trip:
Friday:
my trip started friday early morning, wake up at 4h30 for a flight at 9h. I was at 7o'clock to the airport of Geneva and my stomac already boried me
. SIt into the plane, the stress desapear and big exitation took place.
I'm arrive at 16h30 (local hour) in St Petersburg, someone from my hostel waiting for me, it's nice to don't have to search how go to the hostel when you understand nothing to the language
On the way to the hostel, the people told me that it was the national day, so party, free events everywhere in the city and streets full of ppl.
I walked from 18h to midnight, and still daylight
I don't know when is the "black night" I don't saw it!
the city is very beautifull but incredible big !!!
Saturday:
I started to continue my visit of the city around 10h30, and walk and walk .... and walk! But my 1st mission of the day was to buy tickets for the show !!! I found one ticketoffice, the woman spoken english "YESS !". I ask 2 tickets fo the standing stalls but in Russia there's 2 standing areas
"OK! I want in the closer area of the stage." I think my answer was clear ? I get my 2 tickets now I can continue to visit.
I was to the Fortress, it was vary important for me to go there and walk on the "Fortress' beach", like scorpions in 1988 for the Savage amusements tour, I love this video and my favorite part of it is when they are on these beach with russians wearing swim suit taking sun but with white skin and Matthias with warm clothes showing us his matt skin
I was very happy to be there !
In the middle of afternoon I start to return to my hostel, the plane of my friend arrived at 17h30, I take a new way to continue the visit when suddendly I saw someone with a scorpions T-shirt, I recognized immediadely Eugene, just say 'hello" and continu my way. Around 500m Eugene and his friend arrived to talking to me, we discus aroud one hour on the edge of the Neva (Trinity bridge) and take a picture of us, thx Eugene for the pic !!! I told them my problems with the tickets and said, "now it's OK I got the tickets !!!
" they look my tickets and told me "sorry but it's not the 1st area, it's for the 2nd "
The sun was very shiny, when I'm arrived to the hostel I saw that I had the trace of the T-shirt (white/red, very elegant
). At the end of the afternoon the weather was stormy and there was some showers
But I showed the city to Céline, we were just 500m from the scorpions' hotel when a big shower rain
After a 4-5km trip on wet streets we return to the hostel.
Sunday:
We took the metro to the arena around 11 o'clock. The stairs to go down the station wow, it's very deep and long (not dark
), after find the good line (3 lines on us station) find the good way in cyrillic
, count each station to leave at the good one. Take the "stairway to heaven"
to go out the metro station. Between the metro and the arena there's a big park, maybe one km long, walk ans walk again
We arrive to the arena, looked for the artist entrance and stay there, it's 12h15. No fan around the arena, we are the 1st. No bands arrived, "yess!" The minutes passed ans passed, still nobody, no band's members and no staff's members
, just a guy from AC staff.
It was past 2pm when we saw Alex
, "yess someone from Scorps' staff", I had some swiss chocolate for him, so I go to give him and we talk some minutes. I was very very tired !!! They were at the arena since 3am, without rest cause of technicals issues. All the staff left aroud 3pm (a short sleep before the show) & told us that the band will arrive at 20 o'clock.
the gate opening is planed for 16h.
At 15 o'clock there's still no fan waiting on the main gate, it strange for me.
Some minutes after scorpions' staff left it's the band' s members of The Rasmus who arrived
, I had some chocolate for them as well, just the time to give them the box, no time for pix
. few time later it's KC who arrived but I know nobody.
I deside to go on the main gate but Céline stayed there, she wanted to see Keri Kelly from AC.
On the main gate there some fan, but less than 100 and it's 15h45
I met Eugene and his friend and some others fan, all of them from Moscow. There Pavel & Ana, we were side by side in Budapest but didn't knew them. It was funny to meet us here
16h15, doors still close but all the policeman were ready, so I called my friend and told her to come on the main gate.
It was maybe 17o'clock when they opened the main gate, but I had problems with the policeman due to the chocolate. I had still 2 box because I didn't see Ingo and Matthias to give them
.The policeman don't wanted to let me enter with the chocolate
I became crazy , it's not a gun just chocolate, stupid policeman !!!!! I put the 2 box on the floor and squashed them with rage
If Ingo & Mat can't eat the chocolate the other too !!!!!
Inside, after the ticket control an other security control
I was still insulting, the guy wanted to check inside my bag but saw all my anger and made sign to pass. The rush to the doors start, but where run, nobody knows, left, right, left, right, the doors are closed
It's the panic !
My friend ans me are separated, the 1st on the 1st row (of the 2nd area) keep a place for the other.
After 15 or 20 mintues the doors open !
I find my friend, we are to the 1st row but so far from the stage, ~20 meters.
At 18o'clock the show started with KC, just 30min, it's short (even if I don't like)
15min for change the matrials and it's TR
just 30min as well, it's f****** short ! (
sorry, I know that a lot lot of ppl here don't like them, but it's a great band and they deserve a better audience that hesteric teenagers !!!! And me I really love their music and they are very kind !!!) I found them in good mood in spite of the Lauri's skate board accident, he is arrived the right arm in a splint at the arena but left it during the show, they insure their show!
So, AC played 1h15 I don't like him but the music is absulte Ok, it's just that I don't like his voice and all the blood, I find stupid all this "theater" but it's AC and he is loved for this
It was the 1st time I saw AC, so I can't tell you if they were in good mood or not.
For this tour, there is 2 planes, 1 for all the ppl and 1 for the materials but I think, It's one for AC and one for KC & TR & Scorps together Scorpions .....!!! The show was OK, the music OK but like vladimir I don't founf them in super mood
Matt was less smiling than usually, and the other too.
During the 1st song, Matt saw us and had a large smile for Céline and me.
I don't remember me on witch song it was, but in the middle of the show, Matt was playing his guitar (normal)stop 2 seconds to make us "hello" with his hand add to a large smile
and start again to play. It was too funny and so kind from Matt to do it.
At the end of the show Rudy thanks the audience in russian and english , normal ! but It seems me that he told it in french too, but with all the screams of the audience I'm not very sure of what I heard
So you already have the set list, it's just that WOC was in english and a part in russian
amazing !!! It's just on this song that all the arena was in complet "communion" with scorpions.
The 5 girls danced on tease me please me and only one on SLY.
The show finished at 23h15
it's very early, especially here where the sun was still shining. 20 minutes later there was nobody at the arena, we were the last to left it

With the daylight, difficult to go to bed, so we went to there hotel, stayed aroud half an hour outside waiting for someone, nobody, just talk with 3 russians fans who were there too.
Monday:
We left us hostel around 10h45 for the airport. Strange security ontrol in this airport

We pass the security control before the check-in , after the check-in there is the custom, you are in the duty free zone, for wait at your gate you must pass a second security control where you must remove almost all
, just keep some clothe on your person, but shoes must be removed.... impossible to got a bootle of water even if you bought it in the duty free, and when you pass this SC you can just wait your plane between 4 walls, sit for the luckiest. no bar, no toilets, nothing !!!
So, I'm happy of my trip even if was not all I had image, I don't met the bands, I was not in the "fan zone"
, some showers. My feet were in blood, I walk around 50km in 3 days
. The Russian aren't gentle, kind... in general, never smiling. I make a exceptetion for the fans I met (Eugene and his friend, Ana and Pavel and others who I don't know the name) who were really nice and kind !!!
