Guitar Players, Show Yourselves!!!!

Unread postby Batman » October 27th, 2008, 9:55 pm

I've been a guitar admirer since at least 1974 and an owner / collector since I bought my first, an Ibanez Les Paul, in August of 1977. My latest is to arrive tomorrow, a 1979 Dean Z ( Explorer) in Cherry Sunburst. I have WAY to many but I love guitars and everything about them pretty much. Closest thing to a Scorpions related guitar would be my refinished E90.

I play, but I don't know much about guitar. I only know the Scorpions' guitars.
My father gave me an old guitar, he got it when he was 15. It must be in the 60's. But, she's really good. His song is beautiful. I don't know about the brand, but the sign is the letter E? Maybe you know.

My thread here is to say hello to any and all guitar players on the board. Post a link to your band, gearpage, or as I have a picture of one or more of your favorite guitars. I'm a fan of guitars first and then bands. I often times go to see a band just to look at the gear being used. Good example for me is Cinderella from the Hair Metal daze of the late '80s. They had/have the BADDEST guitars out on tour. Kinda good but not groundbreaking music but the GUITARS!!!
Scorpions ALWAYS bring it guitar wise too! Check out this shot of me at the Dean Guitar Factory tour in Feb. 2007. I'm holding one of the laser etched Michael and Rudy Limited Edition Vs.

So yeah tell everyone about your gear or post a link ........ or not! 8) :P

For the beginners, we all were at one point. Keep playing and practicing. After 31 years as a guitar owner I still stink at playing guitar so you got hope!

I have a strat, Kramer Striker (black), Fender Acoustic & just got my dream guitar Gibson Les Paul Standard (desert burst). Also use a Line 6 Pod XT.

Been playing on and off for 25 years. Had about 10 years off though but started again about 2 years ago.

Currently learning rudi's solo's on Still loving you. I'm a Rythmn man so my fingers are SORE at the moment.

It´s beautiful!!!

Well, I have started to take acoustic guitar lessons last week, along with musical theory. I hope to learn a lot about guitars and music. Eventually I intend to play the electric guitar as well.
I have always loved music and I used to play the keyboards for a while, long time ago. Now i chose the acoustic guitar cause you can play anywhere, anytime and you won´t hear your neighbors complaining you are playing it too loud
I´ve been having a lot of fun practicing the chords and trying new sounds. I want to play for fun, I don´t plan to be a great rock star someday.
I´m planning to buy my own acoustic guitar now...In fact, if you have any tips on good brands for beginners, PM, please

Very cool guitar Batman. Dean are a maximum quality brand, but i only like their Explorers and Flyings, the rest of models are very....modern for me? I'm not a great Pantera fan

The sound of those axes are plenty, full of thickness and nice bright...even if you plays a Razorback! haha.
Who knows, maybe i'll add to my gear a Dean Schenker in a future. Is a very elegant guitar, and the sound is amazing. But this year i've got 2 guitars, maybe next year. But i'll don't stop to buy gear, cuz the next week i'll get a Marshall JCM 600 head. A rare model with amazing sound. 60W tube amp, smaller size, on where i dislike 2 things: the place for the chasis (above  ) and miss presence control, but the sound is powerful.
Anyway, i'll do some pics of the gear, lots of things for show.

Hello,

I became a little bit of a guitar collector in the ‘90’s, owning as many as fourteen at one time. I’ve scaled things back over the last few years.

My current gear is:
1. Taylor 6-string Acoustic
2. Taylor 12-string Acoustic
3. Gibson Explorer 90 (Matthias Jabs Model)
4. Gibson Explorer Studio (Custom White)
w/Fernandes Sustainer Pickup
5. Dean Michael Schenker V Custom (Black & White w/Flames)
6. Fernandes Ravelle Elite (Ivory)
7. Fernandes Ravelle Elite (Black)
8. Ibanez Destroyer (I cut holes in this one and painted it Fluorescent Orange. The guitar is a mess but
still plays just fine.)

My favorite is probably my Explorer 90, followed by my Explorer Studio (the current smaller explorer) which I had painted classic white. I also added a pickguard and Fernandes Sustainer Pickup to it.

Very nice, MercuryJabs, i had a Dean Schenker at the store where i work and it was gorgeous ! They have some EVO Les Pauls that are 50% cheaper than Gibsons and let me tell you that for the price i was always impressed with their quality. Great stuff from Dean ...

Anyways as far as i'm concerned, i brought down my rig to smaller proportions beacause the kid within ourselves wants to buy everything that's out there

1. Gibson LP Custom
2. US Fender Strat (cream white)
3. US Fender Strat (black loaded with dimarzios and floyd)
4. Epiphone Dot 335 (great guitar for the price)
5. Ibanez EX
6. Hagstrom Acoustic
7. Yamaha Acoustic
8. Fender P-Bass Japan

For the amps i used to play with Marshall stacks but eventually found that they were way too loud for clubs, bars and corpo contracts ... i used to drive the people crazy hehehehe  So i use an ADA Mp1 (George Lynch anyone ??? ) wich is *very* versatile for what i do with a TC Electronic Gmajor fx and a peavey 50/50 tube power amp. i don't use many pedals ... mainly a rocktron talkbox, moded mxr phase90 and a wah sometimes !

as long as it keeps me inspired that's all i need
