2008 POS Tour (Trinidad & Tobago)

You're very welcome, if they can manage to fit us in for their next world tour, we'll absolutely love it!!! I will be properly prepared in such an instance....and I am sure more people would come out, because the amount of people that didn't look to come because of the previous concert that fizzled out, this has restored our faith with interest. :)

Before I forget, I have to give a definite mention to the opening band (Orange Sky), their rendition of "Is There Anybody There?" was done to very good effect, I am sure Klaus and crew would have been honoured in hearing that particular cover. They delivered a solid set, but they acknowledged that they weren't the focus of this show...they did a bit of everything in their style, as how they always do.

TYTYTY so very much for giving us such wonderful words!! I have sent both ur reviews to MJ. He will read them and hopefully tell the others and they will be so glad to hear that T&T was a huge success!!!!! RAWK ON!!!
SCORPS RULE!!!!!!

You are kidding - are you really going to send our comments to Matthias (hope I'm not mis-interpreting the "MJ" there)? Oh man, that would be so cool, thank you very much SS. Tell them they MUST return!!!

One thing I'd like to elaborate on from my initial post. I had mentioned that there were a lot of younger fans out there in the crowd. One of them I know, the guy must be 21. He only knew a handful of Scorps songs but when word got out that the band was coming to TnT another friend and I gave him the album collection to listen to. He was converted overnight, and told me this was the best concert he'd ever been to.

Which just goes to show - great music knows no bounds, be it age, race or geography. Anybody who wants to write off this band as over-the-hill has an open invitation to visit us in TnT. We'll be more than happy to set them straight.

Already done Steffen. Yes MJ is Matthias!
BTW they have the 4 generation thing all over the world. They see anywhere from my age to 5 years old and maybe younger in the audience! In Reno last year, I saw young girls in their teens and 20's screaming crazy for Matthias and Klaus (I was at the stage between those two, so I didn't see the reaction for Pawel and Rudolf) and I was shocked and pleased that these girls could still scream for these guys who have been touring over 30 years! :P

Pawel and Rudi were a big hit with the ladies, I can tell you! And you're right about James, he DOES remind me of Animal from the Muppet Show - and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Does he ever sit still?

Tell Matthias that my only complaint is now every time I listen to their albums it will be a let down, cause I'll always be thinking about how bloody great they sound live. The next time they come down here, I don't care what I have to do, but I WILL find a way to meet them backstage and shake their hands and say thank you for bringing such unforgettable music into our lives.

Btw, do they also do an interval in other shows where all the members play a different type of drum at the same time? That really took me by surprise. I've never seen any other band do that. Are these guys cool or what?!

You folks who are waiting for them to come to your country, I am so happy for you. You have NO idea what kind of treat you are in for. Enjoy it for me!

Have fun!!
And no, James doesn't seem to sit still for long. Just ask Kathleen, who hung out with him and Athena when Kottak played in California in July. After the show, Kat called me at 3am (my time) from outside the bar and James asked to talk to me and said This is your crazy stickman!! (I have been calling him that since last year) then asked if they woke me up and I said Yeah but who the hell cares? He wished me a Happy Bday. Then Athena (who James called crazy stickgirl) came on the phone to say Happy Bday and was trying to talk to me but the gang in the background was acting crazy and she said These guys are such boners!! and I laughed so loud and hard I thot I woke up my neighbors. That was such an incredible birthday present!!

Thanks man, I know it sounded familiar, but I just couldn't remember for the life of me what it was, my head was racing after Rock You Like A Hurricane...

I have been listening to Scorpions for most of my relative short life (listening for a total of 20 years), I always thought that I would have had to go to another country to hear them perform...so having them being able to come here, was just......just......impossible to put into words how to convey that level of emotion.

And Steffen, thanks for bringing up that fact in the interval where all the members played a different drum! I also cannot think of a single concert where any band ever did that either!!!

Well I finally managed to sleep for 2 hours, my entire body feels like a solid plank now, and I'm loving it greatly!!! :D

Reading this post reminded me of the first time I saw the Scorps live. I remember I didn't have money and when my mother and my brother bought my ticket one week before the show I broke in tears. And when the day of the concert came I couldn't believe that after 10 years I finally could see them live. When I was on my way to the concert I heard on the radio about the concert and I got a feeling that I can't still describe. I arrived 30 minutes before the hour of the concert and I saw something that I thought I wouldn't see in my life...The legend on stage that said: "SCORPIONS Unbreakable" illuminated with red lights. That's an image that I will never forget. I got so excited that I started crying even before the concert.

I'm pretty happy for you T&T because now you know what is to see the SCORPIONS live. I hope you see them again very soon.

Long live to the SCORPIONS because of all the beautiful stories and experiences that all of the fans have because of their music and energy!!!

Just one question...Did they play HEY YOU???
Rock has no age, if it's good it will become a legend that will overpass us, it will last as long as the stars shine on

SCORPIONS, best band ever!!!

Well rereading my post about James and Athena made me realize that it may have sounded like bragging and for that I sincerely apologize. It was more to express the awesomeness of those two and what a down-to-earth guy James is. It was an exciting experience, but never would have happened without my sistahs, Kat and KC!! Thx girls, you both rawk!!! \m/  :P
Yeah Marina, MJ did not wish me a Happy Bday!!!  I meant to bring that up to him in Costa Mesa, but like most everything else, completely slipped my mind!!! kkkkkkk  No worries tho, he's still my guy!! In the "fave of the group" sort of way of course!! :P

Hey all, just a little follow up on the show.

I see that one of the Forum regulars made a separate thread above with a nice review of the show by one of our local newspapers. I've posted two other links below for your benefit. Both are from our country's leading daily newspapers. If either link doesn't work, please let me know.

Trinidad Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.tt/entertain1.html

Trinidad Express: http://www.trinidadexpress.com/index.pl/article_news?id=161379838

I'd like to also mention that the front page of the Guardian contained a half-page photo of Rudi and Matthias doing their thing on stage. Now as I've said earlier, I have attended all the major rock shows in Trinidad over the last couple decades, and they have always been highlighted in the press afterwards. But this is the first time (correct me if I'm wrong here) that a rock concert has made the front page of one of our newspapers, and with such a prominent photo. Now if that doesn't give you an idea of the impact the Scorps had on the local audience, I don't know what will! The Guardian also has a shot of one of my favourite moments - James showing his R&R tattoo. A buddy of mine from work brought in some photos he took at the show and he got that one as well. It's now the wallpaper on my computer at work. 8)

Oh and ScorpsSistah: thanks for posting the links; I'll be sure and visit MJ's website!
