Don't worry, I may record and whatnot, but I highly doubt it would be for too long. It's too good a chance to pass up, but I'll still manage what I can do....*looks at clock and counts down*

Well I'm just about ready to leave home to head up to the concert site....90 minutes drive away, then to relax and wait for the gates to open. I'll let you all know how it went tomorrow, depending on whenever I wake up.

Well I just came back from the concert a few hours ago. I've attended EVERY major rock concert in Trinidad since the 1980s, but the Scorps BLEW EVERYONE AWAY. This is the best show we have ever had here in TnT, bar none. I was just a few feet away from the stage and friends of mine were doing some recording. That left me with nothing to do but enjoy every single minute of the show. Thank God today is a public holiday, because my voice is shot to hell and I couldn't have made it out to work anyway. Some quick notes before I go catch some sleep:

After all these years, it is amazing to watch these guys perform songs that they have been doing for so long, yet they seemed to be enjoying it like it was their first performance.

Rudi and Matthias don't just play their guitars. It's an all-out assault. I kept expecting to see sparks fly.

The audience was especially appreciative of James and Pawel. After James did his drum solo (totally excellent!) he ripped off his shirt to show the Rock and Roll Forever tattoo across his back. The crowd went friggin' nuts.

Klaus Meine is one of the best vocalists in Rock. Ever. Challenge anyone in the POS audience on that and we will beat you down.

The crowd was a healthy mix of old and new fans, many of whom weren't even born when "Hurricane" came out.

Finally, there is no way to really describe the feeling of being a part of thousands of fans and singing every line to "Wind of Change" and "Rock You Like a Hurricane" along with Klaus. My 2 favourite Scorps tunes played back-to-back!

I hope the band gets time to read these posts. Thank you guys SO MUCH for giving the fans here the best show we've ever had. We hope this will not be your last visit!

Hi Steffen,

Thank you for writing such wonderful review!
It sounds like the show went so well and everyone was so happy with the Scorpions.
It is so amazing to hear that almost everyone who went to the Scorpions shows said they played like as if it was their first time.
They have just finished their Brazil and Mexico tour and they still played like they have just started to tour today.
Amazing!

I enjoyed your review very much! 8)

Well I have only now arrived back home from the concert (looks at the time and shrugs)...

*sighs and wonders what could I ever say about that concert...*

To sum it up, Scorpions F***ING KICKED ASS!!!!!

The level of intensity from the band was intimidating, we've always seen them doing their live performances, but this just took everything to a next level for this concert. They had more energy than many bands who are half their age, a blind man can could see their passion for delivering on stage...I didn't really tape much, I just chose to live the experience and have my memories to look back upon...

There were many songs that made my night...from "The Zoo" to "321" to "Holiday" (perfect for us since today is a national holiday :D ) to "Bad Boys Running Wild" to "Big City Nights" to "Humanity" to "No One Like You" to "Rock You Like A Hurricane", they all had me going fully, Rudi and Matthias were unbelievably sick on those guitars, James' drum solo was top of the line (especially with the showing his tattoo on his back...the crowd went mad with that session), Klaus was just about as perfect as I could expect from a live performance. My lighter fell apart after having it lighting for the entire performance to "Still Loving You"...The *only* song that I wished they played was "Send Me An Angel", but that was minor. However, the clincher for me was hearing "Wind Of Change", it literally brought tears to my eyes, I didn't expect to hear them play that, but they were just that damned brilliant. Hearing that crowd sing those songs like never before, I never expected to have a scene like that here in our tiny country!

It was worth every cent, it sucked that I couldn't afford VIP, the crowd ambiance in General Admission was nowhere as good as VIP, a lot of them were simply standing up and listening, thank god I had my crew to go nuts with...but if they are to ever come back (and I hope and pray they will one day), I am sure to be front and centre, enjoying every bit of it.

To the Scorpions, on behalf of myself as well as the rest of T&T, who I am sure would have similar sentiments, we say a great thank you, and please, DON'T LET THIS BE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT FOR US DEDICATED FANS. PLEASE COME BACK AGAIN!!!! :D :D :D

I'll try to give more details as time goes by, right now I'm still running on pure adrenaline alone! I want more!!!
It feels so hard to go back to listening to recordings after having them lighting up our country though :(.

Hi SPK,

Thank you for your great, great review!!!
I like reviews like yours or other poeple from your country very much.
I know after hearing the same setlist over and over makes fans bored, but when I read the reviews like yours, it makes me feel so happy and feel the atmosphere there so closely.
How exciting to know the people in your country loved the show so much.
I love "Wind Of Change" very much, too.
I hope the Scorpions will stop by there again and again. 8)

We know it was to be expected as per their reputation, but it's still one thing to hear about it, and another thing to experience the real deal!

I only took like one video early on, but I dunno how the audio quality is going to be, since I could pick up massive distortion from just on the camera review...I'll put it on my PC and upload it on youtube in a bit, but don't expect the best quality footage though :( .

Just reviewed the footage, and the audio came out horrible...so I won't disgrace them by putting them up....I apologize for it though :(

SPK: man, it sucked that you weren't up in VIP. For me, it was worth every dollar I paid. Everything from my neck down is hurting today from all the jumping up and down.

I could tell that Klaus was getting exhausted up there, but he was a real trouper and the band seemed to draw upon a lot of the crowd's energy. I'm annoyed that I couldn't get a drumstick - they threw out a lot into the crowd but all I had to show for it was my drink got spilled all over my shirt. I spent most of the show smelling like vodka but what the hell. And you're right - many of these younger bands could learn a lot from the Scorps. The only way to listen to this band is LIVE! The records just won't sound the same to me any more :( .

I would have loved to be in VIP, but I hadn't been paid for my work last month, so I was already running on fumes just to get a Gen. Adm ticket....but that's how life goes, I was glad I could have made that small sacrifice just to be there....

My neck isn't hurting me yet....though I know once I go to sleep, that will change VERY quickly...it was a perfect last hurrah for my long hair in the meantime...
