YES ¡¡¡ I absolutelly listen to ABBA while I was a child ¡¡

I liked them very much ,and the girls seemed to me so gorgeous ¡¡

I don´t use to hear them anymore ,I don´t have any CD of them....But they do have nice music.

The good thing about sax is that you don´t need a band to enjoy playing it, I mean it sounds great although you´re playing it alone.
Maybe I´m mistaken ,tell me what you think.

Are you going to Costa Mesa?? I´m reading all the preliminars for the gig and I´m getting damned green of envious

Which is the time over there?? For me it´s 15,20 hs, and don´t know what´s the hour difference between us.

And where are you besides being in USA ??

Kisses,

Hey no need to feel "embarrased"....I'm in my 40's also. Our age shows our dedication and long standing admiration for the Scorps, and let's not forget the boys are no young boys any longer themselves :)
With age comes strength, wisdom, endurance and often a more laid back attitude toward things. this is not to dis my younger friends just making a point that all ages are important and bring value to the mix.
Glad to meet you !

Hello Adriana,

I just returned from a short trip. The funny thing is I do not usually go away that often but I guess this month, it turned out to be two weekends in a row. I have an iPhone/PDA but I cannot write post from there when I am away from home. For some reason the PDA does not handle this website too well..maybe too much memory and I have to wait until I get home to my real computer. My nephews wanted to attend the Dallas Cowboys Football training camp up North since the team is here in California this year and it is their favorite team. Then, bad news, I came home and my dear friend's father is in the hospital with no diagnosis yet and I hope it all turns out ok.

Anyway, I should be going to the concert in Costa Mesa and actually my friend with the ill father is supposed to go so of course we will play it by ear. I am about an hour from Costa Mesa, I live in northern Los Angeles County. It is 10:53 pm or 22:53 here right now. Yes sometimes the sax is a cool instrument on it's own depending on the music and atmosphere. It sounds kind of cozy.

Hope all is well.

Ciao!

Sal ,I´ve read somewhere else that you told that you work with elderly people , can you tell me more about it ???

By the way, I´ve read something and listen to the last conference Randy Pausch gives , as a proffesor , ( about a year ago) and he really is an example of how to live and how to die well and in peace.

If you haven´t read of it ,this 48 years old man ,was a proffesor I belive in programs of PC , wellknown in his speciality, who was diagnosed of pancreas cancer with liver metastasis a year ago.
He actually dies some days ago.

In that conference he actually makes jokes about his illness.
He prepare himself ,to make a proper goodby to his 3 kids and wife. And he talks about achieving your childhood dreams.

If you want you can reach it at
Watch on youtube.com

If I hadn´t wrote the link correct ,you search for Randy Paush and there appears the link.

I would like to share it with the rest of the people in the forum ,but really don´t know if they are going to like this kind of stuff here , I will rather wait for your opinion .

Please let me know what you think.

Now it´s 22,30 and I´m about to take a bath and bathe Ivan too ,in order to get some sleep.

Good night Sal ¡¡¡

Hello,

Well no definitive news on my friend's Father. At least they have ruled out a stroke but they do not know why he has no strength in his legs and cannot walk/stand. He had Polio when he was 1 years old but only recently used a walker to walk. The MRI shows some kind of spinal degeneration but my friend is afraid since her good friend's Mother had similar symptoms and passed away within two weeks of advanced bone cancer. Poor man was in the basement of the hospital getting the MRI yesterday when we had a pretty good earthquake. They could not take him back to his room upstairs for three hours until the elevators started working again. Well...we keep our fingers crossed and prayers going.

Are you sure I was the one who posted regarding working with elderly people? Unless I was talking about taking care of my Parents who are in their 70's now. I am an Auditor for the local Department of Public Health here in Los Angeles. I have done audits in some of our health centers and hospitals and seen a lot of ill people but I don't recall specifically that they were elderly. I actually have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Environmental and Occupational Health and was an Environmental Health Specialist for a long time but I got tired of investigating food borne illness cases in our restaurants so....I transferred into our administrative offices and go figure......I do not have the education or experience in auditing but I was given the chance and now I am there!

You mentioned you were a doctor right? Wow I love medical stuff....I read so much on health issues and I guess I like working for a health agency but your job is fascinating. Do you work in a hospital? I heard about that professor passing away but I did not remember too much else about him. I will watch the video and then write back.

Ok....have a good night's rest and kisses as well. Buona Notte to you and Ivan:)

Hello Sal, I searched for your sentence : "serious when I am taking care of my elderly parents ", and you were absolutelly right, I misanderstood parents for patients .In fact it may have been me deniyng ,cause this is preety much like what Ivan migth be writting 30 years from now¡¡¡

So sorry to hear about your friends parents news, in fact yes, I´m a doctor ,but neurologic diseases are not my field , but they are serious illness to deal with .Have they ruled out Gillain Barre syndrome?
This appears after an infectious disease , and its acute, beggining generally by the feet , legs and moving upwards , and is inmunologic mediated.

I´ll be waiting for your news .

Oh and yes , I work in a hospital in dialysis area , and now I´m studying risks of cardiovascular disease ,such as the chronic renal disease ,hypertension and metabolic syndrome and diabetes, that´s the reason for my late 2 masters , I´ve done diabetes and I´m finishing Hypertension, and yeap :D I really like my life as a doctor. Not much spare time ,that I should regret.

I´m now at home studying , cause in a month I have exams.

bye Sal , let´s be in touch later,

Hello,

I still don't know much more about my friend's Father but thanks for the info. You could be right, I have heard about Guillan-Barre but don't know the topic well. Well good luck on your studies, you can celebrate once you are done.

It is all interesting to me.... I like Health stuff. So you are studying diabetes? Is it also on the rise there as it is here in the U.S.? It looke like our diets and lifestyles here are not helping matters and now both diabetes and hypertension are too common. My Aunt in Italy has said that in Europe, they have some kind of cure for Diabetes. Do you know if this is true?

Well I guess you don't have a lot of spare time but at least you sound like you like your profession. That is important to have a positive outlook and enjoy your days at work because that is not always the case with many people. Do you plan to study other areas/illnesses?

Happy Friday!

Good night Sal :D

Yes , we are having the same raising of incidence of type 2 Diabetes , as the rest of the world. And it´s related to ours habits , sedentarism and diet as you have said.

I don´t know anything about having found a treatment that could be used as a cure yet , but your aunt may have hear something about a treatment of DBT 1 that´s autoinmune , or may be about pancreatic cells transplants that are already being done. You can tell me later.

And i´ve finished the Master in Diabetes , and began the one in Hypertension ,cause they are risk factors for developing kidney diseases, nephropaties, in the last 4 years.

I´m finishing Hypertension in March 2009 ,and I´m hoping I could have some rest for a while. At least from having exams.

Is this weekend the Costa mesa recital ? Enjoy it ¡¡¡and please I want some info later ¡

Hugs,

I am on my way out to do some shopping this morning and it is already warm.

Yes, I will let you know how the concert went :D

Hello Gals,

It is the next day now and I am off from work. I got up just a short time ago since I went to bed at 3am (something I don't get to do too often) because it was a long drive home and we went out to breakfast at 1 am. I took a vacation day since I have over 5 weeks banked up and have not taken hardly any time off from work and plan to make a day of it and go to a spa with my friends. A mini vacation

I made it to the concert and had a great time. They sounded great and I like the addition to James' drum solo. He had the rest of the boys come out and play their own personal drums all together  It sounded kind of like a Brazilian beat..cool. I was laughing through the concert because a boy about 10 years old was sitting behind me and guess what? He was singing the words to almost every song  Soo cute! Sammy sounded good too although I am not as familiar with his music. It was kind of cool though since I have been to Sammy's nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Hi Gabi...I don't mind you joining us. I tend to write more on these one on one topics because I think I just do better that way....but I know we are all different. One big reason I joined this forum was because of the international feel and people and it is a little difficult to keep a dialogue with people in the General section....at least for me.

I am very bummed though that I did not get to meet forum members. :( I really wanted to but this time there was too many complications. First my friend's sick father and we were not sure who was still going then we had to arrive late. One person in my crowd had to work late and I knew we were only going to arrive seconds before the start or when Sammy had already started....and we barely got there on time!!! I did not know when I was going to meet them if we had no time before and we got seats in the very back so I doubt the venue would let me go up to their awesome section and stand around. When I bought the tickets back in May, I was pretty new here and it did not even dawn on me that they would meet and I did not purchase tickets near them.

Also my three friends are not forum members and it did not know anybody and it did not seem like they were too concerned about meeting up and I did not want to cause more complications ....I would have gone alone and I did not want to seperate when I originally planned to be with them. Also...I have not been a forum member that long so I think I would have had a difficult time finding and recognizing them as well because I did not plan in advance so ...................I explained all this to my friend Martha ...the one that is the main die hard Scorps fan and she said next time......she very much would like to purchase better tickets up front with the FOSers and as long as we tell the rest of our friends up front in advance then we could seperate. We only live once and we would like to get better tickets up front and meet the FOSers but I don't want to put some of my other friends that cannot fit that into their budget in an awkward position. Sooooo now that we know better.......we plan on it next time :)

I think it would be awesome if we had an International meeting

Wow...I had a lot of energy this morning and did not realize how much I wrote  I wonder why

Hope all is well. Ciao!

Hello,

Ok I took a few days off from work last weekend and now I have been getting home late trying to finish up. Not today! I left on time...I am tired.

Anyway....yes I know A-HA....in fact I think I have their song in my Ipod. Take on me? Really brings me back to high school :) I used to listen to all that alternative music and the last few years I have gone to some music stores here that sell some of that old stuff. I still love it but then again I am a music fanatic.

This week flew by and I have not had time to read many posts here but it looks like FOS have posted some pictures from the concert. I did not take any pictures so they were fun to look at. I remembered one thing that Matthias (at the end of the concert) was licking some guitar picks and sticking them on his face. Silly boy  Also the concert was good but if any small complaint...I think the venue sound system/people were not too great because they did not sound as loud or clear as they did the last time I saw them. Well this is only my second Scorps concert and I barely went to my first last September so I have only one comparison..but that last show was clearer....maybe because a different venue. My crazy friend (good crazy) who took me last year has been to thier concert 25 times. Costa Mesa was #25!!

Surely if we ever do an International meeting...I shall keep you in mind. I have a friend here Charon, who is from Buenos Aires and has family there and one day she said she would like to go with me there or/and to Spain. So who knows....one day I may end up in Argentina :D

Ok....have a good night!

Dear Sal ; if you come to my country ,let me know , I would like to welcome you.

And ,I'm trying to fix a trip to Spain for next year.I´ve a doctor friend of mine, who is working in a lab there ,and has invited me to stay at her house. I´m having the idea to fly on next winter vacations ,with Ivan.

So maybe we have some chances to finally meet us .

I didn´t knew that the 3 band members of a-ha had gathered togheter , and are playing again.
I looked at Morten photos and he is still a remarkable handsome man , in his 48,
Just like me ¡¡

I haven´t look at any pictures yet, and tomorrow and on Saturday I will be in classes , so I´ll search fot them later, on Sunday.

I will write to you again then.

Thank you for being in touch,Sal.

Hi Sal ¡¡

I´m here sitting with the books...... :D

I wanted to share with you ,I did a little research on Morten Harcket, and found he is now dating a 44 years old woman ,and she is pregnant¡

She was her assistant 2 or 3 years ago when they gathered as a-ha again.

How lucky this woman , ,damn ,I hope I could be his doctor one day ¡¡¡ He may need an hypertension specialist :D

Hope you are doing well and don´t forget to tell me about your´s friend´s father´s.

Bye.
