In other times ,when we were toghether with his dad ,he used to assist to his meetings and listen all the covers of Judas, Metallica , Iron Maiden , Black Sabath and his daddy own stuff , so he is used to hearing metal ,and by the way ,he likes it.

I also played the same thing at home, beside Scorpions of course¡¡¡.

Thanks god ,he spends much time with his grand fathers ( mi parents ) and my dad use to listen to classic music , if not ,it only would be hard rock and metal for him :D

And Sal , it´s true , they bring sunshine in our lives , you can imagine the hapiness it was having him ( I became pregnant when I was 41 ,It was God plans, not mine ¡¡ so ,by now keep on spoiling your nephews.

I´m so happy to see, Adriana, that you got so many friends here. But you know something, it is so easy to contact you and send a post to you, since you seem to be a very warm, caring person! I can sense your genuine caring from your answers and posts :P :P

BTW, classical music is so good for anybody, whatever is their other musical taste! I think it gives the basics, and from there, it is good to continue....whereever you want. :D

Hi Lenita ¡¡¡

You surely know what I´m talking about ,cause you´re a full time mam from 3 childs.

I want to thank you for your words ,cause I´m a very sensible person, and its quite easy to touch my soul.

I´m feeling very confortable among you , and its my wish ,that life gives me the opportunity some day ,to meet you all. It´s too much to ask, isn´t it? But God proves me to be hearing me in earlier situations, so ...who knows....,maybe this one is too for real.

A big hug and a kiss for you ,Lenita ,and let´s stay in touch, please, I´m really enjoying the company of my new friends :D

It is a wonderful feature in a person to be sensitive, to "go with the flow" and to experiences feelings strongly. A cynic , a "hard boiled egg" misses so much in life  To follow your heart and to keep your sensitivity needs a lot of guts, because it has the other side of the coin as well : you can get badly hurt easier, with an easy access to your soul, like you said. BTW, I am talking generally, although I´m saying "you"

Still, remember an old phrase: It´s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. :P :P

Dear Lenita ;

you seem to know me in person ¡¡¡
Although you´re speaking in general, it´s pretty much like me.

It took me long to decide better, what it was gonna be , don´t feel and avoid being hurt,or being exposed.
But you know , it´s really not our choice ,it´s in our nature , and no matter what your brain chooses ,your heart always decides...
So ,the great thing of becaming older, is that yo do find some answers while you´re growing up.

And what can you tell me about you? Which were your choices ?,in fact I think you´re pretty much like me ,aren´t you?

Keep on writing Lenita, I really enjoyed our little talks ¡¡

Hah! I´ve got another soul sister from you, I see. I´m laughing , because I like to go into deep waters in a conversation quite fast and easily, esp. if I sense that the other one on the same wave - length.

Have you read the topics "When the moment is gone" and "Bringing back the past" ? There I am having very good talks with Roberta (another soul sister  ) and others, and you can get to know a lot about my personality from there, because I really stopped thinking WHAT I believed and thought about different issues. Well, I actually do , always , and I tend to take things a bit too seriously sometimes, even if I see the funny side most of the times :D .

One of the best things of being a bit older, is that you are not SO badly lost anymore about what it is that you like and want, and you are not SO dependent of other people´s opinion of you anymore : you have the courage to be true to yourself! And only then , I think , you can be truly happy. After all, we have only this one life to live, and it´s such a pity to waste it all for following the path the others have showed to you :(

Here comes one more dilemma : if you are a so called NICE person, trying to please others and to make the others feel good, then, you lose yourself in the process. And you feel bad and selfish to follow your own heart.
But, I believe that even if you, Adriana, are sensitive, you must have a lot of strength in you and realism as well, since you can work as a doctor, without becoming numb or a cynic . So you are not a complete "dreamer" with an open heart. I tend to be, sometimes, and if I hadn´t these small children and a normal family life to attach me firmly in reality , I would be hitch-hiking across the world , drinking a lot , singing with street bands and - of course following Scorpions to their gigs.

Oh ¡¡ you´re ready to know a little more about me ,....

I was married only once ,not to Ivan´s father.

He was another doctor I met while I was doing my training in nephrology. First we get along well , but , 10 years later.... I was bored to death....

So , I gave it up , and met Walter. A kind of rolling stone , I couldn´t help falling in love with him while he tries to find his way out in order to teach me how to play the guitar ....he tried so hard that finally we got involved¡¡¡

Again ,it was a great beginning , and , like you ,I did have my fantasy of following him and his band.

It didn´t happen , but while it last ( we were about 10 years togheter ) , I had fun ,....and the most important thing to happen ..I have my child.

After his birth, and realizing I´m his only support , I turned to my work and my studying with renew forces, so by now , I´m finishing my second post-grade.( It has been 4 long years of traveling , studying and having exams, besides working :( ,and making some spare time to play with Ivan , and although I liked it , I´m feeling tired.)Of traveling and studiyng ,not for playing with my son ,

I might have some strenght , I faced all these by myself.

And I do like being a doctor, its´m my way of helping people, and feeling myself and my life usefull

So ,now ,dear Lenita , I´m going to seek you in the posts you suggested me , so afterwards , I may be able to answer the second part of your topic , how can we manage not to lose ourselves, while we try to please people who know us. ..Humm, it´s a difficult one

Not bad for our next topic.

So we shall see some posts from Ivan soon
I am glad you have a sense of humor...I am down to earth but can be so silly sometimes :)

That is great that Ivan is exposed to diverse musical styles. I grew up that way as well. My parents grew up in Italy so they like classical and Opera. Growing up, I heard it and actually hated it but now as an adult, I sometimes go to an Opera with them. At the same time, I had two siblings that are much older than I am so they were already into Rock when I was about Ivan's age. Then in high school, I played the saxophone and got into a jazz band. So....now as an adult...I mainly listen to rock but can have a good time at just about any type of concert. Believe me that is good for him, he will appreciate listening to different music with your Parents. Wow he was born when you were 41, I could kinda relate since my Mother was close to 40 when I was born and I have several friends having children about that age now as well. Well you know what I say?
It is true....things happen for a reason!! :D

Hi Sal ¡¡¡

I´m really enthusiastic with the idea of Ivan posting here. I gonna work on this.

I like very much classical music , don´t like too much opera.
My favourites concerts are the ones for violin and for piano from Tchaicovsky . So I´m glad that my son listens to classic music.

You were in a Jazz band ¡¡, :) let us know a little more about that experience , I feel that gathering with other musicians and playing with a band is an outstanding feature for me.
Maybe I will be able to join to some old guys when I reach my sixties and make true my dream of being a musician too.

And lastIy let me tell you that I had my son when I was 42 years old , so I ´m impatient for you to tell me how it was having a 40 years old mam, what did you like and what you didn´t.

I´m trying to be the best mam for him, but he complains that I don´t play with him enough.

I´ll be waiting your news ,and Lenita´s as well.

See you girls ,

Hello! You must have read my mind as I was planning to write tonight. I was out of town visiting a friend with a newborn baby for a few days and did not have a computer. Anyway...

I liked playing in a jazz band because it was a new exposure since I did not listen to jazz before. I was 13 when I started and played through high school. I loved it since my High School had a long established program with a great instructor, Mr. Rinaldo. He received a lot of awards for his work and so did the bands over his long teaching career. He was also a professional musician so he really exposed us to a lot of people and experiences. We also traveled every spring break to other parts of the country to meet other students in similar programs. And the hardest thing was competing in jazz festivals almost every weekend. But those were some of the best years :) I don't listen to jazz as much as I used to but I can go to a jazz club and adapt easily. In fact I have been to a few this year and it is a nice change to a rock concert once in a while  Do you play an instrument?

Well about having a mother 40 years old. You know I cannot say anything negative really. Actually by the time I came along my parents were more experienced with being parents since they already had two older kids. The only negative thing maybe is just that my friend's parents were still younger and maybe liked to do things that younger parents like such as going to rock concerts, amusement parks, etc. My parents were never into that stuff and maybe that would have been fun for me but it was not a detriment since my friends would invite me with their families. Well you seem to be young at heart liking Scorps and all so I think it depends on the individual person.

On the other hand I think as we get older we are usually more financially stable and gain wisdom and.... we actually mostly make better choices and do it comfortably. This to me is important because I think my parents had a more mature wisdom and maybe they learned what is important when they were younger. So when they made decisions when I was young, they were more sound and without too much drama compared to my older sisters. As we get older we don't make a big deal about small things sometimes and use almost a second nature sense. Does this make sense to you? I think the confidence rubs off on the children and they learn how to handle things maturely and quickly. Don't get me wrong...a lot of young parents may do the same and are great parents but I see a change in even myself from my 20's into my 30's and I think I would not always make the same decisions now. In fact, as a teenager, people always thought I was older than my age and teachers usually commented that I was mature but some may be individual as well.

Well you sound like you are attentive to Ivan's needs and listen to him since you said he complains about you not playing with him. Does he have any play mates, cousins? That must be hard when you probably work a lot but at least you are aware and can maybe play with him a little more when possible.

Hope all is well. Ciao! :D

Welcome to our litttle chat Sal ¡¡¡¡ I´ve missed you and my other partner ,Lenita , don´t know were she might be...., but she will show up any moment. :D

I sadly don´t know how to play any instrument. I´ve tried with the guitar , but it seems that the part of my brain which is involved in learning music lacks of any kind of embriologyc development.

But still, I´ve promised myself , someday , to sit down , and do my best in order to learn how to play the guitar.

Well , at least you don´t have huge complains about your parents.
I do have a little girl still leaving in my heart, and maybe I do silly things , and share childish attitudes with my son. I love playing with our animals ,or going for a walk beside the river ,helping Ivan chasing fishes with the net , and things like that . And I do like listening to loud music while dancing with him ,and going to gigs, every time I can.

But , yet ,it´s seems not to be enough ,and he makes himself sure that he let´s me know about his complains, no matter how hard I try to be always keeping an eye on him.

Maybe ,we ,childs, are always dissastified with our parents ,no matter what they are or do.

A big hug Sal , I´ll continue with my wonderings tomorrow ,

Hello,

Yes this is a nice little chat section....maybe Lenita is out of town.

Well, Ivan is at that age right now...you know when they start spending more time in school especially when they are teenagers, they start to be more preoccupied with friends. You try your best and he will one day realize your efforts.

Well maybe one day you can learn guitar...that is a nice instrument. I don't know how I became a sax player when it actually is not my favorite instrument. Do you listen to ABBA? I know they are not Rock and they are an older group but .....I just saw the new movie Mamma Mia! last night. I like those types of musicals.

Ok, I am going out for a walk before it gets dark, need to move a little after being at work all day.

Hugs and Ciao!

Sal
