On the 2004 USA tour they had auctions for each show where the winners won great seats (for the most part) and passes for a Meet & Greet. It was a great success and many fans got to meet the band. If the band wanted to raise money for charity why not have auctions for every single show on tour throughout the world where the winners get to do a Meet & Greet? I think they'd raise a lot of money and at the same time give their fans an opportunity to meet them. The cost to them would be nothing but their time, so if they really wanted to make a difference they could donate their time to their fans while the fans donate their money to charity. Perhaps 20 winners per show x $50-$100+ per winner X 50+ shows per year
