By the way Dio really got some interesting riffs i.e. "Holy Diver" is proof that simplicity and efficiency can work together. The chorus from "All the Fools Sailed Away" is another example, such great part to pull audience along... it's just powerful to play and easy enough for the audience to follow up. I like that!

Dio's composition in early albums is a mystery to me. I found their music not regular. Because you can hear really fantastic songs in one release and just so-so in the next one.

Too bad I've never listened to Dio - Egypt. A mistake that I will fix as soon as possible.

I hope Dio is not a "best-of-discs" orientated artist.

Yeah, Dio has bloody awesome riffs in their early records, well ecspesially in Holy Diver. The riffs itself are pretty simple, but Vivian plays lots of licks/fills or such. Listen to Straight through the heart for example. I like it.

"Dio - Egypt"... I couldn't describe that riff better than you did Redman. Creepy is the word for it The tempo is not too slow. It's moderately fast for an "axe-swinging-riff". Don't you think?

It makes you feel that an unknown sensation is crawling to you and reaching for your feet... Just a guitar riff Excellent choice.

Yeah ...but the chains are on!

One more riff to my top-list... and "to-play-list" Thanks for the shortcut Redman

Yeah well, something like that I guess, hehe. You should see the video of it (from 1984, Philadelphia) if you haven't already. I have We Rock DVD which has that and one other concert (both are short concerts though) and it's awesome.

Hey, I noticed on your top ten riffs that you had Hey You by the masters of rock, Scorpions. I was wondering if you could help me out with Matthias' solo.
Please reply.

Thanks,
