videos won't play

Unread postby retvi » February 4th, 2004, 5:57 am

The videos on the website will not play for me. They may play a couple seconds of sound and then 'buffer' again for a while. Also, there is no video at all. Help please. It's really starting to ***** me off! Blasted computers!

It happens for me, too. I can't even get to the new stuff at all. I think it's because we may have outdated versions of realplayer. Oh well

Well I thought that too & updated my realplayer but it still didn't work.

Are either of you using a wireless network?

My computer was on a wireless network but the main computer that was hooked up by cable was working fine so we ran a cable to the one that was wireless & now realplayer works fine.

I have a high speed cable connection & it would not run at all on the computer using the wireless network.

Well, I have a dial up modem now. When I did have a cable modem, it didn't work either. My, personal, opinion is that computers are evil.

Yes retvi, computers can be evil. Just take a hammer to it & hit any key (very gently of course) & that should help.

Seriously though if your dial-up connection is slow, realplayer won't run very well, if at all.

very true, saylorgirl, but I have gotten TSO vidoes and Zeppelin stuff no problem with realplayer. It's a crying shame though.

last week i had the same problem with real one player 5.0.

now i`ve the latest version 6.0. connection with a slow dial up but there`s no problem to view the video.

i think you have to update your real one player. the best: uninstall the 5.0 and THEN install the latest version.

best wishes

please try to update your real one player and look für your firewall and proxies.

some firewalls cut the connection or want to change proxies.

when the video don`t work after this steps, it`s a problem with your computer.

best wishes

Well, now it keeps 'buffering' over and over. It will count up, then down, then up... It will then play a couple of seconds of audia, but still not video.
