Hello to all. I know that I am new here, but I have a favor to ask of you all. I have a internet friend who lives in Hungary who is a huge Scorpions fan. She would really like to enter the forums, but there is a problem. She is blind and her computer program won't allow it. So I was wondering if you could e-mail her and let her know what is going in the forums and what they are about. I try my best to give her information about the Scorpions when I can, but I am sure that there are some of you who know more than I do. It would really mean alot to her and me. Her name is Gabriella Huszar. She is from Szeged Hungary and her e-mail address is huga@mail.tiszanet.hu.

Her computer program is specially designed for the blind. It is a talker/reader. It reads the e-mails that we send her and if she wants to send us e-mails, she talks into the computer. She said that it was designed by an American blind man. We have been sending e-mails to each other since September. This is how she explained it to me. So give it a try.

but how can we organize this? maybe our webmaster Wolfgang can send some "digest" of the main discussions? or maybe your friend can subscribe for the newsletter on this site and receive the main news when they'll come... what does she want to know?

She wants to know everything she can find out. She has a hard time understanding the website sometimes. She is just learning to speak English, so some of the words are hard for her to understand, but she is getting the hang of it.

I forgot to mention that she is interested in the forum topics mostly. I guess her biggest goal is to write a message to Klaus about how much his music means to her etc., and have him answer her back. She has told me that would mean more to her than anything. I am just trying to help her out in any way that I can. Apparently her computer program will allow her access to the website, just not to the forums.

I am currently speaking with Snitz forum members on their forum boards about your friend's situation.
They want to know what type of program that she uses to read text on websites.

I just got back from the Snitz Forums messge board. They wanted to know if she has a text reader program called JAWS. They think that it might work with the forums.
One of the members has the program and is trying it out now to see if it'll work.
If it works, I'll let you know and if it doesn't, then they'll try something else.

Great News! The JAWS program works with the forums. The user said that you can enter the forums using it, but hearing topic reply, email poster, and so forth might get annoying after hearing it for the third time. At least, it allows her to enter the forums and that's all that counts.
They gave me the website address for the evaluation of the program.
I'll post it as soon as I find out if it's the basic or full program.

The JAWS program is expensive, but I contacted the makers of the program, Freedom Scientific, to see if she can become a Beta Tester for them and get the program for free.
The Snitz Forum members provided me a direct link to the evaluation copy.

I tried out the link and it works. It'll take your friend directly to the download site.
If I find out anything from Freedom Scientific, I'll let you know.

Thanks Beowulf for all your help. She e-mailed me today and said that you were an angel and that she does have the JAWS program, and she is going to try the forums as soon as possible. She said that she had sent you an e-mail to thank you, and I thank you also!!!!

Your welcome. She emailed me to let me know how things are going. She said that her main problem is with the registration form. She is not sure if the registration was successful or not.
Hopefully, we'll have it straightened out and have her posting in no time.

OK. Gabi's main problem is that her registration didn't go through. So, I will try and help her to resign-up for the website and we'll see if we can't get her to post a topic today.

Tonia,I just wanted you to know that I helped Gabi reregister for the forum boards. She emailed me and let me know that she got her confirmation email from the Scorpions website. All she has to do now is follow the instructions in the email.
We should be seeing her on the forums real soon.
