COLMAR - who is going?

Unread postby skywriter1 » July 6th, 2005, 11:11 am

Hi everybody,

from what I´ve read here so far several members from different countries are planning to go to Colmar. So maybe we could arrange a similar FOS meeting like we did in Krefeld if someone is interested?
What do you think?

Someone here who knows Colmar? Good hotels, place to meeet etc...

I'll be there.

From the UK cheap flight with Easyjet to Geneva. I make Colmar about 150 miles to the north of Geneva. Need to check trains yet but it must be do-able.

Scooby Sue, you need to email Batty to wind her up. She can't go as she's working on the Waysted tour at the time, and doesn't sound too happy about it!

I hope that I will be there! I try to organize my travel. We wanted to go to Munich show in October but I think everybody will agree with me that we can't give this show miss with my friend! I just want to know the ticket ordering. Please Wolfy tell me the info from the tickets when you will know something about it!

I´ve checked out the hotels in Colmar and found 3 that could be interesting:

1. Ibis hotel
63 € per room (for 1 or 2 persons)
no information about if breakfast is included or not

2. Hotel Turenne
single room: 48 - 68 €
double room: 60 - 68 €
triple room: 68 €
family room: 110 € (5 persons at most)
breakfast: 7,50 € per person

3. Etap hotel
39 € per room for 1 person + 6 € additional for the 2nd and the 3rd person
breakfast: 4 € per person
In these etap hotels the transactions are made by machines, I mean there are no employees for the check in and check out. And I think you need a creditcard.

All 3 hotels are located in the center or close to the center of the city. The distance to the venue is between 2 and 3 km.
Maybe we could stay in the same hotel??

Nicola and Sue: I´ve ordered the tickets today.

I´ve checked out the hotels in Colmar and found 3 that could be interesting:

To add to the list cheapest I've found is the Roi Soleil

http://www.roi-soleil.com/htgb/frameset.htm

which appears to be 33 euros for a twin room with shower.
