10 YEARS HAVE PASSED SIENCE ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARISTS HAVE DIED. ANOTHER VICTIM OF ALCOHOL, CRISS OLIVA, DIED AT THE AGE OF 30.[3/4/1963-17/10/1993]SAVATAGE BUT METAL IN GENERAL, LOSE CRISS. A GREAT COMPOSER AND GUITARIST TOO. HE HAS LEFT US TREMENDOUS SOLOS AND A GREAT SONG THAT HE HAS WRITTEN,''BELIEVE''. I SOMETIMES CRY WHEN I LISTEN TO IT. ESPECIALLY THE VERSION THAT CRISS SINGS IT. YOU MUST HEAR IT IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT YET.

CRISS, WE LOVE YOU AND WE WISH YOU WERE HERE WITH US PLAYING THAT GUITAR...

Criss was killed by a drunk driver. Sad indeed! There was a Memorial Concert here in Tampa Bay Friday night I was unable to attend but I hear Chris Cafferty's band and Criss' brother Jon played as well as a Savatage tribute Band called Streets. http://streetsband.netfirms.com/main.html

Yes, Criss was a great guitarist - never received the recognition he deserved from the music industry - too bad for them... I had the priviledge of meeting him once & he was such a quiet nice guy... his memory will always be in my heart & his music in my soul....

Yeah, it's not fair. Still love you Criss! For me he will always be a part of Savatage, he's still here
