There have been no new updates on Roy's condition. He's still listed as in critical, but stable condition. The only other update is that they had to cut away a small piece of skull to elevate the pressure from his brain and he will be scheduled for another surgery soon to put the section of skull back.
As soon as I get any more updates, I'll post them here.

I did hear that Roy had a stroke also....can that be confirmed ?.........my heart goes out to him and his family,friends and fans......they are Las Vegas past and present.............

Yes, he did have a stroke. He died once during the first operation and had to be revived. When he suffered the stroke, that was when they had to remove part of his skull to relieve the pressure from his brain.
Luckily he has no damage to his brain due to the stroke. He has been communicating with everyone and moving his arms and legs very well. There might be some paralysis on his left side, but nothing long term or lasting.
He has been getting better everyday.

Here's another update on Roy's condition. This update is from Siegfried himself. He told a German newspaper that Roy has been off the ventilator for a week and is breathing on his own. He also said that Roy has been moving around more, laughing and joking around. He said that Roy is on the road to recovery. He also put up a message on their official website stating how they appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from everyone and how Roy is doing.
He also said that he will be picking up their World Award in Hamburg, Germany. Roy told him to go.
So, he must be getting better and better everyday.

If there are any more updates, I'll let everyone know.
It least Roy is off the ventilator which is good news.

Here's something that might be of interest to everyone.
A&E is doing a Biography of Siegfried and Roy tonight at 8:00pm EST. They will also give an update on Roy's condition.
As soon as I get a time and station on the World Awards I'll let everyone know when that will be. I do know that it will be held on Oct.22, 2003 at the Hamburg Musichall in Germany.
I hope to have more updates later on.

About the World Awards, I visited their website yesterday and it doesn't have any stations listed where this will be broadcasted. All anyone knows is that it will be shown on TV stations around the world today, but which ones and the times nobody knows.
I am assuming that it will be pretaped and shown at a later date. I will try and email them today and see if I can't get an answer about who will be airing it and when.
Roy is still doing great and Siegfried will still be going to Hamburg today to receive their award and a special one for Roy from Gorbachev.
Now for some bad news, PETA is at it again. First it was the tacky and poor taste protest rally at the Mirage protesting Siegfried and Roy and now they are accusing them of bribing the USDA. PETA sent the USDA a letter saying that an investigation needs to be held on how Siegfried and Roy obtained their liscense from the USDA. They are accusing the illusionists of bribery now.
It just makes me wonder what they will be doing next, turning the animals at the Secret Garden loose. If they ever give out an award for poor taste and stupidity, I think that it will go to PETA.
I'll be sending them another strongly worded email again as soon as I get my new glasses from the optimetrist. (I broke mine on Sunday.)
I will be giving the S&RversusPETA people my full support too against PETA on this matter.

Ok. Now that my account has been unlocked, I have some new Siegfried and Roy updates.
Here is an update on Siegfried first. Siegfried attended the World Awards in Hamburg and received two awards on behalf of Roy and himself. He was accompanied by a woman who is part of the management team in Germany. He avoided the red carpet and the reporters as he was going into the Musichall and then went back to his hotel room and skipped the awards dinner. When they showed the video footage of Siegfried and Roy, Siegfried had cried and was very emotional when he made his speech. He vowed that Roy and him would return to the stage. I don't know if that means another stage show, but more scaled back or what. I do know this that their management won't allow Siegfried to be left alone for one minute. He has to be accompanied by someone at all times due to his emotional state. A few fans did notice though that Siegfried looked tired, stressed out, and little more thinner since Roy's accident. He is now back in Las Vegas.
Here's an update on Roy's condition. Roy is improving everyday and getting much better. No one knows when they will start the surgery to replace a part of the skull that had to be removed. He is still breathing on his own and can follow people with his eyes. There is nothing wrong with his eyesight. They have been giving him an exercise to do which is tossing a ball in which I am assuming to test his hand eye coordination. The dog that Siegfried brings to him everyday was Roy's late mother's dog Piaff. He is doing very well. He has been joking and laughing with people so his spirits are high. He has also been writing notes too.
All of this are very good signs about his recovery. Someone from the Siegfried and Roy team has been very nice to keep everyone in the yahoogroup up to date about Siegfried and Roy. They even told us that Roy has a bit of a temper and doesn't like decisions made for him. So it makes me wonder what he'll say and do when he finds out that the show has been cancelled without his nor Siegfried's input into it.
Now about the allegations into bribery by PETA. Siegfried and Roy never bribed the USDA. The USDA has inspections every year on Siegfried and Roy and they pass every year. The USDA has even reported that Siegfried and Roy go above and beyond the regulations and requirements for keeping their animals. They even go above the standards set for zoos. As far as the bribery goes, PETA says that free tickets were given to USDA employees to attend the show. For one thing, the employees who were given the tickets have nothing to do with regulating Siegfried and Roy or any animal regulations whatsoever. The other thing is that the USDA employees that were given the tickets were made to go back and pay for the tickets. So there was no bribery and no under handed sneakiness on any one's part.
PETA is just grasping at straws and trying to stay in the spotlight as much as they can. I hope that they get sued by Siegfried and Roy when Roy gets out of the hospital because you know that this is making them mad.

Another Siegfried and Roy update. Siegfried told a German newspaper that Roy is now eating on his own and that he is starting to get feeling back in
his left arm.
Again this is official news from Siegfried and Roy's people on what is going on. Like I've said before they have been very nice in keeping the fanbase up to date.
If I get any more updates, I'll continue to post them here until Roy is out of the hospital and fully recovered.
I hope that a new post will be that they return to the stage.

Update: Roy has been moved from the UMC in Las Vegas to another medical facility in California for further evaluation.
They are not saying where in California for now. My guess it is to keep the tabloids away from the medical facility for now.
He will be undergoing rehabiliation at this facility for the time being.
At least, his condition is more stable for him to have been moved to another facility.
When another update happens, I will post it here.
At least, it is all good news. So keep up the positive thoughts and prayers.

They are not saying because of the tabloids, other high profile clients who need their privacy too, and because of the PETA people.

Here's another update.
It has been confirmed that Roy has been moved to UCLA Medical Center whereupon doctors upgraded his condition from critical to serious and stable condition. Siegfried is also there with him along with their manager Bernie Yuman.
Keep up the positive thoughts and prayers everyone.
Updates will be as I get them.

Also, there will be a prayer vigil at the UCLA and another one in Las Vegas. There is no specific time and date set for these yet. As soon as I find out, I'll let everyone know.
If anyone wants to participate, a few of the fans are trying to set up a prayer vigil over the internet. The details are still being worked out. I'll let everyone know about this one too.
I just wanted to add that I hope that all of the Scorpions fans in California are ok and safe. To remember, that a house can be rebuilt and belongings can be replaced, but a life can't be replaced. In other words, don't risk your life for nothing. We want all of you to be around to see the Scorpions go out on tour next year.

Here's some really good news about Roy Horn.
He is doing really well and has started his rehab. He is getting up and moving around more. He has been seeing a speech therapist to start speech therapy. Mostly because they had to freeze his vocal chords while he was tubed. He already had the surgery to replace his skull. He is eating more and laughing more.
He is doing very well and is getting stornger everyday.
Siegfried is starting to get more rest too and is hanging in there for his friend.
Also, the fans are still trying the organize prayer vigils and the cybervigil amongst starting a prayer quilt for Roy.
I will post more updates as I get them.

Here's another update. After sifting through rumors, gossip, and the actual news, I have some good news to report.
Roy is making great progress in his physical therapy and hopes to return to Las Vegas before Christmas. Also, Siegfried attended an event at the Mirage's theater where the incident occurred. He had a theory about why Roy stumbled on stage. He told a stunned crowd that Roy had a series of small mini strokes that night which caused him to stumble and lead to the tiger picking him up. Siegfried returned to the UCLA medical center after the event to be with Roy.
When I got another update, I'll let everyone know.
At least the news is getting better and better on this.

Siegfried was on the Today Show yesterday and was asked about the multi-mini strokes that Roy had and what caused them. Roy had been on blood pressure medication since his mother's death. The blood pressure pills caused his series of mini strokes and the stroke that he had in the hospital. The stroke was not caused by the blood loss due to the small puncture wound on the neck. He said that Roy is doing great in his therapy and has been ordering the nurses around by writing his orders in notes. Siegfried also said that Roy wanted to do the Today Show with Siegfried and he tried to bribe a nurse to take him to the airport. Siegfried wanted everyone also to stop calling the accident an attack because it wasn't an attack. The tiger knew that Roy was in trouble and took him backstage to get help. Roy had told Siegfried numerous times that sometimes he felt like passing out onstage. Siegfried says that no matter what they will be spending Christmas in Las Vegas as they have always done in the past. He also hopes that they will return to the stage again.
This is encouraging news that Roy is getting better everyday.
Now for the cybervigil plans. The cybervigil has been cancelled because no one in the fanbase could agree on how to do one and there are no plans to do a vigil in LA, however, the vigils will still continue in Las Vegas, but will be done at the Siegfried and Roy statue at the Mirage.
The prayer quilt is still being worked on and I'll try to get the address from the person who is doing it because she wants any Siegfried and Roy fans out there to donate a piece of cloth to it with your thoughts and prayers for them written on it. It's been kind of a hectic time for me right now due to the writing competition submissions that I am working on, so I'll hopefully get in touch with this person soon and get the address for everyone.
I'll post another update soon.
