Photographers?

Well I had to send my Nikon back cuz I had some financial difficulties, but I realize that a professional photographer (which they say I am now ) needs a professional camera NOT just an automatic!! So I have found an awesome Canon Rebel on the same website I found my Nikon, (which I fell in love with while I had it, but it's sold out,) that I will order next month and make monthly payments on it. I have to start selling real quick here tho so I can afford this.

Well, yeah... it's better to avoid automatic mode. But maybe even your compact camera must have the manual option... doesn't it?

No babe it's a simple no options plain old automatic. No SLR, nothing!! Point and shoot!! Period!!! It's okay for alot of pix, but not if you're going to be selling them. I have to have more than that, so therefore my craving for a DSLR!!!!!!!!

Yeah, automatic is just good for simple shots, whitout exploring so much. With manual you can control what you want, you "tell" the camera what do you want, don't wait it to find out by itself ehehehe DLSR are good cause you have so much possibilities but there are some compact cameras which have manual control. Of Couse there are limits for the apperture, iso and time exposuse since there's just a small lens, but it's a great way to start learning how to control the camera.

Yes, I am very lucky to open my window and if I look to the left., I get sunsets, and if I look to the right, I get sunrises. Though I usually don´t see the sun rising cause I´m sleeping hahahah

Cristy, I suggest you to keep your choice between Nikon and Canon, cause if you want to get ito this photography world, can make upgrades in your camera with the best material. These two brands are over the top. Pentax used to be one of the best brands in the past, Pentax K1000 is perfect!!
but Canon and Nikon are the best ones, they are always inovating and it's better to choice a brand and then start making upgrades on this same brand. For example: I have a Rebel XS and two lenses, next month I'm going to buy another lens, and when I'll change the camerabody, it will be another canon, and I'll keep my lenses

Wow Ro, you should start a forum photo teaching class!! I like the rose, that is a nice touch. But what the hell are all those little figures? What is that about and where did you get them?
I will get the Canon then and just upgrade the lenses. I wish the one I am getting came with 2 lenses tho like the Pentax does. sighhhh.....

I think, when I get the right camera, I will find things around the house that I can take pix of. But seriously, I am a scenery photog!!! But I know I must work on other things, esp going to venues to take those kind of shots, people shots, etc.
