Good grief girl, settle down, we were only trying to help. There was no insult to you or ur knowledge. MY post was mostly for those who don't have this knowledge and don't want anybody to be misled into thinking they have to have the best!! Great for you, not for somebody else.
And nobody was trying to take away your excitement, just we thot it would be more logical just in case you wanted to invest in lenses more than the camera body!!!! So settle down. It's all good!!!

yeah...so...nevermind about my last post. haha!

so today, me and my boyfriend went into best buy just looking around. we ended up over in my department...cameras. i told him that i decided to get the rebel xsi today. he was trying so hard to talk me out of it, saying we don't need it right now and stuff like that. then we decided to just play around with them for a while. after playing with them for about an hour and checking employee discount on everything, we walked out of the store with the Canon 50D. i can't believe it!!! i went in there wanting an $800 camera and walked out with one costing a LOT more. haha! but it's SOOOOO amazing!!! we've been taking pictures since we got the battery charged. if you are planning on buying a camera, hold out for the better one!!! it's so completely worth it. i seriously cannot believe how amazing these pictures are coming out.

and hey, i can't be a digital imaging specialist and NOT own the most amazing camera ever!

no offense to ANYONE...but i know a lot about cameras. i know how much money i spent. i know what i bought. there is NO WAY i am taking this camera back. if i am planning on buying a DSLR and i have the money, i am getting the best camera out there. i knew what i wanted and i got it. i know how to take pictures. i know how to use a camera. i may not have a degree, but i had to go through extensive training to be able to sell these cameras and teach people about them. again, no offense to anyone. i am very happy with my camera and i am not going to let anybody ruin my excitement.

as bad as the economy is why on earth would anyone try to tell someone how to spend THEIR own hard earned money ...
just because someones a pro .. doesn't mean only pros should buy one ..

Hey! I never said to take this camera back! You got a a real great camera, you got the top camera actually! Therefore, my advice is for those ones who are going to buy the first camera, not for you that have already bought this!

I would say my word by another way then:

If I had money, I would buy a 50D aaaand more lenses! This is the best combination!
But if I would have only 2000 dollars, I could buy only a 50D or I could buy a camera like a XS or XSi (these ones are used by PRO also) and then more lenses and acessories! I'm really into lenses, the next one I'll buy will be a 50mm with f/1.8

BTW it's nothing different then what others post on the photographers internet sites, why should I be judged? It's trying to help with making an intelligent purchase when you don't know what the issues are!!! Forgive me for caring!! *** forgive me for caring too much on here at all!!! I think it was just a missunderstanding... but hey, Scorpluvr, you have said you were going to spent 800$ in a XSi? But on BHphoto it's $499, this is the usual price.
A Canon 50D is $1,473.95
Well, probably when I'll make a upgrade on my camera, there will be a new brand over this one
And once again, congratulations! I would never tell anyone to take back a 50D, I would think 3 times to buy, cause I really would think about lenses, but if I had one in hands, no way I would change it!

And Sherry, you should buy a 50D camerabody if you have money, since you have already 4 lenses! Although there are more lenses to buy, you have some options to choose to take a pic!

im sure she gets some what of an employee discount also .. so take that into thought ,,

Yes they are! You have a XTi, so, the lenses are compatible, almost all the current Canon use the same lenses!

sigh....okay. The only thing is, what I said was NOT towards Jen, it was a type of teaching tool if you will, for others who don't have the money for that kind of camera. Steering them in the direction of what kind of cameras could also be just as good. Also, if I remember, I believe I even told her this was not towards her, that her camera must be amazing. Before that post, I was encouraging her to take it back NOT knowing her expertise in the genre and being "helpful" AGAIN by letting her know....oh hell, never mind. I already explained that one to her.

Ok Ok, we are done! I was talking technically about buying cameras as I do in photoforuns, Since she got one of the best top cameras! And since she was giving advicise to buy this best one, I was giving the advice about buying another camera and using the rest of the money to buy lenses! Since after all we can keep the lenses and change the camera body! So, it was really a missundestanding!

And I hope you can buy a 50D to use with your lenses, Sherry
