Replying to your post Jackie:

The British Queen could go on the country dependent side of the British Euro coins, but not on the notes. That will a problem, I understand.

The new tax in New Zealand you mentioned, isn't that VAT?

Will you let me know when you have figured out the trick of counterfeiting?

How do British stamps work? There is no denomination on them, just a picture of the Queen and the text "2nd". What is the blue stamp for, for instance, and how much is it?

Hiya Kammo,
Don't suspect they will play the UK here any time soon either.
Cheers

responding to acnijdam:

Our postage system has you boggled I see, LOL!
Great Britain does have specific denominations of postage stamps.
The ones you are referring to are 2nd, which stands for second class mail. It takes about 3 days for delivery. The 1st class stamps cost 27p and it should be delivered next day obviously pending what time of day you post the letter.
Depends on how well fed the horses are on the mail carriage. LOL!

Yes, I'm currently working on the hologram bit and will share it with you. Partners in crime?
Cheers

Hi to all of you. I've been reading posts again but wanted to tell you my adventure with the Euro.

Last September I went to Europe for about a month. My husband would not fly so I went 3 weeks solo and my older daughter came to Zurich and stayed the first week there. She left...I went on to Italy, Austria, etc. and came back to Switzerland for an extra 4 nights.

Wanted to go to a spa (Rhinefeldon) I think is correct name spelling. Went alone by train and was walking around and nothing had opened yet so one of the shop owners told me a nice walk would be along the river down by the bridge. I, went it was beautiful..walked accross the bridge (I'm talking cobblestone and not that long) and spent about 2 hours on the other side of this town. Got hungry and thirsty and wanted to stop but being Sunday most places had closed. So I went in a deli asked for water and picked out a sandwich and because of the language barrier (I thought) he kept handing me back my Swiss Francs, I thought he didn't take cash so I produced my Credit Card (no go) I asked him again about my money...I'm holding this sandwich in my hand and he says no Swiss Francs only Euro's. I said I thought you were the only country other then England that wasn't taking the Euro...He looked at me for a few minutes he said your tourist yes? I said yes. He said then I tell you your in Germany. So I had walked from one country to another in just about 10 minutes and didn't even know it. Needless to say he took my water and sandwich back. And said something in German...that I didn't quite pick up but I could tell he was making fun of me. So I walked for about three hours in Germany with no clue. (but just so you don't think I'm crazy, the towns both had the same names).

Some shops here accept the Euro but most resent it. It would depend on how much the business meant to the merchant I suppose.

Dark lady, you're "making" me post my second quote from Ozzy, it's about earth: When will mankind stop abusing her? Sometime? Well, ok, I guess that one silly bird doesn't make much of a difference.

I am thinking about giving it all up, delete all my 339 posts, and start all over again as alien8. How about that? Maybe Wolfgang will even allow me.

Nobody seems to care. I'll spend some time in the South American woods. See if they survive. I don't care either.

One should at least try to read some literature in their own language before migrating to newspeak english.
