UK DATES FOR FINAL STING TOUR?

Hey there,

I'm sure other fans have posted similar concerns, but surely the Scorpions wouldn't complete their world tour without coming back to the UK would they ? - they haven't been here once during the whole tour but have visited other countries 2 or 3 times. Come on guys, tell me there more dates after Munich and you haven't totally neglected your loyal and long-serving fans (30+ years) in the UK. Can someone put me out of my misery and confirm that they are coming back to the UK please as this would be a sad, sad end to the support I have given to the Scorpions over these many years

AND Greece....just becuz they are having financial probs, doesn't take away the fact that the boys KNOW they have some of the best and most fanatical fans on the planet and they have always had such a great time there!!! I can't think of any other country who have shown such huge support and loyalty with their parties and fan gatherings in honor of Scorps. So, where is Greece in this final tour? Screw monetary gain for once please (management) and just think of the fans.

Oh my friend! For just one reason: MONEY! The countries you mentioned here don't pay them a lot of money so that's why they go so often in France and Russia..sad but true Personally now I think that is not true about the good promoters...for example Greece has always been a second home for the Scorpions and now?They forgot of them

If you are right, then how sad after all these years to still be dictated by the money and not the fact that this is the Scorps farewell tour and they should be sharing one last gig with their fans in all countries. I have been a fan for over 30 years and this is a terrible way to end things!!

I have recently asked about UK Dates...
The reply was
"NO PLANS AS OF YET"

Sure the goal is to make money and be successful, But i think its unfair to accuse the guys of not caring anymore.
(generaly speaking, not directing this at anyone), Thats just not true...
As for WHY they dont tour some places isnt just about the money...
Sometimes its timing, or consider the issues that are "political" or maybe personal reasons...
WE JUST DONT KNOW....

Greece has been spoiled for years, no offense, but you all have it easier then other countries.( as far as band meet n greets)...
I think Australia deserves the Attention next...

As for Greece, you are absolutely right.
In my opinion none of the fans, and countries are more better, or more fanatic as others, just the opportunities are differ.
Yes, Greece have gotten the maximum from the band the last years, so it's turn of other countries now.
Ok, I keep cross my fingers for you Uk fans.

Thanks for your understanding Gabi6912, I don't expect the UK to get special treatment, just something a bit more equal to some other countries whether money is an issue or not.
Onecraysquaw, I don't think for one minute the band don't care but I'm kinda guessing that if you've asked the question "what about UK tour dates" and the answer is "No Plans As Yet" and the tour is almost 2 years old, then there will be no plans for the UK.
I think all fans will be a little selfish, but not in a bad way - we all want to see the Scorps playing gigs down the road from where we live and maybe the ones who say the Scorps should play in this country or that country may actually get to see the band a whole lot more than most.
Hey, I'm only guessing here and mean no one any disrespect - after all, we all share the same interest

I've given up on it happening. It's a real shame but there you go. Lot's of great bands who are coming here however so move on.. I have!

I have posted this a few times on this site before when the NO UK dates topic comes back..

Rudy said in the UK Classic Rock magazine back in December 2011 that if the money is right the band will play the UK..so yes the band will only play countries that will put money in their pockets..

Japan was the first country who accepted them back in 1978 and they have been ignored the past 10 years

Greece was their second home from 2001-2009 and now they have been forgotten..

Australia which is a hot bed for Hard Rock bands for the past 25 years has been ignored from day 1 from the band..Klaus, Rudy and Matthias have made comments in the past that they have not been made the right money offer to play Australia.

But please remember the band might not be done after 2012..I think the band is only going to cut back on long 2-3 year tours after 2012. So maybe 2014 they will play some of these countries..

Yeah - my opinion is on this (maybe I'm just hoping) that the Scorpions will take a break and then they are planning something. I feel that things are "incomplete" for a final tour. Too many odds and ends not matching up.

So crossing my fingers for everyone that there will be more shows and while of course I would rather a show nearby - I think to be fair to fans in the UK, Australia, etc that it's their turn.

Of course this probably means I need to find a way to Australia, but I'm totally okay with that!

If money is still the main factor, maybe I'll start a "whip-round"or do a sponsored event!!!
I will "wait" a bit longer plugster but I wont hold my breath in case I don't get enough sponsors!!

Taken from an earlier posting, one of our friends mentioned a tour next year with Michael Schenker, Herman Rarebell and Francs Bucholz that is sure to include UK dates:- does anyone know any more about this please?

I'm trying to make contingency plans should the Scorps decide not to bother coming back to the UK!!
