Second leg of USA tour ?

The problem this time around is they waited too long to announce. Most of the other bands were announcing tours in fall of last year !!!

I have checked the availability of tickets at the first few shows ...they are not selling well.

They should have done my idea of playing small 2 to 5 thousand seat venues. Less gear to cart around and they would blow peoples minds up that close. They could play more places , still keep ticket prices high , still do meet and greet , and have a kick ass tour.

Its kinda late now. If they scale down now it will look bad and they may not sell anything.

As upset as i was at them, i actually feel bad for them. A world class band in this situation.,..sad.

I have a feeling the tour will be cancelled.

I was looking at the dates and after DC or after the wacken fest there is plenty of open space, But i guess we have to see how the tour is selling . prices are pretty high so I don't know .... any chance maybe for the Minnesota,Illinois and Indiana State fairs ? :D

Its looking very doubtful for any dates being added in August in NA. So if there are anymore it will be after the DC show. But i will tell you one thing and alot of people are going to be mad at me. But tickets are not selling well right now across North America. I check ticket sales daily. This was my biggest fear. In North america we get so many touring packages during the summer and with the economy being so bad most fans have to pick and choose on what shows to see. In a 21 day period in the Washington-Maryland-Virginia area we are getting:

June 30- Iron Maiden/Alice Cooper- jiffy Lube Live
July 10- Def Leppard/Poison/Lita Ford- merriweather post pavilion
July 12 - Scorpions- merriweather post pavilion
July 20- KISS-Motley Crue- jiffy Lube Live

So alot of fans have to choose between these shows. And the KISS-Crue tour will be the tour of the summer which now will hurt ticket sales even more for the Scorps. That is why i wanted them to tour here in the Spring. So they had no one except the Van Halen tour to compete with which with a good touring package would of been okay.

Now add another show to the Washington DC-Maryland-virginia area..

June 30- Iron Maiden/Alice Cooper- Jiffy Lube Live
July 3- Aerosmith and Cheap Trick- Jiffy Lube Live
July 10- Def Leppard/Poison/Lita Ford- Merriweather Post Pavilion
July 12 - Scorpions- Merriweather Post Pavilion
July 20- KISS-Motley Crue- Jiffy Lube Live

And the Scorps are going to sell how many tickets to their show in our area..not a good time to be on tour in North America

As Scott as said that ticket sales are slow, another reason could be this ticket BS that start with this site linking it to a ticket broker.

People will talk to friends or read what happen to them when they try to get their tickets.

Just remember word of mouth can make or break a business and the actions of the management and promoters are breaking the business here in North America sorry to say this but it's true. The way the US is being treated is a joke with only 15 shows for two countries. But yet France gets 13 shows this year lets compare land size.

The size of France is 547,030 sqare kilometers, 211,209 square miles, while the land mass of the U.S. is 9,161,923 SQ KM.

I have talked to hundreds of people that have reached out to me on scorpsnews about the prices on ticketnetwork site when wolfgang posted that site here. Alot of them were not going this summer because of those prices. So i had to go on crisis control just to calm people down.

Well for those who don't care about the cost consider this. My son's birthday is July 11. His first show was Merriwether in 2010. He represented the new generation who felt the sting. I was going to pay approx $4,000 tonight on ticket master for the meet-and-greet in Philadelphia. But I second guessed and did not buy them mainly because I'd like some sort of assurance that the set-list will be different. So consider this as another reason a die-hard life long huge fan has reservations about this tour. This band wrote the soundtrack of my life and I'm tired of not hearing the many diverse songs they wrote after spending thousands over the years to support them. I want to support them, but even tho I can afford brokered tickets, I want to know the band cares. The wind of change this year means Klaus must tear down the setlist and mix it up. Thanks

Well Palmster, the tour in France starts tomorrow night - maybe we'll hear that the setlist has been changed up a bit then you can go ahead with your tickets.

I definitely hear what you are saying about the setlist, but that won't stop me from seeing them as many times as I can!

Thank you...and yes this does fall on Klaus shoulders!!!! i have been told by many people inside the inner circle of the Scorpions that Klaus makes the set list to fit his voice..Which sucks because the set list and order has been the same for the past 15 years..except for a few songs here and there..

this summers tour should be like the Wacken show 6 years ago...songs from all eras of the band..No covers and only Raised on Rock from SITT..Matthias does a great job on Uli's 70's songs so throw some of them in the set list..

With the addition of the Poland date I'm not too hopeful. It wouldn't make sense to do another USA tour between August 4-31, fly to Poland for a show, and then fly back to Mexico.

As explained by Ben .. there are 2 stage sets .. one will be shipped to the USA used here and stored here for use with the shows in Mexico and South America while the other stage will stay in Europe for Wacken and other shows there ...
So its still possible that more shows could appear ... never say never

No Pain No Gain- No Voice No Choice! No fans No band! Come on Come on Come on Klaus, change the US set list. Kottak and samples as back-up are just small things you can do to bring back songs that the US fans are dying to hear. We know you are human and understand it's not possible to still hit all the high notes, but please for the sake of the people who love you guys, and have supported you for your whole career.. change the setlist. This is not a reflection of what you cannot still do, but what legacy you can leave.

God Bless.

Good ol David Lee would never have been on stage after or before Scorps. He KNOWS they would have had a hard time with the competition from our boys!  :P

Also, I was going to say as well, since a very good friend of mine and MJ's has told me that they have duplicate trucks of equipment that stay here. They will have more dates here, no worries.
BUT yes, they are hardly known here anymore. No matter how many I tell, they are shocked that Scorps are still around AND came to Denver in 2010 and will be at TheRocks in June. It's nuts!!!

Them touring with Tesla is just okay, but they could have done better MUCH better!!! I am not surprised over the lackluster sales! THANKS A LOT AMEND!! CAN ANYONE SAY AMEN TO SAYONARA TO AMEND?
