UK TOUR ~ there isn't going to be one!

I have it on good information that the band are so busy with venues of the 10,000 to 20,000 indoor capacity that anything less than a festival in the UK wouldn't be viable.
We in the UK all know that the Scorpions struggle to fill even the small venues on their name alone
2012 is all but booked up for the Scorpions but there are still one or two UK festivals yet to announce their line ups. For example Sonisphere, Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury etc and I'm told that if a good offer came up for one of those (eg a headline day) then they would come!?

Scorpions would like to play in Italy but there are no promoters who call them or maybe they don't offer them a good economic conditions btw I don't like the idea of a festival,it's their last farewell tour,they MUST play always like headliner

I don`t think money or crisis are the reasons, cause Scorpions came to Bulgaria, and hopefully they`ll come again. As well in Romania. So, as you probably know, both countries are..at the very bottom, when it`s about crisis, economic, financial status and so on..

Marina it's not actually a crisis thing. I live in Ukraine. And I think I know more about what crisis is than Spanish people But anyway Scorpions play here often. And this year they will also come here for some shows (promoters are negotiating with Scorpions management at the moment).

Spain might happen in September...but Australia is going to get screwed again..which sucks that country is a great rock country.

AND FIREWELL TOUR IS GETTING TOO WELL THOUGHT TO GAIN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, WHICH I WOULD NEVER BLAME, BUT WHEN YOU SEE A BAND THAT HAS SO MANY SHOWS IN THE SAME COUNTRY AND THE SURRONDINGS, IT IS AN ESTRATEGY TO REDUCE THE COSTS AND THEREFORE INCREASE THE EARNINGS, AND WHEN ALL OF THAT BIG AMOUNT OF SHOWS IN THE SAME COUNTRY ARE WITH THE SAME PROMOTOR IS A BIT TOO WEIRD AND I´M SURE NO ONE IN SPAIN COUND DO A SIMILAR THING WITH THE SITUATION WE ARE RIGHT NOW.

I will wait and hope they do something over here on this tour. I feel privileged to have seen them twice already (07/08) at Hammersmith which were awesome shows. A festival might even do Scorpions some good atm, it might give them some more fame before they break up.

Also plugster brings up a good point. The last concert I was at was the joint Def Leppard and Motley Crue show. That sold out fast and was an awesome event. Scorpions could do the same.

Marina, dear.. I don`t argue with you. It`s just ..yeah, probably, not THE MAIN reason for not coming to UK, Spain and so on. For example, may be UK concert tickets are one of the most expensive in Europe, so it seems money are not the problem.

And, even in Bulgaria with 7,500 000 ppl population, 20 000 ppl can afford tickets, no matter what. So what about bigger countries as Spain and UK

I totally get your point, times are very tought now, people can`t afford to buy themselves a food, so in the more cases having fun is not in their budget. I know it best.. Here the situation is even worst.. With average salary around 250 euro .. it`s not that easy to give 30 euro for ticket, cause you`ll live with this 30 euro a couple of days...

I really hope Scorpions will come to Spain, UK and everywhere..

The name of the tour needs to be changed.....as it is not a "World Tour".....and I can not see them getting a headline for Reading, Leeds, or Glastonbury....and if they are not going to play in certain countries then the kindness thing for the band to do is tell us.....we as the fans would be upset but I for one would have more respect for the band if they would just come clean and say sorry but we will not be coming to your country and here is why......

As for Spain.....their unemployment has reached 5 million....almost 23% of the population....and about 2100 people just lost their jobs when one of their airlines went bust.....so I understand Marina and the problems her country is having.....because if these people are out of work.....they can not pay taxes and Spain sinks into even more debt.....
