Oho! You are the real heroes to drive so long distance almost without stopping...( we refuse to go to the second show in finland just because of the fact we have to drive more than 300km in night after the 1st show...)
Best wishes, Nadya

It's great to be here, to see you all!

I just had to bring the video of Always Somewhere in here, too .... it is so wonderful.. And listen to Klaus on his "always SOMEwhere..." !!!! Judging by this high note only, I would say that his voice really was in a good condition, too

From Edguy`s web site :D :

ANOTHER NIGHT WITH THE SCORPIONS...
July 17, 2011
" Edguy have just returned from Schweinfurt where they have played as special guests to the Scorpions in front of more than 15,000 people at the stadium on Saturday, 16th. Edguy want to thank the Scorpions once again for their great support and friendly treatment, and of course they wanna thank all their fans at the Schweinfurt show who made the gig a big success. Now everybody is looking forward to setting off on the forthcoming European tour. "

Part 1: Thursday and Friday

After a 450 km drive from Berlin, following the Autobahn to the west, I arrived in my hotel in Schweinfurt the Thursday evening.

The next morning I met Marta on the Roßmarkt. We decided to visit the city of Würzburg together, which was only 40 minutes away by car. If you like old buildings and churches, it's a very beautiful city, with many nice sights. To make our short visit even more exciting we gave ourselves assignments like: finding the castle, finding back the other side of the river, finding the car, finding something to eat.

In the late afternoon we went back to Schweinfurt, trying to find the Bauwens clan, but they had not arrived yet. So we went to check out the Willy Sachs Stadion where the concert was going to be. There were already some, not too friendly security guys there, and it was difficult to figure out on which side the stage was going to be.

In the early evening the Bauwens ladies and their friend Arthur had arrived. After a short walk in Schweinfurt, we had all together a birthday supper with Marta. We had a lot of fun trying to understand the menu in German and things like that. I want to thank everybody for being such enjoyable company. :D

Just got back home. This was my first ever Scorpions concert and it was great. I was supposed to meet Hans and other members of the forum, but unfortunately, that didn't happen due to... circumstances.

I was stationed in Frankfurt during my stay in Germany. Originally, on July 16th, I was supposed to go to the Frankfurt Airport to be picked up by Hans and go with him to Schweinfurt, but had a change of plans. I got a car in Frankfurt because I had to get back to Frankfurt from Schweinfurt after the concert ended. Anyway, I left Frankfurt at around 13:00 and arrived in Schweinfurt around 15:30. I drove around Schweinfurt for a while and then found a parking spot nearby the stadium. I entered the stadium at around 17:00. I should also mention that I did a very stupid thing -- I didn't bring my mobile phone. When I arrived back to my hotel in Frankfurt at around 1:00 I saw a message from Hans (which he sent around 15:00) telling me where the forum group is. If I had brought my phone I could've met everyone, but... Ah, it wasn't meant to be. I'd just like to thank Hans publicly for his help. Anyway, I walked through the stadium, had a doner and a drink and then found a cool spot in the pit. It was a long wait until Edguy came out (around 2 hours). The Edguy part of the show was great. I didn't really hear any songs from Edguy before (but have heard a lot of Avantasia stuff that Tobias did). I speak some German, so I understood the jokes and everything. Since this was my first Scorpions concert (and maybe my first concert of a band; been to concerts of solo performers in the past), I thought the stage that Edguy was performing on was the stage that the Scorpions are going to perform on. I was kind of disappointed, because it looked generic and worn out. But fortunately, when the Edguy concert finished, they began to dismantle their gear and bring in the Scorpions equipment. Needless to say, I was very happy with the stage and the effects (especially the fire, heh).

I knew the setlist before the concert started, and thought it was great. But, to tell you the truth, I didn't enjoy the songs in the first half of the concert. I'm not a fan of songs like "Make it real" or "Tease me please me". I am not a fan of "Sting in the tail" which opened the concert (although it was bearable due to great effects on the stage). Honestly, I started to really enjoy myself when I heard the opening riff to "Blackout". Everything after that was amazing. Before that, it was okay. Don't get me wrong... it was great; I just thought the setlist would be a bit different. But there's nothing we can do about that. :)

I didn't take a lot of photos (just a few), but I recorded a lot of video while I was at the concert. I recorded some songs in full, and some only partially. I think I'll be able to upload them to YouTube soon.

All in all, it was a great experience. What I'd like to do next is see them in a closed environment (not open air). If I collect enough money, I'd like to see them in Paris or Vienna (end of November).
I've seen it all and so much more, but I ain't seen nothing yet.

Areolyd, I am just curious about sthg, if this was your very first Scorps concert, why was the setlist such a disappointment? I usually hear that from someone who has heard the same setlist for years but not someone new. I am just curious, so don't take offense. And altho I loved Hour 1 as an opener, I sure do love their SITT opener!! Even if we don't get the pyros!! Too bad you didn't enjoy the first half of the show. Again I am curious, if this was the first time you have heard these great classics LIVE!! :P

Simply because I don't like those songs. When I play the "Animal Magnetism" album, I skip "Make it real". I don't listen to "Sting in the tail" (the song) at all. I heard it maybe 2 times since the album came out, and the third time was at the concert. "Tease me please me" was always my least favorite track on "Crazy world". "Bad boys running wild" doesn't fit when they sing it (they are old men now). "Raised on rock" is a try to copy "Rock you like a hurricane", but it doesn't come close and it wasn't written by Scorpions. "Loving you Sunday morning" is my least favorite track from "Lovedrive". Why can't they play "I can't get enough" instead? "The Zoo", "The best is yet to come" and the acoustic duo "Send me an angel"/"Holiday" was okay. They warmed me up with "Dynamite"... and after the Kottack Attack, when I heard the "Blackout" opening riff, I went crazy. Everything after that was superb.

This was the setlist:

Sting In The Tail
Make It Real
Bad Boys Running Wild
The Zoo
Coast To Coast
Loving You Sunday Morning
The Best Is Yet To Come
Send Me An Angel
Holiday
Raised on Rock
Tease Me Please Me
Dynamite
Kottak Attack
Blackout
Six String Sting
Big City Nights

Encore:
Still Loving You
Wind Of Change
Rock You Like A Hurricane
When The Smoke Is Going Down
Always Somewhere
I've seen it all and so much more, but I ain't seen nothing yet.

That's a fair explanation!! BTW, I can't stand Loving You Sunday Morning either. But the rest of them, I love!! And even tho they are "old" men, they can still run wild. Listen I am MJ's age, a few months earlier than him, but I still love to rawk out, still love getting wild; as a matter of fact there were 3 of us who came up with Bad Girls Running Wild (well it was 1 and then 2 of us ran with it) and it went worldwide. Age doesn't make you any less of bad boys running wild. But anyway, I appreciate your reasons. Glad you finally got caught up in the fever of our boys!!

Nothing against rawking out and running wild, of course. :) It just seems a bit funny when they sing it. But it's a good song anyway.

And "Blackout"... That song is a timeless rock n' roll masterpiece. If it was recorded by Led Zeppelin, it would be hailed as the best rock n' roll song in the history of music.
